Tata Photon TV offers Movies on Demand

Tata Teleservices Limited announced the launch of a new feature on its premium offering, Tata Photon TV using Photon Plus. Now, users can subscribe to the ongoing and latest movies from the library of movies available on Tata Photon TV application. The feature is being offered for the first time in India to all Tata Photon+ existing and new subscribers. The subscription validity for each movie will be for 30 days.Tata Photon TV application is available as a part of the dialer of Tata Photon+ device. To subscribe the feature of ‘Movies on Photon TV’, subscribers have to select a channel ‘Movies’ from the category displayed on the Photon TV page. Post selecting the channel, subscribers have to click on a particular movie to subscribe the same. Each movie mentioned in the list will be rated at three levels: Low, Medium and High, as per the popularity and acceptability. Accordingly, the subscription is available in 3 different denominations; Rs 25 per month Rs 50 per month and Rs 75 per month depending on popularity of the movies. With an aim to target the masses, both Hindi and regional movies are hosted.
Please note: Data Charges will be applicable as per the customer’s data plan while viewing on Tata Photon TV.

TATA Teleservices limited and Acer India announced the launch of their Next-Generation Netbook-the Aspire One AOD 260 which will be embedded with Tata photon+, this Netbook will give users high-speed Internet access for connectivity on the go, at broadband speeds. This product is launched to boost productivity and enhance the mobile computing experience.Tata Teleservices Limited announced a strategic alliance with Acer India, due to which the Aspire One will be made available at all the TTSL retail outlets in Mumbai and Delhi during the first phase of the launch. This Netbook will be giving up to 3.1 Mbps access speed.

Tata Indicom, the CDMA arm of Tata Teleservices Limited and Research in Motion (RIM) announced the launch of the BlackBerry Bold 9650, the first combined CDMA-GSM 3G-ready Smartphone in the BlackBerry Bold series. The BlackBerry Bold 9650, introduced exclusively by Tata Teleservices Limited is a new Smartphone for CDMA subscribers, offering seamless global roaming, 512 MB of Flash Memory, an Optical Trackpad, and enhanced Wi-Fi and GPS capabilities.Customers purchasing the BlackBerry Bold 9650 Smartphone in the month of October will also be given a special data usage offer. For the first two months, these customers will receive a free data pack worth Rs.900 per month, as well as 500 MB of tethered modem data usage per month. Tata Indicom has launched a new value-added service ‘Comedy Junction’ through its voice portal, for all the prepaid and postpaid subscribers across India. It’s a service wherein, users can listen to renowned stand-up comedians like Raju Srivastava, Ehsaan Qureshi, Ranvir Shorey, Bhagwat Mann, Suresh Albela and many more by simply dialing the interactive voice portal 12903. Also, users can access various other categories such as Love Jokes, Pranks and Shayari, etc. Customers can avail a trial period of 5 minutes free of cost to experience the service before subscribing for it. It is available at a monthly subscription of Rs 30 with toll free browsing of up to 60 minutes. TTL Crosses 80 Million Subscribers’ Mark

Tata Teleservices Limited has been growing, in terms of subscribers, since the launch of its GSM service under brand name - TATA DOCOMO. Today the company announced that they have crossed 80 million subsribers' milestone. It added 2.14 million new subscribers (wireless and wireline) in the month of September 2010 to cross the 80-million-subscribers’ milestone to reach a total of 8,03,06,495 subscribers.In a statement Mr Anil Sardana, Managing Director of Tata Teleservices Limited, said “We thank and value every subscriber’s faith in us as a transparent, caring and competent telecom services company.The achievement bears testimony to the positive recognition and acceptance of our innovative offerings by our subscribers. Tata Teleservices Limited introduces Commonwealth Games 2010 VAS portfolio

