Smartphone manufacturers are busy showing off their latest products at the ongoing Mobile World Congress tech show in Barcelona, Spain. Companies like Samsung, Nokia and Sony have already announced their smartphones. And, amongst all these, China-based ZTE too has announced its latest smartphones – the ZTE Blade V9 and the ZTE Blade V9 Vita.
Let’s talk about the ZTE Blade V9 first. The ZTE Blade V9 is a mid-range smartphone, and, in terms of design, it looks like the Honor 9 Lite. The smartphone features a 5.7-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels.
Under the hood, the ZTE Blade V9 comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 450 chip which is laced with 3 or 4 GB RAM. The 3 GB RAM variant comes with 32 GB of internal storage whereas the 4 GB RAM variant comes with 64 GB of internal storage.
That said, the phone boots up to Android 8.1 Oreo, and, features a dual camera setup at the back which is a combination of one 16 MP and one 5 MP camera. ZTE says this secondary camera can not only capture depth information, but, can also help you take better quality photos in low-light conditions. And, as far as selfies and video calls are concerned, the ZTE Blade V9 rocks an 8 MP camera on the front.
There’s also a fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone for additional security, and, the Blade V9 receives its energy from a 3200 mAh battery which itself draws power through a micro USB port which is a bummer.
Having said that, the ZTE Blade V9 Vita on the other hand is a smaller smartphone. It features a 5.45-inch display and is also powered by Snapdragon 435 SoC. The amount of RAM and internal storage has also been reduced to 2/3 GB and 16/32 GB respectively.
While the ZTE Blade V9 Vita does come with dual camera setup at the back, the megapixel count has been reduced to 13 MP + 2 MP from 16 MP + 5 MP on the Blade V9. That’s not it, the front camera has also been toned down from 8 MP to 5 MP on the Blade V9 Vita.
Like the ZTE Blade V9, the Blade V9 Vita also runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, but, it ships with a slightly smaller 3100 mAh battery.
“The ZTE Blade V9 has redefined the mid-tier industry segment and provides a platform for consumers to truly live without limits. The low-light camera, full screen design, and other leading features of the ZTE Blade V9 provide everything consumers need for a life of exploration, and at an affordable price” said Lixin Cheng, CEO of ZTE Mobile Devices.
