Airtel launches Mediphone health service in association with Healthfore

Bharti Airtel has launched a new health care service called Mediphone which is a unique 24X7 mHealth service which enables Airtel mobile customers to avail quality health advice through their mobile phones. Airtel has partnered with Healthfore (A division of Religare Technologies Ltd.), with Fortis Hospitals as knowledge partner for this health intiative.

The service is currently available for Airtel customers in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, NCR, UP, Uttarakhand, Himachal, Haryana and Punjab. Customers just need to dial 5-44-45 to avail of the facility. This service has been in pilot phase for the past 3 months in these circles and is said to be received well by Airtel mobile users.

BSNL introduces Kairali plan in Kerala

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced a new promotional CDMA Prepaid plan for its users in Kerala telecom circle. BSNL is giving away the RUIM free of cost and will not be charging any activation fee in this plan. All that the user needs to pay is Rs. 48 and gets Rs. 35 as initial talktime and a validity of 180 days.
Call charges for this plan are 49p/min for all on-net and off-net calls all over India. For the first 30 days users will get 50 MB of free data usage. After the free data users will be charged 10p/100Kb during peak hours (07:00AM – 11:00PM) and 5p/100Kb during off peak hours (11:00PM - 07:00AM). Users will also get 300 SMS free (50 SMS for 6 months within BSNL network).
Call charges for this plan are 49p/min for all on-net and off-net calls all over India. For the first 30 days users will get 50 MB of free data usage. After the free data users will be charged 10p/100Kb during peak hours (07:00AM – 11:00PM) and 5p/100Kb during off peak hours (11:00PM - 07:00AM). BSNL will be providing the 2G SIM card free of cost for everyone who opts for this plan. The cost of the starter pack is Rs. 60 and users will get bundled free talk-time of Rs. 20 and 200 SMS free for the first 30 days. HDFC Bank and Vodafone India have launched HDFC Bank MobileBank Account with Vodafone m-paisa nationally from Chomu which is on the outskirts of Jaipur, Rajasthan. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced a new offer for its users in Tamil Nadu. All users who agree to make a longer commitment of 6 months for BSNL's CDMA based EVDO service will be offered the EVDO Data Card FREE of cost.

Users will get unlimited data usage, if they agree to make a payment of Rs. 4500(Exclusive tax) in case of postpaid connection or Rs. 5000(Inclusive tax) for a prepaid connection for 6 months in advance.

Idea Cellular has announced the launch of a range of 3G smartphones starting at Rs. 5,850 onwards in India to strengthen and promote 3G services in the country.
