Vodafone Essar today launched a GPRS voucher for its prepaid customers in Kolkata. Priced at Rs. 21, the GPRS prepaid voucher allows the customer to browse upto 200 MB data and comes with a validity of two days.The GPRS voucher is available across all Vodafone Stores, Mini Stores and other retail outlets in Kolkata. Its clear that Vodafone is not targetting new consumers with this plan as its very costly as compared to what other operators are providing. Vodafone need to rethink about its new GPRS plan in Kolkata if it wants to attract new customers. I mean they are not offering better tariffs or atleast the same tariffs as TATA DOCOMO or Aircel. Vodafone today announced the launch of ‘Chhota Comics’ service. Users of Chotta Comics service can access comic strips as well as full length comics of popular Indian and international titles like Suppandi, Chacha Chaudhary, Mickey & Donald, Akbar Birbal, Winnie the Pooh, Hanuman & lots more, on their mobile phones.
Vodafone Essar today announced the launch of ‘Vodafone Star of the Match’ competition for the upcoming DLF IPL Season III. Through this competition, Vodafone provides an opportunity to all its customers to be seen on national television being honoured by the winning captain during the post match ceremony. The winning captain will present the ‘Star of the Match’ with a personally autographed match ball.
Vodafone has announced that all Vodafone customers can purchase DLF IPL season III tickets through Vodafone M-Shop. Vodafone Customers can access M-Shop by dialing 53333 (toll free) or SMS MSHOP to 53333. Customers can also buy tickets by logging into Vodafone Live or www.vodafone.in.
Vodafone customers can now purchase movie tickets through their mobiles via Vodafone’s M-Shop. Customers can access M-shop IVR by dialing 53333 (toll free) or by sending SMS MSHOP to 53333 (no charge). This service is brought by Vodafone and BookMyShow, one of India’s largest online entertainment ticketing & Information services. As an introductory offer there will be no convenience fee till February 28, 2010. (Once this offer is over a convinience charge of Rs. 5 per ticket to Rs. 25 per ticket will be applicable)
Vodafone has announced the release of its most affordable ultra low cost handsets - Vodafone 150 and Vodafone 250. These are the cheapest handsets till date. The handset will soon be available in India and 6 markets in Africa – The Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Mozambique, Qatar, South Africa and Tanzania.
