LG had earlier announced that it will be finally releasing Android 2.3 updates for its Optimus handsets. The update for the Optimus 3D is all ready and will include new and improved features such as enhanced network speed, better 3D experience and improved multimedia functions.
The customized Gingerbread upgrade for Optimus 3D will not only include improvements from Google such as enhanced power management, advanced copy/paste and user interface (UI) improvements, but also enhancements from LG.

Samsung Electronics has announced its new system-in-package (SIP) near field communications (NFC) chip, the SENHRN1. The new Secu-NFC chip combines a NFC controller and a secure element storing personal information and security keys with advanced encryption technologies, a prerequisite for reliable and efficient mobile payment on NFC-enabled mobile devices.

The new solution is based on Samsung’s smartcard ICs, which involves advanced RF sensitivity features and enhanced data encryption technologies, and its wealth of package technology, utilizing advanced SIP technology.

Lenovo to launch 10.1 inch ICS running tablet soon

Lenovo is getting ready to launch a 10.1 inch tablet which is said to run on NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 processor with Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich onboard.


Pictures of the unnamed tablet have popped up at Engadget and the tablet is feature packed. With the 10.1 inch screen and 1.6 GHz Tegra 3 processor, it is said to have a 2GB 1,600MHz DDR3 RAM, a standard USB host socket, Special Fusion-Skin body, and a rear-mounted camera with an LED flash whose resolution is unknown. One interesting feature of this tablet is the Fingerprint scanner which appears at the back of the tablet which may also double up as an optical joystick to scroll through large WebPages.

State owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has today announced their partnership with Bharat Berry Technologies to provide push mail services to all its users all over India. Bharat Berry has been in a tie up with MTNL for a couple of months in both its Mumbai and Delhi circle for providing push-mail services. And from today the Bharat Berry service has gone Pan-India with BSNL coming in too.

Bharat Berry’s push mail technology actively transfers new emails and works well with almost every handset in the market running on Symbian, Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry and even J2ME handsets. It also provides Over-The-Air (OTA) backup of user’s contacts, notes and calendar.

A few days back we reported about Motorola RAZR appearing on Flipkart with a coming soon tag and now the wait for the Razor sharp device is finally over.

HTC to announce Quad-core tablet at MWC in February

Reports are coming in that HTC is planning to launch a tablet powered by NVIDIA’s newly revealed quad-core Tegra 3 processor at the Mobile World Congress in February.

Till now only the Asus Transformer Prime is running on the Tegra 3 processor. Along with the new tablet, HTC plans to showcase two Android running Smartphones as well which are probably going to be the recently rumoured HTC Edge and HTC Ville out of which one may have the Tegra 3 onboard as well.

Nokia in a bid to reach the next billion people with its S40 platform has now made available its official twitter client for its S40 devices. Named as ‘Tweets by Nokia’, it lets you access Twitter on mobile phones.

Microsoft has already announced the Windows Phone Mango in India and today we saw Nokia finally revealing its first ever Windows Phone handsets in India. Nokia had tied up and had made the big announcement in February that they will be working with Microsoft to launch handset with the OS.

If a blog post of Notion Ink’s CEO Rohan Shravan is to be believed then Google may release the source of its latest Android OS, the Ice Cream Sandwich on November 17.

Google had said at the ICS launch that it’ll release the source code of ICS very soon after Galaxy Nexus is available in the market. And other reports that are coming in suggest that Galaxy Nexus is set to launch in Europe on the same date.
