It has been close to two years that we have been waiting for the iPhone 5. But it might be finally be up for release this summer, according to tip received from a Foxconn employee. The leak has sprung up some interesting news.

Firstly, it seems that the iPhone might finally be joining the ranks of Galaxy SII and Galaxy Nexus with a 4-inch plus screen. The iPhone 5 might continue with its slab form factor, instead of the teardrop shape, which has been herd about a lot on the net. But since the screen is larger, we believe that the iPhone 5, in totality will be larger as compared to previous iPhones.

If everything falls into place, Steve Jobs' dream of reinventing photography through the iPhone might become true with the next generation iPhone. Lytro, a firm that specializes in making light field camera had been in talks with Jobs, as explained in the upcoming book, 'Inside Apple.'
Firstly, what does a fancy name like light-field cameras mean? It means cameras, which can capture all light moving in every direction at every point in space, i.e. light field. Let me put this even more simply. If you are sitting in a room, under a tubelight, the camera will capture every part of the room the light reaches. Like a cat follows a mouse, the camera will itself follow the light. You can edit the part of the image that you need and refocus, readjust using an integral viewer.

According to BGR, Apple is planning to launch the iPhone 5 with a completely new design. We have earlier heard that the iPhone 5 will arrive with a probably larger screen of 4 inch and a faster processor but this time it's all about the body.

The iPhone 5 will have aluminium back and may be surrounded by a rubber or plastic bezel. BGR says, "It will join the glass iPhone face with a new aluminium back plate. It will also cover a redesigned antenna system that surrounds the device, allowing Apple to build the rear case out of aluminium without having to use a large plastic insert above the antennas as the company does on its iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G."

Consumer reports have yet again denied to give a buy rating to the Verizon’s version of Apple iPhone, It’s noteworthy, that when Apple had debuted its iPhone 4, then too Consumer Reports had denied to give it a buy rating citing and had recommended that one will have to buy a bumper to mitigate any signal loss on the device and thus forcing Apple to launch its free bumper program for limited period of time. However, it was expected that the CDMA version of Apple iPhone 4 would be free from this problem. Till now none of the consumers have complained in regards to the widespread call drops on Verizon network but this could also be due to the fact that Verizon network has previously received above-average reliability scores from readers of Consumer Reports. And just like the AT&T iPhone, using a bumper may help in eliminating the problem

Apple has been sending out mysterious invite for an event that it will be hosting on March 2. The picture on the invitation is clearly suggesting that it will indeed be an event, where the next generation iPad will be unveiled. According to the various leaks and speculations that have been doing the rounds this new tablet device may be thinner and more powerful than its predecessor. Apart from this, there are also expectations that Apple will add a Retina display to its Apple iPad 2 and may take the 1024x768 resolution up a few notches.Apple has already managed to sell over 15 million tablet computers in the last one year and there are predictions that this new tablet will help Apple to fortify its position further in the tablet market. But this may not be as easy a task now with the competition too stepping up the heat. Motorola Xoom, which was crowned the most promising gadget at the CES and touted as the strongest competitor to Apple iPad will start retailing from today. Just like the Apple iPad, Motorola Xoom is also a 10.1 inch tablet device but it runs on Android Honeycomb. Additionally there are more tablet devices from Samsung (more Galaxy Tabs), LG (Optimus Pad) and RIM (with its talked about PlayBook) that will seek to challenge Apple in this segment. All in all 2011 truly looks like to be the year of tablets with many more innovations being added in this sphere.
