As we have already shared with you, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced a revision in its prepaid plans in view to abide by the TRAI’s new directives and made many changes in them.
According to the directives, now all Special Tariff Vouchers or STVs can only carry a maximum validity of 90 days. And in view of this BSNL has announced changes in the STVs that were available for Saral Anant users.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has introduced a new prepaid GSM plan for its users in Kolkata called Kolkata@5.
The speciality of the Kolkata@5 plan is that BSNL users will be able to make all local calls to any BSNL mobile number (in Kolkata only) at just 5/minute. Yes that is just 5 paise per minute.

Recently in the budget 2012, the Finance Minister of India announced an increase in the service tax by 2%. And now you may be wondering why we are so much concerned by it.
Right! The reason behind it is that with the increase of the service tax by 2% the service tax now stands at 12.36% as the previous 10.3%. Now with this prepaid mobile users will get a little less talktime whereas postpaid mobile users will have to pay a little more of the bill.

After a lot of hue and cry by mobile users all over the country over unsolicited calls and SMSs by advertisers, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India issued the “The Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, 2010” on 1st December 2010 whose provisions came into force from 27th September 2011.

This banned advertisers to call and SMSs to user registered under the Do Not Disturb (DND) Registry.

BSNL extends discount on 3G data plans

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced an extension to its already extended discount on selected 3G data plans in its Chennai and TamilNadu telecom circle.
Now BSNL 3G users will be able to opt for the 3G data plans 751, 1261 and 1576 at the existing (same) rates of Rs. 751, Rs. 1261 and Rs. 1576 for another 30 days, until 30-4-2012.

Epson, the well known printer maker has announced the launch of Android-powered goggles Epson Moverio. And the company has been able to launch these just before Google actually launches its own Glasses.

Airtel has announced two new innovative packs for its prepaid customers in Assam. The two packs are Message Mania RCV 11 & Talk around the Clock RCV 29 which offer extra calling minutes and SMS to the customers.


The RC29 pack comes with 120 local Airtel-to-Airtel minutes for prepaid customers in Assam, to talk throughout the day and night, making the effective cost in this pack as 24 paise per minute. This pack is available at Rs 29 only and is valid for 5 days.
