It seems the word "BETTER" is fading day by day from !dea cellular's campaign of "Get Better Tariff" as the tariff war is coming to an end in this penurious Indian telecom industry where operators are looking forward to hike the voice and data rates in almost all circles. !dea cellular was the second company to join the bandwagon after Airtel hiked their tariff few days back in Maharashtra circle.
Following tariff has come into existence with immediate effect:
Per Second Plan
RC 18
Validity: 180 days
Tariff:
- Local and STD calls to !dea or other networks at 1.2 paise/sec
- Calls to fixed line at 1.5 paise/sec
- Local, National & International SMS at 1, 1.5 & 5 INR respectively.
Per Minute Plan
RC 17
Validity: 180 days
Tariff:
- Local and STD calls to !dea or other networks at 60 paise/min
- Calls to fixed line at 75 paise/min
- Local, National & International SMS at 1, 1.5 & 5 INR respectively.
Data Packs:

- This pack gives 1 GB free data with a validity of 30 days, additional usage at 10p/10KB. Initially, this pack used to offer 2 GB data.

Tata Docomo introduces a bouquet of offers for Maharashtra & Goa subscribers

Ever since Airtel kicked off the price hike initiative, we have seen almost all providers increase their base tariff rate. Well, maybe Tata Docomo will also end up hiking its base tariff someday in Maharashtra circle but subscribers can still avail the rate cutters to lower the tariff. Tata DoCoMo has come up with three such rate cutters in this month.
Please take a look at these rate cutters which can only be availed by doing a special recharge of the required amount.
RC 123
Cost: Rs. 123
Validity: 30 days
Tariff:
- 60 minutes of Local Tata calling everyday
- 20 Mb 2G data everyday
- 30 Local/National SMS everyday
I personally tried using this pack just to check wether 1800 On-net minutes (60x30), 600 MB 2G data (20x30) and 900 Local/National SMS (30x30) gets added in our pool accounts at a time but strangely, the freebies of this offer are not shown anywhere in main as well as pool balance although I am able to make free On-net calls. If the above said things were displayed in pool balance, this pack would have been great for those who want free On-net calling, gprs pack, SMS pack with a validity of 30 days and without any daily cap.
RC 56
Cost: Rs. 56
Validity: 180 days
Tariff:
RC 56
Cost: Rs. 56
Validity: 180 days
Tariff:
- Local & STD calls to any network at 1 paise/2 seconds
- 1st minute of each call to be charged at 1 paise/second
- No change in SMS tariff
- Customer will be reverted back to base tariff after the expiry of this pack
This is not a bad offer considering the validity it comes with. One can make calls to any network at half the rate by just paying base rate of 1 paise/sec for first minute of every call. Good for those who prefer long duration calls.
RC 29
Cost: Rs. 29
Validity: 30 days
Tariff:
RC 29
Cost: Rs. 29
Validity: 30 days
Tariff:
- Offers 100 Local minutes to any provider
- No change in SMS tariff
This pack offers effective calling rate of 29 paise/minute with a validity of 30 days without any rate cutter pack. You get 100 minutes in return of Rs. 29 which is actually good for those who are low on calls.

Nokia BH-505: Quick Review

We've had our hands on the BH-505 and here's a quick post covering it all.
It's a splash and sweat resistant headset and is mostly covered with rubber all around. The package contains the headset, a pack full of earbuds (of various sizes, three pairs to be precise), the standard Nokia 2mm charger and a quick start guide.
The overall design is neat and lightweight with most of the weight concentrated around the rear area, it comfortably rests on your head.
Getting started with it is really easy. There's a huge power button the rear which you wouldn't fail to notice. Though a little tough on rubber, it's nicely placed there.

Long pressing the power button puts you on the pairing mode and there's the LED adjacent to it which blinks rapidly indicating the mode.
Once the connection is established, the flashing stops and the device gets paired. Nothing more to it. Also, the BH505 supports multiple device pairing which means you can pair more than one device to it and switch between them as and when needed.
And there's the standard 2mm Nokia power socket alongside the LED as well.

The controls on the headset are very easy getting used to. Once you've placed the headphones in your ears, there's the huge play/pause button on one side and a Call attend/end button on the other making it really easy to access on the go.
There's a small volume control switch on the lateral side and a Previous/Next Track on the other. These are pretty tough to control, especially the volume control rocker key.

The audio quality is really good for a low-end bluetooth headset and lasted about 7-10 hours on a single charge with Music on and calls in between.
The BH505 was one of the first NFC enabled devices in the world, enabling quick pairing via Bluetooth on NFC enabled devices. However, pairing didn't seem to work on the Nexus S with NFC turned on. Though the phone recognizes the device, there's nothing more it does.

Nokia's official support guides of the BH505 also don't seem to speak much about NFC support. Probably, it might work with the Nokia C7 (running Symbian Anna) or the Meego based Nokia N9.
Conclusion
It's overall a light and useful device if you're always on the move and fancy listening to music. The shape and fit of the device might just not suit you, so make sure you try one out before purchasing.

We got the device from mobilefun for review.
