Since its entry into the Telecom Industry TATA DOCOMO launched various offers which were Industry's first and this time also the GSM Telecom Operator has come up with something unique for its consumers.

I bet, you know what is Pay Per Second but now TATA DOCOMO has come with kinda similar phrase "PAY PER SITE". TATA DOCOMO'S new value added service 'Pay Per Site'  is based on “Pay-for-what-you-use” internet browsing model.

Those who only browse 2 or 3 sites regularly can now be free from monthly rentals and packs. Pay per site offers 2 combination packs, for those only interested in single websites can pay Rs. 10 per site whereas those with multiple site browsing can also opt for a combo pack at Rs. 25 per month. Customers will have bundle of options within various categories of Social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Orkut), mail options (Gmail, Yahoo, Rediff) and chat messengers (GTalk, Yahoo Messenger, Nimbuzz). Please note that there is a fair usage cap on all of these plans.

There are 2 different genres under which each service is categorized- Social Networking Site and Emailing and Instant Messaging. Each site under this genre is priced at Rs. 10/- bundled with 200 MB free data usage valid for 30 days, post which customers will be charged at 1p/kb. There are also 2 Combo options – SNS Combo Pack and Emailing Combo Pack and each Combo Pack is priced at Rs. 25 bundled with 500 MB free data usage post which the customers will be charged 1p/kb.

To activate the services, you can Dial *141# OR send an SMS with the keyword “MY SITE’ to 141 and follow further instructions OR visit Tata DOCOMO Dive in zone on mobile. You can also activate Pay per Site service through Tata DOCOMO website by clicking on the Pay Per Site link.

BSNL launches 2 new GPRS Packs and revises 1 existing GPRS Pack

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has announced the revision of Existing GPRS Pack of Rs. 14 and launched 2 New GPRS Packs of Rs. 7 and Rs. 555. BSNL will now offer 200 MB instead of 100 MB data usage of GPRS Pack of Rs. 14. Here are the details of New GPRS Packs and revised GPRS Pack.

BSNL (Kerala) offers extra talk time to celebrate Onam

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) is offering extra talk value on Top-ups as Onam offer to its customers in Kerala Telecom Circle.  These recharges can be availed by BSNL Kerala Telecom Circle Prepaid 2G and 3G subscribers via Paper coupouns and e-recharge. BSNL announces revision of browsing charges for APN 'bsnlstream'

bsnl-logo-150x150Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has announced revision browsing charges for its APN - 'bsnlstream'. This APN isused for TV viewing and streaming other video content. This revision of charges is for both 2G and 3G subscribers. BSNL is planning to implement these new charges before 15th August.

BSNL will charge its 3G Prepaid and Postpaid mobile subscribers and 2G Prepaid and Postpaid mobile subscribers, on the basis of the plan which they are using if usage are within the limit, beyond that customers will be charged 0.25 paise per 10KB or as per plan whichever is lower.

In case of 3G Data Card users, when usage will exceed beyond the usage limit of the plan, charges will be 25 paise per MB or as per plan whichever is lower.

MTNL (Mumbai) introduces Add–On Packs for its Landline customers

mtnl-logoMTNL Mumbai has introduced Add-on packs on Landline. Customers having landline facility can attach the Add-on pack with the existing monthly plan and avail extra free calls offered under these packs during the month. There are three Add- on- packs of monthly rental Rs 50, Rs 100 and Rs 200. These packs offer 65, 140 and 290 calls free respectively. The customers can avail this facility by dialing the Call center. Customers will be charged for these packs in their bill and the Free calls will be credited to their account. The validity of the packs is only for one month. If the customers wish to continue or change the Add- on pack they need to subscribe again the next month.

TTSL Launches Photon Wi-Fi Pocket Router

It enables multiple users and devices to share wireless Internet access and stay connected on the go. The Tata Photon Wi-Fi Router allows broadband Internet access speeds up to 3.1 Mbps (downlink) and 1.8 Mbps (uplink).

Tata Photon Wi-Fi Pocket Router is supported with an in-built battery for 2.5 hours of seamless operation and sports a RJ45 Ethernet port for local area network (LAN) support. This feature allows you to plug the device into your laptop or desktop and get connected.

The Tata Photon Wi-Fi Pocket Router will be available in four cities to begin with—Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. The device is priced at Rs 6,500 in the open market, but is being made available at an introductory price of Rs 4,999.

Virgin Mobile launches 'MUSIC UNLIMITED' service

virgin-mobile-logo-2Virgin Mobile today announced  launch of its music service - “MUSIC UNLIMITED.”  Music Unlimited offers the freedom to its customers to enjoy any form of music be it as their Tring Tune (CRBT), ringtone (MP3/Poly/Mono) or download of full songs onto their mobile at no cost, however to avail this services, customers will have to call at 586865 which is charged at 10p/sec (Rs. 6 per minute) 

This service allows Virgin Mobile customers to download free content  music library comprising over 1.5 lakh songs spanning various genres, ranging from latest Bollywood chartbusters (Hello Darling, Dabaang, Ashayein, etc), Western Rock, Pop, Bhangra, Indi Pop, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam (Aathmakadha, Avan, etc) and much more.

