Celebrate Rakshabandhan and Independence Day with Vodafone

Vodafone has announced its SMS service to avail Raskhabandhan and Independence Day messages and greetings which customers can share with their loved ones. This service can also be availed for other events like birthday or daily greetings and quotes.
Both prepaid and postpaid customers can subscribe to these services and receive three SMSs for different wishes and quotes. On sending WISH <keyword> to 56789, the Rakshabandhan messages will be live from 12th and 13th August and the Independence Day messages will be live from 14th to 16th Aug. These greetings will be charged at Rs 3 per SMS.
To activate customers need to do the following:
- SMS WISH <keyword> and send it 56789.
- Keywords for Rakshabandhan: WISH Rakshabandhan or WISH RAKHI.
- Keywords for Independence Day: WISH Independence day, WISH Independence, WISH 15thAug, WISH 15th Aug, WISH 15 August, WISH SwatantrataDivas, WISH Swatantrata Divas.
Vodafone gives a heads-up for the upcoming F1 event in India

India will be hosting the first even Indian Grand Prix this year in the month of October. Vodafone is all set for the event and has announced its run up to the much-awaited motor racing event in India. As part of its plans, Vodafone announced the launch of ‘Vodafone Race to Fame’, a unique platform, which includes a host of activities. This initiative includes two different challenges ‘Vodafone Race to Fame- Life in the fast lane’ where 4 winners (2 consumers and 2 global enterprise customers) will get ‘a-money-can’t-buy’ experience, to spend the weekend with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes (VMM) team during the motor racing event scheduled to be held at Noida from the 28th-30th October 2011. The ‘Vodafone Drive into the Big League’ extends an opportunity to small & medium enterprises to have their logo on the VMM cars that will race at the motor racing event in India.
The call for entries for ‘Vodafone Race to Fame -life in the fast lane’ will start from third week of August 2011. Vodafone 3G is coming to Bangalore

Subscribers of Vodafone in Bangalore can now enjoy 3G services. Vodafone today announced that 3G services will be made available to its customers in Bangalore from tomorrow i.e. August 5,2011. Vodafone has tied with Airtel to provide 3G services in Bangalore. Vodafone will be launching 3G in other towns and cities in Karnataka in a phased manner over the coming months.
As an introductory offer, Vodafone is offering below mentioned data plans:

*Post free units – postpaid customer will be charged @ 2p/10kb
*2G pack benefits will be replaced with 3G pack benefits upon activation
*Video call charges – Rs 3/ min applicable

The product has been introduced for the first time for Vodafone customers in Kolkata and offers a wide variety of famous short stories from the gems of Bengali literature.

Vodafone has announced the launch of its new mobile service called Newswrap in Tamil Nadu. Users of this service will get news as an MMS and will be updated with the latest news and happenings around the world while they are on the move.
The service will provide morning and evening alerts and also all the breaking news will be available to the subscribers instantly. Newswrap provides the reader with a brief synopsis of the news bulleting along with pictures making it more appealing. The service includes different genres of news, which the customers can read from like national, international, business, current affairs, entertainment and sports.
To subscribe customers need to type MN and send it as an SMS to 111. They will receive the Newswrap WAP link through which they can start their subsciprion. Customers can subscribe to the daily alert priced at Re 1, weekly alerts at Rs 5 or the monthly alerts at Rs 20.
