Idea Cellular Introduces New VAS 'PreTones' in AP

IDEA Cellular today announced the launch of a first-of-its-kind Value Added Service, titled ‘PreTones’ for mobile consumers in Andhra Pradesh. In line with its strategy to drive mobile innovation, Idea has launched ‘PreTones’, in partnership with Oorja Mobile Services, to offer exclusive content to its over 6 million subscribers in the state. Idea Mobile subscribers using ‘PreTones’ can enjoy listening to highly compelling content of their choice, every time they make a voice call. A rich portfolio of content such as live cricket action, jokes to tickle the funny bone, breaking news as it happens, astrology forecast, latest movie review and spicy Bollywood gossip, will be available at the user’s fingertips. The caller can listen to these updates, before the call gets connected.
Idea subscribers can access this unique service by simply dialling 55955 from their mobile phone, for Re. 1 per day. The content is live and available for all prepaid Idea subscribers in Andhra Pradesh. PreTones’ users can register their preferences on the IVR, and can resume listening to the content by dialling 55955, after the call is completed.

Vodafone (Kolkata) Postpaid subscribers can now get tariff details and information on various offers on their current talk plan. Vodafone today announced the launch of ‘Myplan’ service for its postpaid customers in Kolkata. This service empowers the customers to avail tariff details and information on various offers on their current talk plan.To use this service all you need to do is send a SMS <Myplan>to 111. This is a toll free number. Once you do that you will receive an SMS with your account details.SMS <Myplan> to 111 (toll free), a customer will receive an instant response stating their account details.
Tata Indicom Introduces Prepaid BlackBerry services with weekly plans

Tata Teleservices Limited today announced the launch Industry's first, prepaid BlackBerry services with weekly plans. Under prepaid segment, BlackBerry users have two service plans - Blackberry Messaging Bundle and BlackBerry Internet Bundle to choose from. Blackberry Messaging Bundle and BlackBerry Internet Bundle are available at a monthly package of Rs 299 , Rs 900 and weekly package of Rs 85 and Rs 250 respectively.Under BlackBerry Messaging Bundle service plan, users get unlimited access to e-mail and instant messaging. It allows customers to access as many as ten email accounts on Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, Google Mail and chat on popular messengers like Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk and Yahoo! Messenger. As an additional benefit BlackBerry handheld shows multiple mailboxes in a single screen and also it supports various formats like Microsoft Word (.doc), Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt), Microsoft Excel (.xls) ,Adobe pdf (.pdf), Corel WordPerfect (.wpd), ASCII text (.txt), ZIP Archive ( .zip), Images (.jpg, .bmp, .png, .gif, .tiff).
With BlackBerry Internet Bundle, users get unlimited access to web browsing on the handheld in addition to unlimited usage on instant messaging and access to as many as 10 POP3 email accounts with unlimited email access.
Both the plans are applicable on all BlackBerry smartphones from Tata Indicom.

Yes, its party time for Reliance users. Reliance Mobile recently crossed the milestone of 100 million customers. To celebrate it Reliance Mobile is offering Free R2R calls from the midnight of 28th March. Reliance customers can now make free Reliance to Reliance calls all over India without any pack for a day. Reliance had already notified couple of days back about their aggressive plans on the occassion of reaching a subscriber base of 100 million.To avail this offer a subscriber should have atleast Rs.10 in their main account.

Tata Docomo Introduces 'SMS PACK' in Mumbai, Maharashtra and Goa circle

Tata Docomo has finally launched Local and National SMS Pack for subscribers in Mumbai,Maharashtra and Goa after a huge debate over this issue on Tata Docomo's Official Orkut Community.You can check the heated discussion between Tata Docomo subscribers and the owner of Tata Docomo community here
This topic was started by none other than me. It got huge response in the community.The owner of Tata Docomo community had given our feedback and complaints to their management and the result is in front of us today.
Following are the details of this pack:
For subscribers in Mumbai :
Customer has to do a special evd recharge of Rs.85 to get 15,000 Local and National SMS valid for 30 days.
For subscribers in Maharashtra and Goa :
Customer has to do a special evd recharge of Rs.60 to get 15,000 Local and National SMS valid for 30 days.
Both circles can use SMS PACK with any other special recharge offer.
This is a very good move by Tata Docomo as there was no sms pack for National sms in both circles. TATA DOCOMO customers were spending 1.20 Rs for a national sms so this pack however costly will give some relief to SMS lovers and stop them from shifting to other providers.

Vodafone launches IPL Bonus Recharge

Vodafone Essar today announced an exclusive IPL Bonus Recharge for all Vodafone Prepaid customers in the country. IPL Bonus Recharge is priced at Rs.71 and offers customers full talk-time (less Service tax). In addition, customers will get bonus minutes equal to the highest runs scored by a batsman in an IPL match on the previous day. These additional minutes will be valid for a period of 5 days from the day of the recharge, and can be utilized for calls to Local Vodafone numbers during night hours.
Kumar Ramanathan, Chief Marketing Officer, Vodafone Essar said, “Our aim has always been to provide innovative and superior services that benefit our customers. Reliance Communications, today announced 2 topup e-recharges for its CDMA as well as GSM prepaid subscribers in Karnataka, which in return offer full talktime in the first month and additional talktime in the subsequent months. In case of 333, the additional talktime that is offered is Rs 33 every month for the next 2 months and in 666 it is Rs 66 every month for the next 5 months.In addition, The subscribers opting for Reliance mobile GSM service will get a new series of Mobile Numbers beginning with 7676, which was hitherto assigned only to landline subscribers. However, this unique series is now being extended to the GSM mobile subscribers for its customers in Karnataka.
Videocon Launches Mobile Services In Chennai

Videocon Telecommunications Ltd announced the launch of its GSM Mobile services in Chennai-Tamilnadu.The operator said that the commercial services will be available from 27 March 2010 in Chennai and in the next fortnight, Videocon GSM mobile services will be rolls out in Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Mumbai telecom circle.Videocon GSM Prepaid Sim Card will be available from 27th March 2010 across the Chennai and it costs Rs.49 with the talk-time of Rs 5.With First Recharge of Rs.31 Subscriber can enjoy Rs.25 of Talk-Value Plus Pay-per-second billing tariff and also Rs.75 as bonus talk-value as a promotional offer.

Uninor emerges strong in its first 100 days in Andhra Pradesh

Uninor which was the largest Greenfield launch operation in telecom history marks its 100 days in Andhra Pradesh by establishing its geographical base in 23 districts, 423 towns and 1328 villages.
