While Apple’s iPad still remains the king of the tablets three years after Apple introduced us to the almost mystical device called a tablet. In this time, Apple has released the next version of its famed tablet iPad – the iPad 2, while more Android tablets have emerged then we can count on our fingers.

When it comes to tablets, we have to give Apple credit as it not only launched the first popular tablet, it has actually maintained status quo as top contender by endowing its tablets with great features that anyone has hardly matched up. Android, on the other hand, has performed great as an open source software and bought tablets to the average consumers ranging from the Samsung Galaxy Tab to our very own Aakash tablet.

Thanks to a leaked roadmap, we now have some interesting information about RIM’s plans for the years 2012 and 2013. A chart shows how RIM intends to launch new devices including the PlayBook 3G (FINALLY !), new curve series devices and addition of new colours to already existing devices. Other plans include the release BlackBerry OS 7.1, introduction of Wi-Fi media server sharing and more.

The only sad part here is that RIM’s BlackBerry OS 10 will be launching pretty late. Meaning that the codenamed device ‘London’ will be delayed as well. Going by the roadmap, we might see the new BB 10 OS device in the third quarter of 2013 (September, October, November).

Uninor has announced its partnership with RED FM powered by Hungama Mobile, to bring the radio experience in various languages for its customers. The tie-up will enable Uninor customers to enjoy a wholesome music experience, in their preferred language from their hometown radio station, now easily accessible on mobile handsets.

How does this work? Well, for example a Gujarati in Bangalore can listen to the RED FM of Ahmedabad or a Bengali in Mumbai can listen to the Kolkata radio Station. Customers can avail this Value Added Service by simply dialing toll free number 55935 from their Uninor number. Pretty neat, eh?

Its true. Text messages or SMSs as we know them, might be slowly perishing away and it has an unlikely assassin, Apple’s iMessage. Apple inexplicably expensive iPhone 4S and its iOS 5 are doing wonders it seems.

But no matter how we loathe the iPhone, it will remain a record-breaking phone, and truly, it seems foolish spending money on text messages, if you can send an iMessage for free. The reason behind this is quite simple. iMessage allows one to send messages free of cost.
