Samsung has a new Android UI called “Pure Breeze”

samsung breeze ui
Samsung has created a whole new UI later for Android which is said to simplify and save your time using and accessing apps on your device. The UI basically organizes your Android handset in a better way. It includes adding new groups, using the new homescreen called Kite and removing apps is easy as throwing them in a recycle bin. This reminds me of the Sony Ericsson’s UI, which has exactly the same features.

It is available on the Android Market which includes a lite version and a paid version. We cannot confirm the devices that it may and may not support, so try it and do let us know about your experience.

Where is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7?

samsung galalxy tab 7.7 hidden
Apparently Samsung has pulled down its newest tablet, the Galaxy Tablet 7.7, from the IFA event where it was launched recently. At first no explanation was given for the act, but news confirms that the tablet has been removed due to a court decision made on the 2nd of September. Every single bit of information, demos and banners, have been taken down.

The statement by Samsung was as follows:

Samsung respects the court’s decision (The District Court in Dusseldorf) made on September 2  and therefore decided not to display any more the GALAXY Tab 7.7 in IFA. However, we believe it severely limits consumer choice in Germany. Samsung will pursue all available measures, including legal options, to defend its intellectual property rights and ensure its innovative products remain available to German consumers.’

Legal spats are cursing Samsung again, but we hope the new tab reaches the Indian market soon without any legal issues.

Samsung announces a new Mobile Messenger - ChatON

Samsung-Chaton-messenger

Samsung has announced launch of a free mobile communication service, ChatON. It lets users interact with friends and family, regardless of device platform – functionality across multiple platforms lets all users join in, with text, images, hand-written notes and video shared instantly. Users can chat in groups, while a Web client will allow the easy sharing of content and conversations between mobile and PC.

ChatON, which is available in more than 120 countries supporting up to 62 languages, features two functionality options. A basic functionality option is available for feature phone users who prefer simple and easy usage, allowing users to share text, pictures, calendar, contacts and emotions through an easy-to-access client.

Smartphone users can enjoy advanced feature options, enabling richer communication by allowing users to see how often they communicate with their buddies using the Interaction Rank feature and post comments on buddies’ profile pages. Users can also create an ‘Animation message’ which allows them to create their own content by scribbling texts, adding audio and choosing their background pictures. All photos and videos in each conversation window can be viewed in an automatically-generated content sharing ‘Trunk’.

ChatON allows users to join and grow their social communities, socializing instantly and flexibly through their mobile device.  Users can enjoy the benefits of ChatON globally, with free and easy communication possible with friends and family anywhere in the world.

Samsung ChatON will be made available gradually across all major Smartphones, Tablets, notebook PCs and Samsung feature phones, including forthcoming devices showcased at IFA 2011.

Samsung launches LTE versions of the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 8.9

galaxy sII 4g and tab 8.9 4g
Samsung Electronics has announced new LTE editions of the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Tab 8.9. These new versions of the devices now offer high-speed 4G connectivity.  LTE  4G technology allows portable devices to download high-quality files at speeds of up to 100Mbps, and to upload at speeds of 50Mbps theoretically – five times faster than even the quickest HSPA+ connection. This means that a four-minute long MP3 track can be downloaded in 0.3 seconds, or an entire film file in less than two minutes

“With the introduction of GALAXY S II LTE and GALAXY Tab 8.9 LTE, we will take the capabilities of these devices to a whole new level. LTE redefines the user experience made possible by these devices and opens entirely new possibilities in terms of content viewing, sharing, quality and connectivity,” said JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business.

“This is a milestone in our commitment to lead the charge in 4G mobile telephony around the world, both in terms of back-end network solutions for service providers and the development of powerful consumer handsets,” added Shin.

Not only has the new S II got a new LTE radio chip, there are other upgrades in the new version of the handset. In comparison to the original S II, the new LTE version of the Galaxy S II will be featuring a bigger 4.5 inch Super AMOLED Plus display and also a bigger 1.5GHz dual core processor. Other features of the handset are similar to the S II.

Both the devices have been announced and should be headed towards the US, which has already adapted to the LTE radio frequencies.
