Samsung Electronics has announced the commercial availability of the Galaxy Note, Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE in the Korean market.

As you all know the Galaxy Note is a device between the smartphone and the tablet segments with a large 5.3 inch HD Super AMOLED display. The features include a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 4G LTE and HSPA+ connectivity, 32GB internal memory, an 8MPl camera, 2,500mAh battery, Bluetooth 3.0+HS, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, NFC and the S-Pen which you can use as a stylus to perform number of functions or just scribble and sketch on the Note.
The world's first smartphone running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the Galaxy Nexus is also now available in Korea which other than the new OS has a 4.65 inch HD Super AMOLED display, a 1.2GHz dual core processor, 1,750mAh battery, 5M pixel camera with 1080p video capability and Bluetooth 3.0.
Samsung has also announced the availability of the LTE version of the Galaxy Tab 8.9 in Korean market. It features a 1.5GHz dual core processor, an 8.9 inch large display, dual surround speaker, a 3MP camera and supports LTE radio.
Let's hope the Galaxy Nexus is released in India soon as various countries around the world are getting their hands on the newest and the first Android 4.0 device.

Chinese student builds a $125 Windows 7 tablet

A Chinese student has created a tablet for his girlfriend as he couldn't afford one. The student used an old laptop and hooked it up with a touchscreen and a battery that he bought online.

Wei Xinlong made the tablet in 10 days and it spent $125 to make the tablet. "The main board, video card, CPU and screen were all from the old laptop, but I bought the touch screen and battery online," said Wei in an interview with China Daily.

Foursquare app updates, is now NFC enabled for Nokia NFC devices

The Nokia Store has a new section for NFC apps and there is a new addition to the section. The new version of Foursquare for Nokia Symbian Belle devices is out and it is said to bring in some NFC magic.

Now you may ask how can NFC be used in Foursquare? Well the new version of the application uses the NFC enabled phone to check-in automatically by just tapping at an NFC enabled/tagged poster. You don't need to open to the app, just a simple tap.

The Wall Street Journal is claiming that Sharp is supplying LCD displays for the next version of the iPad which is expected to launch early next year.

There are also reports that Sharp is already supplying displays for the current iPhone 4 and 4S and will be supplying for the next iPhone which is rumoured to boast a 4 inch display and an aluminium casing.

m-paisa service launched by Vodafone in association with HDFC Bank

HDFC Bank and Vodafone India have launched HDFC Bank MobileBank Account with Vodafone m-paisa nationally from Chomu which is on the outskirts of Jaipur, Rajasthan. Under this initiative, customers can now perform basic banking transactions on their mobile phones and even deposit and withdraw cash, at appointed Vodafone m-paisaTM outlets, without having to go to bank branches.

HDFC Bank has appointed a Vodafone India subsidiary company as a Corporate Business Correspondent, which allows Vodafone select retailers to represent the bank as sub-agents. By providing banking transactions at such sub-agents, this HDFC Bank-Vodafone India partnership will provide the services even in remote areas.
