Tata Docomo introduces local calling pack in Maharashtra, 75,000 seconds in Rs. 299

tatadocomolocalpack1Tata Docomo has launched its first of a kind local calling pack which gives user the freedom to call any local number in Mumbai and Maharashtra circle for 75,000 seconds(1250 minutes) on a special recharge of Rs. 299 valid for 30 days. The effective calling rate applicable on this recharge is merely 24 paise.

This pack of Tata Docomo is in clear competition with Uninor's local calling pack which offers somewhat similar scheme priced at Rs. 198.Uninor's local calling pack gives 1,20,000 On-net and 42,000 Off-net seconds. The effective Off-net calling rate applicable on uninor is approximately 29 paise. Tata Docomo evolves as a clear winner as far as Off-net calling is concerned. However uninor is offering a mix of On-net and Off-net calling at a relatively lower rate of Rs. 198 so its rather convenient for a user to go with this pack for calling on home and other network.

However, this pack is good for those who are heavy on calling. With MNP round the corner, we might see similar local calling packs by every operator to woo the customer with lower effective calling rate. These packs will also help the telecom operators to up the ARPU(Average Revenue Per User).
