Sony Xperia Ion LTE packed with 4.6-inch 720p display and 12 MP camera heads to AT&T this spring

The first prominent thing to lookout in this phone is the absense of "Ericsson". This phone is announced with Sony branding, following Sony's buyout of Ericsson.

Sony Xperia Ion features a 4.6-inch 720p display running on 1.5 GHz dual core Qualcomm processor, 12 MP camera built with Exmor R sensor, having the functionality to click stills in 1.5 seconds, 1.3 MP front-facing camera with 720p video recording and 16 GB onboard storage.
 
Unfortunately, this phone runs on Gingerbread and one can expect the Ice Cream Sandwich update later after the launch.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD to be announced at CES 2012

News is around that Sony Ericsson will be launching the Xperia HD at CES Las Vegas next week. The smartphone was rumoured earlier as the Arc HD and various pictures were leaked in the past.

Sony Ericsson planning to unveil a Windows Phone Device at CES 2012?

Sony Ericsson has been spreading word over all its social networking accounts, asking users to guess as to what they'll reveal at the CES.

Wild guesses can be the SE Nozomi which has been spotted many times earlier and is speculated to be the Xperia Arc HD. This is being said as last year at the CES 2010, Sony Ericsson unveiled the Xperia Arc. The other device which we could see is the LT28at which is probably going to arrive with a 4.55 inch screen and a whooping 13 MP camera.

Ice Cream Sandwich coming to Xperia devices in March end-April 2012

Back in October we saw Sony Ericsson announce that Android 4.0 Ice Cream will arrive on Xperia range of devices and now the company has announced the approximate release date of the upgrade.

Sony Ericsson has now confirmed that by the end of March-April beginning 2012, Xperia device which include Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V and Xperia ray will receive the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade. Soon after that, starting from end April-early May devices including Xperia arc, Xperia PLAY, Xperia neo, Xperia mini and mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia active and also Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman will get their ICS upgrades.

Sony Ericsson LT28at to arrive with 4.55 inch screen and 13MP camera

It seems like Sony Ericsson is trying hard to get a little hold in the US as details of the upcoming device which may head on to AT&T's network.

Sony Ericsson Xperia owners now get 50GB of online storage from Box.net

We earlier reported that Sony Ericsson will be offering free cloud storage to Xperia users in the UK, well now it is official and the good news is that it will be available globally. Users of Xperia devices including and above Xperia 10 will get 50GB of online storage facility from Box.net. With this offer users can store most of their digital data over Box.net.

Sony Ericsson releases Alpha ROM of ICS for unlocked Xperia devices

Just a few days back we saw how Sony Ericsson explained to us the long procedure that takes place before an OS upgrade is released and now the company is has released an Alpha ROM of Ice Cream Sandwich for selected devices. If you are a developer and own an unlocked Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S, Xperia neo V or Xperia Ray then SE has released an Alpha ROM of Ice Cream sandwich for you to try and develop your apps.

Most of the normal services are not operational in this ROM, so it is not for day-to-day use. But if you want to install it over any of the above mentioned device, then you'll need to run the latest update i.e. 4.0.2.A.0.42 and also unlock the bootloader. You may also face some problems when you upgrade to the official ROM of ICS whenever it is released. So be careful before trying it out.

More pictures of Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD (Nozomi) popup with probable specs

Just a week ago the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD (Nozomi) was spotted in Hong Kong and today we get a bunch of new photos of the nicknamed Nozomi.

These pictures give us a complete look of the Xperia Arc HD from every angle and not just the front as before. The Nozomi will come with a Snapdragon chipset with 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and Adreno 220 GPU on board. There should be a 1GB RAM on the device and it will launch with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread and has a 4.3 inch HD LCD with a resolution of 1280 x 720. With these pictures we also get the confirmation that the device will have a 12MP camera at the rear with HD recording capability and ill also have a HDMI port for sharing those HD videos easily.

LT22 is the latest Xperia handset to hit the rumour mill

A new Xperia handset by Sony has been leaked with specs and a couple of shots. The picture of the device shows that the handset will have a curved back with a round bump on the bottom, quite a new design factor, we must say. The front of the device reminds us of the original Arc with long chrome buttons.

Also the branding has now been changed to Sony, so probably we will be seeing the handset by next year.

ICS to hit Xperia devices in January 2012

After sharing a sad new about the Samsung bada 2.0 not reaching to all Samsung Wave devices, we have great news for Sony Ericsson Xperia owners. Many sources have pointed out the Android's latest 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will reach select Sony Ericsson Xperia devices as early as January 2012. This comes into light as a Sony Ericsson employee has tweeted that the ICS update may reach all Xperia devices in the very first week of January 2012 itself.

But this contradicts with a previous statement form SE Italia on its Facebook page which stated that the update will only reach by March 2012. We also know that the ICS firmware for Xperia Arc and Neo has already been submitted for approval and if this happens soon, then the predictive January 2012 release is certain.
