TTL crosses 75 million subscribers’ mark

Tata Teleservices Limited has added 2.32 million new subscribers (wireless and wireline) in the month of July 2010 to cross the 75-million-subscribers’ milestone in just over five-and-a-half years since the launch of its mobile telephony services in early 2005. The company closed the month of July with a total of 76,058,908 subscribers (wireless and wireline), as on 31 July 2010. The company has shown a subscriber growth rate of more than 100 per cent in the last 12 months—from 38 million subscribers in July 2009.Commenting on the landmark achievement, Mr. Anil Sardana, Managing Director of Tata Teleservices Limited, said: “We thank and appreciate every subscriber’s faith in us as a transparent, caring and efficient telecom services company. With each new milestone crossed, we have raised our own internal benchmarks—in keeping with our larger objective of consistently enhancing and improving our standards, and of providing our customers with differentiated and lifestyle-impacting telecom services. TATA Indicom launches 'ULTA PLAN', STD @ 30p and local calls @ 50p

Tata Indicom today launched another industry-first, ‘ULTA PLAN’. So why is the name so ULTA, it is so becuase it offers STD call rates cheaper than local call rates. It offers a STD calling tariff of 30 paise per minute. With ULTA PLAN, subscribers will be able to make local calls at 50 paise per minute.Potential Pre-paid subscribers can avail of the benefits of ULTA PLAN by recharging their number with First Recharge Vouchers available at an MRP of Rs 58 and Rs 104, wherein they can make STD calls at just 30 paise per minute for a period of three months from the very date of recharge for the first 600 minutes per month—after this usage, STD calls will be charged at 50 paise per minute. The vouchers come with free lifetime incoming call validity and provide talk-time worth Rs 32.58 and 74.29, respectively. Furthermore, SMSes would be offered at a price of 50 paise for both national and local messages.
Existing subscribers can also avail of the benefit of STD calling at just 30 paise per minute for the first 600 minutes across India by recharging with other ‘ULTA Plan Special Tariff Vouchers’ available at Rs 26 in the Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Kolkata, Mumbai and Maharashtra & Goa Circles—and at Rs 16 in Jammu & Kashmir, UP East, MPCG, RoWB, Orissa, Assam, North-East, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, UP West, Rajasthan and Gujarat—with a validity of 30 days. For local calls, existing subscribers will be charged 50 paise per minute.
To activate the ULTA PACK with an SMS, subscribers have to SMS ‘GET ULTA’ to 12524. To avail the benefit through an SMS, customers will be charged Rs. 24 in Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Kolkata, Mumbai and Maharashtra & Goa, while customers in Jammu & Kashmir, UP East, MPCG, RoWB, Orissa, Assam, North-East, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, UP West, Rajasthan and Gujarat can avail the same at Rs. 15.
Tata Indicom's "Lets Rock" plan reloaded in Maharashtra and Goa (Including Mumbai)

Tata Indicom has launched an updated version of their much famous Lets Rock plan in Mumbai, Maharashtra and Goa.This plan is a combo of "Pay Per Second" and "Pay Per Call Flexi" with the per second tariff applicable in morning and Pay Per Call tariff applicable at night.In previous Let's Rock plan all local calls were charged at 50 paise/min during day and 25 paise/min during night and according to new tariff the day calling tariff is 1 paise/sec (60 paise/min) and night tariff is 1 Rs/5 mins (20 paise/min).Following are the tariff details:-
First Local or STD minute of the day will be charged at Rs.1 and thereafter the following tariff will be applicable.
From 9 am to 9 pm
All Local & STD calls are charged at 1 paise/sec
Calls to US & Canada at Rs.1/min
From 9 pm to 9 am
All Local calls are charged at 1 Rs./5 mins
All STD calls are charged at 2 Rs./5 mins
Calls to US & Canada at Rs.1/min
SMS Tariff:-
All local and National SMS at 1 paise/sms subject to a maximum of 100 sms/day after which the subscriber will be charged 50 paise for the same.
No daily rental applicable on this scheme.
This is an average scheme when compared with the previous tariff of Lets Rock.There was still a room for improvement in this scheme. It would have been better had the night tariff been 1 paise/3 seconds instead of the pay per call flexi scheme.
Tata Indicom (Prepaid) launches 'Unlimited Plans'

Tata Indicom has launched unlimited plans for its pre-paid mobile customers. The unlimited offer is designed keeping three user categories in mind, leading to three different offerings—Unlimited Tata-to-Tata Pack; Unlimited Local Call Pack and Unlimited Local & STD Call Pack.The Unlimited Tata-to-Tata Pack is available in denominations of Rs 595 and Rs 995 and offers a validity of three and months, respectively, with unlimited local calls between Tata numbers, while calls to other mobiles will be charged as per the base plan.
The second offer, the Unlimited Local Call Pack, is priced at Rs 97 and Rs 299, and provides a validity of seven days and 30 days, respectively, offering unlimited local calls to Tata numbers; for non-Tata numbers, 30 minutes of free talk-time can be availed of daily, with double that talk-time being offered free on Sundays.
The third offer, the Unlimited Local & STD Call Pack, is also available in two denominations—Rs 197 and Rs 599, with seven and 30 days’ validity—providing unlimited calls (both local and STD) to Tata numbers. For any calls to other networks, the plan offers 30 minutes free-talk time on weekdays and 60 minutes of free talk-time on Sundays.
LIVE Streaming OF ASIA CUP now available to Tata Indicom and Tata DOCOMO subscribers

