Reliance Communications today announced new FRCs for its new prepaid CDMA and GSM customers in Karnataka. The FRC 109 Mega - Saver pack offers Local and STD calls with local calls at 40p/min and STD calls at Rs.1.20/ 3 mins. Reliance Communications has launched a open market handsets bundle offer for new post paid CDMA customers across India. The offer is available for new subscribers with a promotional benefit of free unlimited local calling to any Reliance Mobile for 6 months on subscription. The offer is applicable on tariff plans of Rs. 199 per month and above. Under this offer, customers have the flexibility to choose from a very wide range of CDMA open market phones.

RCom forms 3G Business Team, plans 3G Innovation Lab

Reliance Communication today revealed its 3G Business Team and 3G Innovation Lab. In an all India bid for 3G spectrum, RCom has won 13 circles including the metros of Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.Reliance Communication has appointed Mr Prashant Gokarn as Head – 3G. was earlier involved in 3G roll out in several countries and has worked in companies like Spectrum, Anderson Consulting and S2T. At RCom, he was heading Corporate Strategy since 2008. Following his new mandate, he has moved to 3G business. He will also be a key member of RCOM’s Wireless Management Board.
RCOM has also roped in Google's former Head of Wireless Business Mr Suresh Jayaraju as Head -New Age VAS. He has an experience of over 14 years managing internet, media, and mobile technologies. Prior to joining RCom, his other assignments were with Tech Mahindra, OnMobile Systems Inc and Rediff.com.
As part of its 3G readiness plan, RCom has established a 3G Innovation Lab with end-to-end wireless network infrastructure. This Innovation Lab will be an integral part of RCom’s 3G operations offering real-time product developmental capabilities and time-to-market equation benefits to RCOM. The 3G Innovation Lab will be in line with RCom’s strategic focus to encourage innovations in mobile technologies.
The objective of the Innovation Lab is to facilitate the development of mobile service innovations through collaboration with 3rd party developers.
RCom’s 3G Innovation Lab will involve a community of content developers, product innovators, technology platforms enablers, device manufactures and OEMs. The collaborative unit will be formed through tie ups with top local as well as Global partners.
The Lab is a move towards the ‘Open Platforms’ architecture which encompass open systems, open networks, democratic framework for partners & consumers for availability of the best products based on the consumer’s usage. The Lab is established at Reliance ADA Group’s Headquarters in Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City, near Mumbai.
Reliance (GSM) launches new Unlimited Calling Pack in Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh

Reliance Communications has announced the launch of a new calling pack for its GSM prepaid subscribers in Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The unlimited local On-net GSM 249 Pack is priced at Rs. 249 with 30-day validity offers subscribers the benefit of making unlimited on-net free calls to any local Reliance Mobile on both GSM and CDMA networks. Local calls to other networks and STD calls with this pack costs 50 paisa per minute.Reliance Communications also launched a daily On-net Pack priced at Rs.12 for its GSM customers in Odisha. The new daily pack offers subscribers 50 minutes of talktime to make call to any local Reliance Mobile for the day.
RCom inks multi-faceted business deal with Nokia

entered into a partnership to make available Ovi Life Tools services targeted at the rural and semi-urban segments for Reliance customers. Under this partnership Reliance will offer faster music downloads to Ovi Music Unlmited (OMU) devices including Nokia 5530, Nokia 5800, Nokia X6 16 GB, Nokia X6 8 GB and Nokia 5235. Reliance Communications will also offer special data packages for Nokia GPRS phones (other than OMU-enabled devices) and an exclusive offer on Reliance Netconnect Broadband + USB Datacards on the purchase of Nokia OMU enabled phones.
Reliance will offer Ovi Life Tools services in two versions, Subscription and Pay per Use. While the Subscription Service for education and entertainment services will be offered at Rs.30/Month and the agriculture service at Rs.60/Month. The Pay-per-Use will be priced at Rs.3/Request.
As part of this alliance, RCOM is also offering mobile data bundle of 1.2GB on Nokia GPRS enabled handsets (other than the OMU-enabled phones). Reliance Mobile has introduced Braille Bill Service for visually impaired. The Braille Bill service is first-of-its kind initiative introduced by an Indian telecom operator aiming to create an enabling and convenient customer service environment for the visually impaired.
Existing and new Reliance Mobile customers can request for the Braille Bill by registering their request with the company through its call center or Reliance World or Reliance Mobile Stores.
Reliance Mobile’s Braille Bills will be available across all products lines of RCOM’s Wireless Business. This will be a summarized bill providing key details of current usage, bill amount, last dues, last payment and adjustments made. The Braille Bill will also provide a breakup of the current charges payable by the customer. The normal detailed and itemized bills will also be available through regular channels in the form of hard copy as well as eBills. The Braille Bill will be dispatched to the visually impaired customers through post every month without any extra charges

