Aircel launches 3G experience zone in Chennai, Suriya makes first 3G video call

Aircel becomes the first telecom service provider to Launch 3G experience zone in Chennai for the consumers to get a feel of third generation mobile telephony. Aircel is now present in all 23 telecom circles. Vodafone offers discounted roaming rates to subscribers travelling for hajj pilgrimage

Vodafone Essar, recently announced discounted roaming rates for its prepaid and postpaid subscribers travelling to Mecca for the annual hajj pilgrimage. Vodafone is the first telecom operator to provide their customers with a product exclusively for Hajj pilgrims. Customers can enjoy reduced call rates on all incoming and outgoing calls while roaming in Saudi Arabia. This offer is valid up to November 28th 2010 i.e. the duration of the pilgrimage.Through this, Vodafone customers can enjoy 32% reduction in incoming rates and 29% reduction in outgoing rates to India or any other international destination. To activate this service, prepaid customers can buy a bonus card of Rs. 499/- and receive discounts on all voice calls and postpaid customers can pay a rent of Rs. 499/- and enjoy reduced rates on all voice calls.

As a festival offer MTNL Mumbai has announced an increase in talk time on its First Time Recharge Coupon (FTRC) of Rs 91 for SIM10. Under this scheme customers’ buying SIM 10 along with FTRC of Rs 91 will now get talk time of Rs 91 instead of Rs 41 which was provided earlier.

Reliance Communications, yesterday announced SMS based voice conference calls as an extension to its product Group Talk, a handset independent Mobile Conferencing service. This group-oriented service will be made available to all Reliance Mobile GSM and CDMA subscribers using any handset through the ‘SMS based Mobile Conferencing’ solution from US based Kodiak Networks, a global leader of group communications’ solutions. The Group Talk service will enable Reliance Mobile customers to establish a conference call amongst a group of 9 contacts with a single SMS.
Vodafone subscribers , who have not yet submitted their address and ID proof for verification, are required to do the needful latest by October 31, 2010 failing which their connections will be cancelled as directed by the Department of Telecommunications.
