Windows Phone 7.8 upgrade available via Nokia Care

It seems that the Windows Phone 7.8 upgrade on existing Nokia devices running on Windows Phone 7.5 is now available. Before you jump for joy, let us tell you that neither Nokia nor Microsoft have confirmed it yet, however our source of information is one of the Nokia Care Centres in India.

We went to a Nokia Care to get the upgrade for our Nokia Lumia 510, which is already selling with Windows Phone 7.8 out-of-the-box, and from there we got to know that the Windows 7.8 upgrade is available on the Nokia Lumia 900, 800, 710 and 510 but Lumia 610 users will have to wait.

As you can see in the image above, the home-screen has re-sizable Live tiles. The 7.8 upgrade brings in the Ringtone Maker and Bluetooth Share apps. Users can now also set the Bing images as wallpapers over their Lumia smartphones.

If you own a Nokia Lumia 900, 800, 710 or 510, we advise you to call your nearest Nokia Care to confirm if the upgrade is available.

UPDATE: The Windows Phone 7.8 upgrade is available in India for Nokia Lumia 610 too!
