Virgin Mobile India has recently announced a yet another addition to their handset portfolio a low cost entry level phone namely vRage. vRage is basically a Samsung product with a 1.5" 65k Screen, FM Radio, Hinglish SMS Support and a Mobile Tracker. This phone is a Bar shaped handset costing Rs 1899/- and is very similar to the other handsets in Virgin's Portfolio.
Though Virgin is launching new phones at regular intervals but still they are catering to entry level market only. Apart from Samsung Max there is no other mid segment phone forget about high end ones. But the launch of a few open market CDMA phones from Samsung has some respite for CDMA users. Samsung has recently launched mPower series CDMA phones supporting all 3 major CDMA players Reliance, Tata and Virgin. mPower series as of now have two variants namely mPower 569 which is a Slider shaped 2 MP phone with MP3 support while mPower 309 is a bar shaped 1.3 MP phone with MP3 support.
We sincerely expect some more meaningful phones from Virgin appealing to the youth of India.
