Uninor launches its Mobile Services, Local Calls at 29 paise

Uninor today announced the launch of its global GSM service in India. The launch will happen simultaneously in 7 circles. These include Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, UP East, UP West and Bihar (including Jharkhand). In terms of GSM footprint in a single day, this is the largest Greenfield launch operation in telecom history. On launch day, the network will cover a national footprint of close to 600 million – providing a global connection and pan-India access to the world’s largest population on day one. This is well over the population of the US, Russia and UK combined and roughly equals every 10th citizen of the world.

Swype Launches on Samsung Omnia II

Swype, an innovative text input technology, today announced its first consumer launch on one of the hottest smartphones set to hit the US market, the Samsung Omnia II . Swype’s patented technology provides a faster and more intuitive way to input text on touch-screens. With one continuous finger or stylus motion across the keyboard, users can enter text at over 30 words per minute. Equally important, the underlying software provides a high degree of error tolerance making it easy for first time users to successfully enter text.

Nokia outlined key Devices & Services operational priorities for 2010 at its annual Capital Markets Day event. They are:

Improve user experience.
Re-engineer Symbian user interface; deliver a major product milestone before mid-year 2010, and another major product milestone before the end of 2010.
Deliver first Maemo 6-powered mobile computer, with an iconic user experience, in the second half of 2010.
Significantly increase the proportion of touch and/or QWERTY devices in smartphone portfolio.

Tata Teleservices Launches Photon TV

Tata Teleservices Limited today announced the launch of Photon TV, a new application that allows Tata Photon Plus subscribers to watch live television channels on their laptops while on the move, and on their personal computers at home and in the office. The Photon TV service is exclusively available to Photon Plus users.

A personal computer- and laptop-based video-streaming application, Photon TV allows Tata Photon Plus users to view live TV feed from various sports, news, entertainment and regional channels, and to watch recorded TV shows from the library (viz Coffee with Karan, Zoom, Pogo, etc), movies, music and videos on demand.

MTNL Pay Per Second Now On Postpaid

India's first 3G GSM Mobile service perator Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) launches new Postpaid 3G Jadoo Pay Per Second Plan of Rs.149 for its 2G and 3G GSM Mobile service subscribers. MTNL Dolphin (Postapid) customers can enjoy PER SECOND PULSE for all Local,STD Voice and Video calls to any network across India.

MTNL CMD, RSP Sinha quoted “Under the Pay Per Second billing plans which will become effective from December 2, subscribers will pay Half Paisa per second for MTNL Network Voice and Video calls and pay one paisa per second for local and STD Voice and Video calls across the country on all other networks. MTNL, which also offers 3G services, is first operator to offers video calls at per second pulse across the country” he added.

Nokia today released Qt 4.6, the latest version of the cross-platform application and UI framework. Featuring new platform support, powerful new graphical capabilities and support for multi-touch and gestures.

"Qt 4.6 marks an exciting time for developers, regardless of their target form factor or platform," said Sebastian Nyström, Vice President, Application Services and Frameworks at Nokia.

"Developers can easily create visually appealing and web-connected applications for desktops or devices, including targeting the hundreds of millions of Symbian and Maemo-based devices,"

This service is valid for both old and new customers of BSNL having Broadband usernames with underscore '_' and at the rate '@' sign. The SMS alerts will come every week giving you brief details about your Broadband usage.
