LG Electronics is collaborating with National Geographic Assignment photographers to create the first 3D image and video content which will be shot entirely with the LG Optimus 3D. The handset’s camera features, such as video stabilization and misalignment correction functions will help the National Geographic Assignment photographers to easily capture high-definition 3D content in a variety of locations.
“For over a century, National Geographic has been the preeminent institution for world-class wildlife, landscape, travel and lifestyle photography,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “To have six of National Geographic’s photographers showcase the power of Optimus 3D’s imaging capabilities is a true honour and a significant moment in the acceptance of 3D technology in a portable device such as a smartphone.”
“National Geographic photographers have been at the forefront of bringing award-winning visuals to our publications,” said Maura Mulvihill, Vice President at National Geographic Image Collection, Sales and Assignment. “We are very excited to work with LG to take advantage of the latest developments in 3D content creation. By putting the LG Optimus 3D in these artists’ hands, they will be able to truly show their world as they see it -- in full 3D.”
The elite roster of photojournalists -- comprised of four photographers and two videographers -- will have their work exhibited at IFA, Europe’s largest trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances in Berlin, Germany from September 2-7, 2011. The six National Geographic Assignment photographers and videographers include:
Steven Alvarez, photojournalist
Brian Skerry, photojournalist

Samsung has announced launch of a free mobile communication service, ChatON. It lets users interact with friends and family, regardless of device platform – functionality across multiple platforms lets all users join in, with text, images, hand-written notes and video shared instantly. Users can chat in groups, while a Web client will allow the easy sharing of content and conversations between mobile and PC.
ChatON, which is available in more than 120 countries supporting up to 62 languages, features two functionality options. A basic functionality option is available for feature phone users who prefer simple and easy usage, allowing users to share text, pictures, calendar, contacts and emotions through an easy-to-access client.
Smartphone users can enjoy advanced feature options, enabling richer communication by allowing users to see how often they communicate with their buddies using the Interaction Rank feature and post comments on buddies’ profile pages. Users can also create an ‘Animation message’ which allows them to create their own content by scribbling texts, adding audio and choosing their background pictures. All photos and videos in each conversation window can be viewed in an automatically-generated content sharing ‘Trunk’.
ChatON allows users to join and grow their social communities, socializing instantly and flexibly through their mobile device. Users can enjoy the benefits of ChatON globally, with free and easy communication possible with friends and family anywhere in the world.
Samsung ChatON will be made available gradually across all major Smartphones, Tablets, notebook PCs and Samsung feature phones, including forthcoming devices showcased at IFA 2011.

The 10 inch tablet seems to be very sleek and all the ports have been replaced with slimmer and cleaner ones. There isn’t any other info of the tablet, not even a name, but we can’t wait to get our hands on this one.Source (Italian)
