MWC 2012: Lumia 610, the cheapest Windows Phone is now officially announced by Nokia

Yesterday we showed you a leaked image and also some rumoured specs of the upcoming Lumia 610 smartphone. Well, today we it’s all official. Nokia has today announced the Lumia 610 which will be the cheapest Windows Phone out there.


The hardware is something that you would find on a budgeted smartphone which means it pushes the Windows Phone platform to an affordable range. The smartphone will have an 800MHz processor, 256MB of RAM, a 3.7 inch display with 800x480 pixels resolution, a 5MP camera, 8GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HSUPA and HSPDA connectivity, microUSB, and of course it will run on Windows Phone 7.5 Tango.

After so many leaks, rumours, renders and what not, the new camera flagship by Nokia has been announced. The successor to the N8 and its one big leap by Nokia is finally here, presenting the Nokia PureView 808. The camera-phone will have a 41MP camera sensor that has an f/2.8 lens. Yes, its 41MP and not 14MP.


Now that’s a true camera flagship from Nokia. The camera will be aided by a Xenon flash, and will have 3X zoom.

Thin is in and everybody’s mad about it. Everyone from Motorola to Samsung is trying to make their phones as thin as possible. But the crown of the world’s thinnest phone currently goes to an unlikely winner – the Huawei Ascend P1 S with an unrealistic 6.68 mm thickness. But its thickness is just the beginning. The Huawei Ascend P1 S has much more on offer. It comes with goodies like Ice Cream Sandwich OS out-of-the box and a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD amongst many others. MWC 2012: Samsung announces the Galaxy Note 10.1

We heard rumours, but now it’s all official. Samsung has today announced a new Galaxy Note which is a bigger 10 inch version of the previous Note. The Galaxy Note 10.1 will be featuring the same features like the original Note including the S-Pen and the exclusive S-Pen apps.


The Galaxy Note 10.1 a 10.1 inch WXGA (1280x800) PLS TFT display, a 1.4 GHz Dual-Core Processor and will run on Android 4.0.

Leaked on numerous occasions, HTC has finally made the One X and the One S official at the Mobile World Congress. Codenamed as Edge/Endeavor and Ville, we can now finally give you the official images and the specs of the devices. Also a third smartphone, One V has been announced. With these smartphones, HTC has also rebranded its Android range under the ‘One’ series.

The One X and One S smartphones look almost identical and all three smartphones will come with Beats audio technology, Android 4.0 ICS with Sense 4.0 on-board.

As everybody goes gaga over the Galaxy Tab or the iPad, here we have Huawei who is challenging the likes with its MediaPad 10 FHD. What’s so great about it? Well the MediaPad 10 FHD runs on a quad-core K3 processor which is introduced by Huawei themselves and also goes on to beat NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 (According to Huawei).
And that’s not where it ends. We keep talking about Apple planning to bring ‘Retina Display’ to the next-gen of iPad but hey Huawei as already packed in a display resolution of 1920 x 1200.

The Mobile World Congress has begun, and just before the official announcement, it seems that we have our hands on what is said to be the picture of Nokia’s next budgeted Lumia handset. The image of the Lumia 610 has been leaked and it pretty much seems to be the real deal.


The handset will come in the usual three Lumia colours, i.e. blue, pink, black, but also in the new white colour. Some specs of the smartphone have also been leaked.

Sony has finally taken the covers off its Xperia P (Nypon) and Xperia U (Kumquat) smartphones at the Mobile World Congress 2012. Both the devices will go on to join the Xperia S which was unveiled at the CES 2012 back in January and will be a part of the NXT series.
Xperia P and Xperia U will be available to consumers globally in the second quarter of this year.

So the official announcements from the most-awaited event of the year, the Mobile World Congress 2012 have begun. On the day one, it was Chinese giant Huawei who has decided to surprise us all and announced what the company claims to the fastest smartphone yet, the Ascend D Quad.

According to Richard Yu, chairman of Huawei devices, the Ascend D Quad will be featuring no Tegra 3 quad-core processor but instead it own-grown and developed K3V2 processor.
