Now that Virgin Mobile has created the storm among the youth with the launch of their music phone vJazz, the new gizmo in town is vBeat, the new handset launched by Virgin Mobile for the Indian customer. This handset is for the music buffs who want to carry their favorite tunes along with them but are short on budget. This is a very basic entry level handset but boasts an expandable memory of upto 2GB. It is slim, stylish and sleek and comes in deep maroon color. The handset is manufactured by Huawei and promises to entertain the youth with an inbuilt music player and FM Radio. Virgin Mobile has introduced vTurk for college students. Virgin Mobile by introducing this campaign want to get and idea of what is the motivations behind the purchase of a mobile phone, Youth attitudes, opinions and trends, Virgin Mobile customer satisfaction and recommendations about youth-focused product/tariff packages and any other relevant areas.For knowing all this Virgin Mobile needs college students to help it find answers to the above questions. Virgin Mobile will arm you with an array of cool merchandise and a couple of questionnaires. Virgin mobile launched Indian Hatke League

As IPL fever is about to grip the nation from 18th April, Virgin Mobile has come up with cricket fantasy game, Indian Hatke League (IHL), with an aim to leverage the cricket mania during the Indian Premier League (IPL) season.The online game will provide users the option to play for any of the eight teams participating in the 47-day IPL, to be held in South Africa April 18-May 24, while their scores on the basis of performance will determine their standings.
Launching the game here, Virgin Mobile chief executive M.A. Madhusudan said the initiative was strictly a 'brand-building exercise. We have launched the game for the Indian youth and not just for Virgin Mobile customers. The players will compete against each other during the period with the prospect to win prizes at the end of the tournament.'

Recharge with 149 rs and enjoy all local calls @ flat 30 paise/min for 24 hours with 750 local sms valid for 30 days.Virgin Mobile has slashed the call rates to as low as 30 paise/min which no other GSM or CDMA prepaid player has done before.The main catch here is the 149 rs monthly committment which is bit costly.
We say:-Suppose if a user is having a monthly prepaid budget of 400 rs
Then a recharge of 249 rs which gives 222 talktime and 300 sms+149 rs tariff recharge gives 740 minutes of local calling usage.
On the contrary if the subscriber opts for 333 recharge which gives 301 talktime and 750 free sms without any tariff recharge of 149 then he gets approximately 463 minutes(10 minutes daily charged at 1 rs/min for 3 mins and 50 paise for rest of the 7 minutes).
So opting for a 149 rs tariff booster is a wise idea if your monthly budget is approx 400 rs.
Virgin Mobile reduced incoming call credit from 10 paise to 5 paise

Virgin Mobile has reduced the 10 paise incoming credit per minute for every incomting call. All the new Virgin Mobile subscribers will now get only 5 paise/min for every incoming call.The reduction in incoming call credit has resulted because of TRAI's decision to reduce termination charges.
All new subscribers will get credit of 5 paise/min after the six months with Virgin Mobile. So a new subscriber will have to continue using Virgin Mobile for atleast first six months to get the incoming call credit. Exisiting customers will get the credit from May 1.
Virgin Mobile used the 10 paise/min offer for aggressive marketing to target youth when it was launched. It was able to do this by taking advantage of the termination charge other operators pay for every call terminated on its network. Last month, TRAI reduced this charge from 30 paise a minute to 20 paise.