Reliance Communications today announced the signing of an exclusive strategic partnership with Universal Music to offer music-related services and content across RCOM’s GSM, CDMA, 3G Mobile and Wireless Broadband platforms. The agreement between Reliance Communications and Universal Music has been signed with a commitment of substantial investments to be made by both the parties to offer 360 degree music experience to customers across all platforms including Voice, WAP, Web, IVR, Blog & through On-Ground Events. The agreement with Universal is a prelude to RCOM’s 3G launch since Music offers the potential to provide the best consumer experience on 3G network. This is the first ever biggest & most comprehensive music partnership signed in India by a telecom operator. Universal will offer its entire catalogue of international and Indian music to RCOM. Universal’s music catalogue boasts of some of the best of Indian & western billboard artists such as Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, The Black Eyed Peas, Enrique Iglesias, Eminem, Lady Gaga amongst Others.
RCOM’s agreement with Universal Music is in line with similar deals signed by the conglomerate with other global operators across the globe including with UK Orange, SingTel, Digi Malaysia, Bouygues Telecom, France Orange, Belgium Base and other Eastern European Operators.

Simply Music comprises of two packs – Gold and Platinum.
- The Simply Music Gold Pack will comprise of 3 full length track, 3 ringtone, 4 callertune and 30 minutes mobile Radio Web streaming. This pack will be available for a monthly subscription of Rs 25 only.
- The Simply Music Platinum Pack will comprise of 10 full length tracks, 10 ringtones, 10 callertunes and 100 minutes of mobile Radio Web streaming. The Platinum pack will be available for a monthly subscription of Rs 99 only.

Reliance Mobile and Samsung Mobile today announced the launch of India’s first Android powered CDMA handset Samsung Galaxy i899. The new Smartphone available only on Reliance Mobile network will also be the first CDMA device to be launched in India pre-installed with Android Market – an online applications store developed by Google for Android devices.Samsung i899 is priced at Rs. 19,900. Reliance Communication will soon launch India's 1st CDMA Phone on Android Platform - Samsung Galaxy i899. Samsung Galaxy i899 sizes 16.5 x 56.4 x 12.8 mm and weighs around 126 grams. It is a touchscreen phone with 3.2" AMOLED display. It features 3.2 MP Camera with LED Flash and Auto Focus and has internal memory of 230 MB and external memory can be expanded upto 32GB. It supports Mobile Safari browser. This WiFi enabled mobile has 1440mAH battery. Right now no details about its price and launch date are available.

Reliance Communication launches 'Live Chat' service for its data customers

Reliance Communications has launched first-of-its kind Customer Care Initiative ‘Live Chat’. This Live Chat service will enable Reliance’s customers with real-time query and issue handling through chat-based online platform.In the first phase of the launch ‘Live Chat’ will be available to Reliance’s over 1.3 million data customers across the country. Following the implementation of the service across the data business, RCOM plans to extend the service to other business groups.
RCOM has established the ‘Live Chat’ Contact Center at the company’s headquarter at New Mumbai. This facility will have over 500 dedicated workforce equipped to handle 75,000 live customer interactions in a day. RCOM is going Live with its Live Chat service across 15,000 towns with a scale-up plan to cover 24,000 towns by end of the first quarter of this fiscal.