Starting from today Common Wealth Games 2010 ( CWG 2010) will be held in New Delhi. This 12 day Mega Sporting event will end on 14th October 2010. To keep its subscribers updated with CWG 2010 happeining, Tata Teleservices Limited has introduced a Commonwealth 2010 Value Added Service portfolio for all Tata DOCOMO, Tata Indicom and Virgin Mobile customers.TATA Indicom customers can access four services—Commonwealth Games on SMS, Commonwealth Games Zone, Commonwealth Games Radio and Commonwealth Games Theme as Welcome Tune.
- Commonwealth Games on SMS offers latest updates on medal tallies, news, alerts and more at a monthly pack of Rs 30 and a daily pack of Rs 5. The customer needs to message <SUB CWG> to 582820 for monthly subscription while <DCWG> to 58282 for daily subscription.
- Commonwealth Games Zone offers news, videos, ringtones, wallpapers, alerts etc. applicable at basic data surfing charges. The customer needs to visit Tata Zone and further chose the subject of interest under Commonwealth Games.
- Commonwealth Games Radio offers information about news, medal tallies, trivia and interesting, unique facts about Delhi, Commonwealth Games and more. The customer needs to call at 58888108 at Rs 3 per minute to avail the service.
- Commonwealth Games Theme that can be set as Welcome Tune is available through an SMS, WT459522 to 12800 at a monthly subscription of Rs 10.
- Commonwealth Games on SMS offers game alerts on SMS at Rs 10 for the entire Commonwealth tenure while the same service can be availed at Rs 5 on a daily basis as well. The subscriber needs to message <SUB CWG> to 54321 for receiving alerts for the entire Commonwealth tenure and <SUB UCWG> to 54321 for daily alerts.
- Commonwealth Games Theme Song download with full sound track of ‘Swagatham’ composed by A R Rehman (Promo Id 462493), and ‘Yaroon Jashn Manao’ by Kailash Kher (Promo Id 469871). There are five interesting version of Swagatham that the customer can listen and choose from. To listen to the complete song, the customer needs to call at 543219; while to download either of the songs, they can SMS <Promo ID> to 543211 or 543217. Also to set CWG theme song, as their caller tune, customers can call at 543211 or 543217 and follow the instructions for subscription.
- Commonwealth Games on Radio offers LIVE 24 hours a day service till 14th October. It also offers Jock Talk, where in the Radio Jockey (RJ) will engage the user with information about the games; Sheru, with CWG mascot giving some insights into the games and will tell about his own experiences as a player, as an audience, as a cheerleader, as a media person and as a Delhi’s common man; Infotainment, where the RJ will give out important and relevant news to the listeners, such as latest developments regarding the games venues, latest developments in the city and latest sporting events relating to CWG; News, with A Quick bite of CWG, which will have dynamic information related to the medal tally, Teams standings, interesting facts, records, events information and upcoming events for the day and Games Info with a complete dope on the schedules, Star Players information both Indian and International, their performance and General trivia. To avail the entire lot of services the customer can call at 58888108 chargeable at 5 paise per second.
- Dive In portal link will have CWG theme songs sung by A R Rehman available for Download (MP3, True tone, Poly tone, Full Song download). It will also have the other sports theme songs such as Chak De India, Jai Ho, etc. This link would also contain a Game of the Day service which customer can subscribe @ Rs 15 for a particular game such as Hockey, Boxing, football, etc and Rs 30 for other games.
Virgin Mobile customers can avail three services—Special SMS Pack, CWG Special Tring Tunes and CWG Special Zone on the vBytes Portal. These services are applicable across all operating telecom Circles, and each mobile brand will offer differentiated services to both pre-paid and post-paid customers.
- Special SMS Pack offers various information such as Match Schedule, Medal Position, India Wrap, World Wrap, Quotes, News on games. To avail this service, a customer has to simply send a message <CWG> to 58000 chargeable at Re 1/day.
- Tring Tunes (CRBT)—Virgin Mobile customers will be able to download CWG special multimodal with the theme songs composed by A R Rehman and Kailash Kher. The multimodal will have other Rehman’s and sports theme songs such as Chak De India, Jai Ho, etc. To avail this service, a customer has to call at 58686115 chargeable @ Rs 6/minute.
- Vbytes Portal—A CWG special Zone has been created with the focus on CWG theme songs, ringtones (MP3; true; poly) and patriotic theme ringtones on the portal.

Tata Indicom launches ‘Doctor on Call’ Service

Tata Teleservices Limited today announced "Doctor on Call" service in partnership with Rx Healthcare Magic Pvt. Ltd. This service provides assistance under any medical emergency situations and also provides medical consultations. The calls for consultation are chargeable at Rs. 9 per minute.To avail Tata Indicom - Doctor on Call service, subscribers need to dial 54887, and a doctor registers the personal data and medical history of the subscriber. The attending Doctor diagnoses the cases whether they feel that the subscribers’ case falls under the given three options- Acute/ Chronic/ Emergency. If it is an acute condition, the caller will be given three different diagnoses by the attending doctor who will also suggest some home remedy to the caller for immediate relief.

Tata Teleservices Limited crosses 75 million wireless subscribers’ mark

Tata Teleservices Limited has crossed 75 million wireless subscribers’ milestone. The company has added 2.1 million new wireless subscribers in the month of August 2010 to reach this milestone. It took Tata Teleservices Limited about five and a half years since the launch of its mobile telephony services in early 2005 to have a total of 76,946,216 subscribers, as on 31 August 2010. Both Tata Teleservices Limited and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited have shown a subscriber growth rate of more than 100 per cent in the last 12 months—from 38 million subscribers in July 2009. According to Wireless Services Providers' data of July 2010, Tata Teleservices also became 4th-largest-wireless operator in the country with 13.69% of total market share.

TATA Indicom launches ‘Call-n-Tweet’ service

TATA Indicom subscribers can now Tweet on Voice. This ‘Call-n-Tweet’ service will enable Tata Indicom subscribers to update their Twitter status by posting Voice Tweets (short audio snippets) from their mobile without logging on the internet. To use this service TATA Indicom subsribers need to sign up at callntweet.com by using their twitter account details. Once registration is complete users can Voice tweet by dialing 50007. The subscribers pay a price of Re 0.80 for sending a voice tweet from their mobile.
The Call-n-Tweet service on Tata Teleservices network had been sourced from Kirusa.
