Adobe has announced and has made it official that it will not be investing development in Flash for mobile devices. The company will now focus on the development of HTML5 as it is supported by many platforms and also will be helping Flash developers to package native apps with Adobe AIR for all the major app stores.

This is a major step taken by the company as the long running feud between Apple and Adobe will finally end with Adobe agreeing with Apple’s ideas.

This is a major step taken by the company as the long running feud between Apple and Adobe will finally end with Adobe agreeing with Apple’s ideas.
Adobe has also said that they will no longer continue to develop Flash Player in the browser to work with new mobile device configurations following the upcoming release of Flash Player 11.1 for Android and BlackBerry PlayBook. However; they will continue to provide critical bug fixes and security updates for existing device configurations and will also allow their source code licensees to continue working on and release their own implementations.
Check out the press release:
Adobe is all about enabling designers and developers to create the most expressive content possible, regardless of platform or technology. For more than a decade, Flash has enabled the richest content to be created and deployed on the web by reaching beyond what browsers could do. It has repeatedly served as a blueprint for standardizing new technologies in HTML. Over the past two years, we’ve delivered Flash Player for mobile browsers and brought the full expressiveness of the web to many mobile devices.
However, HTML5 is now universally supported on major mobile devices, in some cases exclusively. This makes HTML5 the best solution for creating and deploying content in the browser across mobile platforms. We are excited about this, and will continue our work with key players in the HTML community, including Google, Apple, Microsoft and RIM, to drive HTML5 innovation they can use to advance their mobile browsers.
Our future work with Flash on mobile devices will be focused on enabling Flash developers to package native apps with Adobe AIR for all the major app stores. We will no longer continue to develop Flash Player in the browser to work with new mobile device configurations (chipset, browser, OS version, etc.) following the upcoming release of Flash Player 11.1 for Android and BlackBerry PlayBook. We will of course continue to provide critical bug fixes and security updates for existing device configurations. We will also allow our source code licensees to continue working on and release their own implementations.
These changes will allow us to increase investment in HTML5 and innovate with Flash where it can have most impact for the industry, including advanced gaming and premium video. Flash Player 11 for PC browsers just introduced dozens of new features, including hardware accelerated 3D graphics for console-quality gaming and premium HD video with content protection. Flash developers can take advantage of these features, and all that our Flash tooling has to offer, to reach more than a billion PCs through their browsers and to package native apps with AIR that run on hundreds of millions of mobile devices through all the popular app stores, including the iTunes App Store, Android Market, Amazon Appstore for Android and BlackBerry App World.
We are already working on Flash Player 12 and a new round of exciting features which we expect to again advance what is possible for delivering high definition entertainment experiences. We will continue to leverage our experience with Flash to accelerate our work with the W3C and WebKit to bring similar capabilities to HTML5 as quickly as possible, just as we have done with CSS Shaders. And, we will design new features in Flash for a smooth transition to HTML5 as the standards evolve so developers can confidently invest knowing their skills will continue to be leveraged.
We are super excited about the next generations of HTML5 and Flash. Together they offer developers and content publishers great options for delivering compelling web and application experiences across PCs and devices. There is already amazing work being done that is pushing the newest boundaries, and we can’t wait to see what is still yet to come!

Siri not coming to older iPhones, officially

We have seen how hackers have managed to port Siri, the personal voice assistant from iPhone 4S to older version of iPhone, but in an official statement Apple said that Siri will remain exclusive to iPhone 4S and will not be available to other older versions of iPhones, at least in the near future.

A developer Michael Steeber had in a query asked Apple about a possible special Siri-enabled iOS build for iPod touch and iPhone 4 owners, to which apple responded, “Siri only works on iPhone 4S and we currently have no plans to support older devices.” So now this may come as disappointment to all the old iPhone users but there are always the friendly hackers who work harder to bring these exclusive features to all users. We also hope that Apple changes its mind and brings this now-popular feature to all users soon.

Two days ago we saw some leaked information about HTC Edge which will be HTC’s first device to run on Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processor, but if you were thinking that it would be the first Smartphone to run on the advanced CPU, just like Transformer Prime will be in tablets then you may be wrong.

According to reports, HTC Edge may not be the first device to run the Tegra 3 CPU as Motorola, Samsung and LG have already adopted Tegra 3 for future smartphones.

Come November 22nd and Google will end all its support to the Gmail app for BlackBerry smartphones. The reason behind this is unknown but it may be that Google failed to reach users through BlackBerry.
Google also says that over the past year, it has focused all efforts on building a great Gmail experience in the mobile browser and will continue investing in this area. Users who already have the app installed may continue to use the app but it will not be supported by Google and will not be available for download from November 22.

Many operators allow their subscribers to get their Mobile recharged with Special recharges using their existing balance. Subscribers can do so by entering relevant USSD code for the recharge they want. What if you don't know the USSD code? Tata DOCOMO has made Special recharges and 3G recharges simpler by allowing its subscribers to recharge using their existing balance by visiting their website. On its website tatadocomo.com it offers an option 'Pay by your current Mobile Balance'. Once you select that option you will receive an SMS with a unique code in it, enter the unique code on tatadocomo.com and that's it you are done.
Alternatively you can search for USSD codes online but that is more time consuming and I won't prefer that.
Have you recharged your mobile using this method. Try it out and let us know if you find it convenient, you can drop your comment below.

So a big case for the iPhone that charges it, unlocks it, and enables dual SIM capability. Now that’s SWEET! You can get more information about the case and the app by registering over here.

PayMate and Nokia partner-up to bring in NFC based technology in India
- Category: Nokia

PayMate along with Nokia has developed a new NFC technology solution that will enable easy display, delivery, and purchase of goods and services using a simple tap. With Nokia launching NFC based handsets, PayMate has partnered with Nokia to showcase to the Indian market some of the capabilities of NFC and bringing NFC to the Indian mainstream.
NFC solution enables users to access Content and Services, simply and securely with a single tap of the phone against an NFC touch point. You can exchange text, images, URLs and other data simply by holding your phone up to various smart tags. It promotes quick and easy sharing of content between two mobile devices as well as with consumer electronics such as cameras, TVs and printers.
This experience can also be extended to a convenient and secure checkout and payment with the PayMate solution. Customer can purchase an item by simply tapping their NFC enabled device against an NFC enabled menu or a tag on an item they wish to purchase. All product information could be transmitted to the customer’s phone via the information triggered from the RFID tag and the customer can then choose to go ahead and select the item for purchase. Their NFC device could be linked via PayMate to a payment mechanism such as their bank account or a prepaid account and the customer could then authorise the payment directly on to their mobile phones. NFC thereby helps in contactless payments by transforming the mobile phone into a digital wallet, thus eliminating the need to carry cash and credit cards.
Likewise, coupons, promotions and advertisements for various products and services could also be transmitted to the consumer's phone, taking mobile marketing to a new level. For the end user, the entire experience is fast, precise, and convenient. For merchants and content providers, NFC is a cost effective, active, and engaging solution that also provides real-time usage and insight to customer interests and preferences.