TATA Indicom launches 'ULTA PLAN', STD @ 30p and local calls @ 50p

tata-indicom-logo-1Tata Indicom today launched another industry-first, ‘ULTA PLAN’. So why is the name so ULTA, it is so becuase it offers STD call rates cheaper than local call rates. It offers a STD calling tariff of 30 paise per minute. With ULTA PLAN, subscribers will be able to make local calls at 50 paise per minute.

Potential Pre-paid subscribers can avail of the benefits of ULTA PLAN by recharging their number with First Recharge Vouchers available at an MRP of Rs 58 and Rs 104, wherein they can make STD calls at just 30 paise per minute for a period of three months from the very date of recharge for the first 600 minutes per month—after this usage, STD calls will be charged at 50 paise per minute. The vouchers come with free lifetime incoming call validity and provide talk-time worth Rs 32.58 and 74.29, respectively. Furthermore, SMSes would be offered at a price of 50 paise for both national and local messages.

Existing subscribers can also avail of the benefit of STD calling at just 30 paise per minute for the first 600 minutes across India by recharging with other ‘ULTA Plan Special Tariff Vouchers’ available at Rs 26 in the Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Kolkata, Mumbai and Maharashtra & Goa Circles—and at Rs 16 in Jammu & Kashmir, UP East, MPCG, RoWB, Orissa, Assam, North-East, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, UP West, Rajasthan and Gujarat—with a validity of 30 days. For local calls, existing subscribers will be charged 50 paise per minute.

To activate the ULTA PACK with an SMS, subscribers have to SMS ‘GET ULTA’ to 12524. To avail the benefit through an SMS, customers will be charged Rs. 24 in Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Kolkata, Mumbai and Maharashtra & Goa, while customers in Jammu & Kashmir, UP East, MPCG, RoWB, Orissa, Assam, North-East, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, UP West, Rajasthan and Gujarat can avail the same at Rs. 15.

BSNL launches new Minute & SMS based Special Tariff Vouchers

BSNL has announced new Minute and SMS based Special Tariff Vouchers (STV) for its Prepaid subscribers. The New STVs are STD 119, STD 66, Local 250, Local 199, Combo 199, Combo 109 and Combo 39. These new STVs will be available from 9th August 2010.

  • The free minutes/SMSs offered are to be consumed within the validity period. No carry forward of unutilized minutes/SMS are allowed.

RCOM ties up with Universal Music to provide music services to its GSM, CDMA, 3G and Mobile Broadband customers

rcom-universal-3gReliance Communications today announced the signing of an exclusive strategic partnership with Universal Music to offer music-related services and content across RCOM’s GSM, CDMA, 3G Mobile and Wireless Broadband platforms. The agreement between Reliance Communications and Universal Music has been signed with a commitment of substantial investments to be made by both the parties to offer 360 degree music experience to customers across all platforms including Voice, WAP, Web, IVR, Blog & through On-Ground Events.

The agreement with Universal is a prelude to RCOM’s 3G launch since Music offers the potential to provide the best consumer experience on 3G network. This is the first ever biggest & most comprehensive music partnership signed in India by a telecom operator. Universal will offer its entire catalogue of international and Indian music to RCOM. Universal’s music catalogue boasts of some of the best of Indian & western billboard artists such as Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, The Black Eyed Peas, Enrique Iglesias, Eminem, Lady Gaga amongst Others. 

RCOM’s agreement with Universal Music is in line with similar deals signed by the conglomerate with other global operators across the globe including with UK Orange, SingTel, Digi Malaysia, Bouygues Telecom, France Orange, Belgium Base and other Eastern European Operators.

RCOM and Universal Music will also arrange exclusive Indian concerts with Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mohit Chauhan and others. The partners will also line-up international concert with contemporary pop singers currently ruling the billboard charts worldwide.

As part of the first consumer effort Reliance Communications is launching Simply Music Initiative across the country. This is a holistic music pack offering services like exclusive caller tunes, ring tones, Mobile Radio Web Streaming, Full tracks etc for all Reliance customers across GSM and CDMA networks. Simply Music comprises of two packs – Gold and Platinum.
  • The Simply Music Gold Pack will comprise of 3 full length track, 3 ringtone, 4 callertune and 30 minutes mobile Radio Web streaming. This pack will be available for a monthly subscription of Rs 25 only.
  • The Simply Music Platinum Pack will comprise of 10 full length tracks, 10 ringtones, 10 callertunes and 100 minutes of mobile Radio Web streaming. The Platinum pack will be available for a monthly subscription of Rs 99 only.
