Reliance Communications today announced that it crossed the landmark 100 million wireless customers, making it the 2nd largest wireless operator in the country to achieve this milestone. Airtel was the first to cross the 100 million landmark. Reliance Communication achieved this within seven years of first launching its pan-India mobile services in 2003. Incidentally. Reliance Communications launches ‘Socially’ Application on RWorld

Reliance Communications has launched a new VAS application – 'Socially', made available through its data portal RWorld. The new application is designed to enable users to follow the recent activity of friends and to update their status on different social networks like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn through a single client.

Socially also shows up-to-date social information of the caller during an incoming call and collates significant events across social networks and pushes them as alerts on select smartphones supporting the application, enabling users to have better conversations. Add a comment

In a bid to revamp its Fixed Line business strategy, Reliance Communications expands its most popular “Simply Reliance” tariff plans to the fixed wireless platform Reliance Hello.The operator announced the launch of two new flexible plans dubbed as Pay Per Call and All@50 for its Fixed Wireless customers in Tamilnadu telecom circle.

Reliance Communications has announced that it will shortly be launching its Mobile Applications Store in India available for customers through its data portal RWorld. The new look RWorld 2.0 would be a 3G ready data portal with world class content management system supporting all the latest features available on mobile handsets.

Reliance Communications today announced the launch of a SMS-based email service across Reliance GSM and CDMA wireless network in India. This Email on SMS service effectively empowers RCOM subscribers to receive all their emails via SMS. The Email-to-SMS technology is provided by Canada’s iseemedia, a leading provider of low cost wireless email services to operators in the country.

RCOM is leveraging iseemedia’s multi-platform email solution known as iseemail to enable every mobile users to check, download and retrieve email messages using the SMS interface. iseemail supports all types of email messaging systems in India through standard POP3 & IMAP4.
