Sony officially launches the Xperia P, U and Sola in India

Sony Mobile Communications has launched three new smartphones in its NXT range which were showcased in India back in April. The new Xperia U, P and Sola are now officially launched and will start hitting shelves this month.


The Xperia U and Xperia Sola are already retailing and Xperia P will be available in the last week of this month.

Back in March, Sony had announced that its Tablet S and Tablet P would get the much awaited Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in April. Well the Tablet S was indeed lucky enough to taste some ICS love but the Tablet P had to wait a little longer.

Now Sony has announced that on May 24, its Tablet P will go on to receive the update to Android 4.0.

Sony Mobile has been very much vocal about the release of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates for its Xperia devices but the future of ICS for the latest smartphone, Sony Xperia S was unknown as we didn’t hear anything about the ICS upgrade from Sony.
But now over at the Sony Mobile Forum, a Sony Xperia Support team member has stated that the Xperia S will go on to receive its share of tasteful Android Ice Cream Sandwich starting ‘Late May’/ Early June.

Leaks of upcoming Sony smartphones are on a roll. Just yesterday we saw Sony ST26i leak out and today we see the ST21i Tapioca pose for us, again. The device has been spotted earlier too and this time it has taken out a few minutes and posed for a little more time.
Though the device is looking to be an entry level smartphone, the specs are not too good to get us excited.

Here’s more from Sony. We last heard the Sony Xperia U making it way to Indian online stores for pre-order, today we see another Xperia handset, the Xperia Sola, playing the same trick.
The handset was introduced in India with the launch of the flagship Xperia S smartphone and it features Sony’s new ‘Floating Touch’ technology that lets you interact with the phone without touching it through hand gestures. It lets you control the user interface by letting your finger hover above the screen. Floating touch enables the phone to register your finger up to 20mm above the screen.

It seems Sony is on a roll. Just yesterday the company announced the launch of the Sony Xperia GX and Xperia SX for its consumers in Japan and today we see images of another upcoming smartphone, the Sony ST26i leak on the web.
The most striking thing which we note of the Sony ST26i is that it lacks the traditional green globe logo which the company used before it broke up with Ericsson and bought its entire share in the joint venture.

Sony has today announced two additions to its Xperia line with the introduction of the Sony Xperia GX (Hayabusa) and Xperia SX, which are the first LTE-capable smartphones for its consumers in Japan.
Just yesterday we saw images of the Sony LT29i Hayabusa leak and it was rumoured that it would go on to be called the Sony Xperia GX and today we see Sony making the device official. The images that leaked yesterday go on to match with the official images of the Xperia GX.

The new range Xperia of smartphones which include the Xperia S, U and P from Sony have gone on to impress us all with all the features and specs and next in the line is the Sony LT29i code-named Hayabusa which has leaked before and has now made another appearance thanks to our beloved blurry cam.
The leaked image is a collage of pictures of the device taken seperately which is why there is a whole mismatched size and ratio. Also from the image we get to know that the device is to arrive in the traditional Black and White colour options.

After the Xperia S, Sony’s newest member in its NXT series Sony Xperia U has made its way to India, although we haven’t seen an official launch but it has made its way to online stores for pre-order and is said to be available in the second week of May.

Priced at Rs.17, 399 the handset seems to be a smaller version of the Xperia S and boast some exciting features in its range.

It seems after the new additions of Xperia S, P, U and Sola to its Xperia range of smartphones, Sony is readying its next set of devices which will go on to launch in the coming months.
Just yesterday we saw what could go on to be the Sony LT29i Hayabusa and launch in June, today we see pictures of Sony ST21i Tapioca pop up, which goes on to be an entry-level Android device from Sony.
