The Apple iPhone 5 went on sale in China over the weekend and the Cupertino based company has today announced that it has sold over 2 million iPhone 5’s in China.
The 2 million iPhones sold figure is only for China and does not include the other 32 countries where it also went on sale on December 14.
Apple has this time around planned to make the iPhone 5 available in more than 100 countries before the end of the year which is indeed a great move by the company and the fastest iPhone roll-out till date.
“Customer response to iPhone 5 in China has been incredible, setting a new record with the best first weekend sales ever in China,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “China is a very important market for us and customers there cannot wait to get their hands on Apple products.”
