In a bid to serve its users better and provide value for money service Airtel has introduces 2 new Rate Cutters, RC 39 and RC 154 for its users in Chennai and Tamil Nadu telecom circle.

With RC 39, Airtel users will be able to make all STD calls to their loved ones all over India at just 30p/minute. This includes calls to both on-net and off-net numbers. The validity of this RC is 30 days.

Idea introduces new recharge vouchers offering Voice Calling benefits in Assam & North East

Idea has today launched some special recharge vouchers for both, its new and existing prepaid subscribers in Assam & North East. These recharge vouchers give subscribers the benefit of calling a large base of Idea users and also other mobile users. The new recharge vouchers offer bulk minutes on mobile to mobile calling.


New users who recharge with Rs. 101 will get 1,000 minutes of Local Idea to Idea calling and 300 minutes of Idea to other local mobile network calling and with Rs. 201 voucher, they will get 2,000 minutes of Local Idea to Idea and 700 local minutes of Idea to other local mobile network calling. Idea's existing prepaid users can avail the same benefits with Rs. 97 voucher and Rs. 197 voucher, respectively to suit their pocket size and calling needs.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in a bid to attract more users and provide better service to its users has now introduces new unlimited WiMAX plans for its users in Tamil Nadu.
If any home user is interested in having a WiMAX connection for 12 months and is able to pay an upfront payment of Rs. 7500 then BSNL will provide him/her with one year of unlimited data transfer with a 54% discount on USB dongle or 36% discount on indoor CPE or 30% discount on outdoor CPE. Whereas if a users opts for 24 months of connection then BSNL will charge on Rs. 13,500 for 2 years of unlimited data transfer with free USB dongle, indoor CPE or outdoor CPE.

Minister of State for Communication and IT, Mr. Milind Deora has said, that Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the state-run national service provider is planning to lease it's infrastructure to private players, so as to make optimum use of the resources available and also to generate some revenue for the ailing PSU.

Deora has in a written reply said, "BSNL has about 60,000 towers across the country. BSNL management has decided to lease out spare capacity of its towers to other private players on commercial terms and conditions to generate incremental revenue." He also said that till now BSNL has shared around 1,072 towers with private service operators which in turn generate revenue for BSNL.