TATA Teleservices has entered into an exclusive partnership with Apalya to offer live streaming of Asia Cup for both Tata Photon Plus users and Tata DOCOMO subscribers. TATA subscribers can now stream live content, listen to score updates, download special videos and get SMS alerts for Asia Cup matches.
For Tata Photon Plus customers
Asia Cup is accessible on Tata Photon Plus customers' Mobile and laptop using Tata Photon TV, with the addition of an exclusive channel telecasting the event. The pricing for the event on laptop is Rs 5 per match; Rs 25 for the full tournament while Asia Cup is available absolutely free of cost for Tata Photon TV on Mobile. Tata Photon TV is available only on LG 510, Samsung-Corby, Samsung-M519-Metro & Blackberry-9630 (Pre imbedded).

- Live streaming of Asia cup matches on mobile using GPRS. Tata DOCOMO subscribers have to download MiMobiTV, a GPRS based application that allows to watch Asia Cup 2010 on streaming enabled Mobile handsets. Subscribers can download the client application at no cost while browsing the content is charged at 1p/1 KB in home network and 10p/10KB while on off net roaming. - Tata DOCOMO customers can get Asia cup updates on SMS that is available in three different packs; Daily pack at Rs 5 for every match, Weekly pack at Rs 10 for 7days and Monthly pack at Rs 30 for 30 days. Users can also avail of Daily match updates via Voice packs by dialling 54321194 @ Rs. 5 per Match day.
- Using the GPRS platform, Tata DOCOMO subscribers have a choice to download exclusive videos of Asia Cup. The Asia Cup Portal by Vuclip will have videos of Match Highlights, Wickets, Fours & Sixes. Users can watch the video clips of match being played as well as previous matches. Data charges as per the data tariff plan of the user.
Tata Teleservices Limited reaches 70 million subscribers' milestone

Tata Teleservices Limited has added 2.33 million new subscribers in the month of May 2010 to cross the 70-million-subscribers milestone in a span of just over five years since the launch of its mobile telephony services in early 2005. On buying BlackBerry Curve 8530 smartphone before 30th June TATA Indicom customers will get two months of free data services, TATA Indicom is also offering 3 months of free live TV. Tata Teleservices Limited today introduced Special Tariff Voucher (STV) 199 Happy Sunday for Tata Walky customers in Kolkata telecom circles. STV 199 Happy Sunday not only offers Tata Walky customers with fabulous rates for calls made to all telecom networks but also gives subscribers two hours of free talk time every Sunday.Priced at Rs 199, the voucher comes with a validity of 30 days from the day of recharge, and customers can make locals calls to any Tata number—be it to Tata Indicom or Tata Walky connections at 25 paise per minute. Local calls to other networks can be made at 35 paise per minute. The new STV also allows Tata Walky customers to make STD calls to any network at a flat call rate of 45 paise per minute.
The 120 minutes of free talk-time that customers can avail of every Sunday includes 60 minutes of talk-time for calls within the Tata network and 60 minutes to calls on any other network—furthermore, the free talk-time can be used for making both local and STD calls. ‘SSC and CBSE Results’ now available on Tata Indicom

TATA Indicom announced that its customers can now know SSC and CBSE Board Exam results on SMS. The customers can simply follow a few instructions to instantly get the results on their Tata Indicom mobile phones.To check SSC results, customers need to dial 505101096 and provide the students’ Roll Number. Further more Tata Indicom also offers a feature of “Pre-registration”, wherein customers can register their Roll Numbers by dialing 505101096 and they will be notified through an SMS as soon as the results are announced. As a second option customers can also have a choice of getting the result by sending an SMS to 58282. Ex: SMS RESULT to 58282. Each SMS service will be charged at Rs. 3 per SMS and for IVR at Rs. 6 per minute.
While for CBSE results, the customers also have a choice of opting for SMS or IVR service. For class 10 result the customer needs to SMS <CBSE10 roll no > to 582821 at a charge of 50 paise per SMS. Similarly for Class 12 results, the customer can SMS <CBSE12 roll no > to 582821 at 50 paise each SMS. To avail the same service on IVR the customer needs to dial 12971 and provide the students’ Roll Number. The IVR service is chargeable at Rs.1.20 per 3 minutes.
Customers may also visit Tata ZONE and opt for ‘Exam Results’, to check the result. The service will be charged at Rs 5 per request, available on all brew enabled handsets.
