Samsung Galaxy Note, a new 5.3 inch device by Samsung

Samsung has introduced and announced yet again a new device that is somewhat in between a tablet and a smartphone. The Galaxy Note is the newest addition to the Galaxy family and it is a 5.3 inch device capable of calling features and is said to be a hybrid device just like the Dell Streak 5.
The Galaxy Note has a 5.3 inch WXGA screen with a 1280x800 resolution. It has the same Exynos chipset as the Tab 7.7 which is dual-core 1.4GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, Mali-400MP GPU, an 8MP with 1080p video recording, and it comes with a stylus, the S Pen which works with dedicated apps.

Here is one more announcement by Samsung, this time a new tablet device. The company has introduced a new 7.7 inch Galaxy Tab. The new tablet has been announced at the IFA being held at Berlin.
The Samsung P6800 Galaxy Tab 7.7 has a 7.7 inch Super AMOLED Plus screen offerting a 1280x800 resolution, a 1.4GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB RAM and Mali-400MP GPU. It is slim at just 7.8mm, has a 3MP autofocus camera with LED flash and 720p video recording, a 2MP fixed-focus front camera, an Infra-red port 3G HSPA+ connectivity and will run Android 3.2 Honeycomb with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.

Samsung announces new Bada 2.0 handsets, Wave 3, Wave M and Wave Y

Samsung Electronics has unveiled three new handsets falling under their Wave series, namely the Wave 3, Wave M and the Wave Y. All three devices are powered by Samsung’s own new bada 2.0 platform which brings together a wide variety of new capabilities including multi-tasking, Wi-Fi Direct, voice recognition and Near Field Communication (optional).
The handsets will also feature ChatON which is Samsung’s proprietary mobile communication service that works across all major mobile devices.
“Smartphones are gaining popularity by the day. The new additions to the Wave portfolio are the first to benefit from the power of our bada 2.0 platform; the full extent of our commitment is clear to see in each device. We’ve produced easy-to-use smartphones that will inspire the market,” said JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications business.

BlackBerry Torch 9810 launches officially in India

Research In Motion (RIM) has officially launched the BlackBerry Torch 9810 in India. The Torch 9810 is an upgrade for the original Torch 9800 and will be faster thanks to its new hardware and the all new BlackBerry 7 OS.
The handset features a 3.2 inch high resolution all-touch display plus slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It has 8 GB of onboard memory which is expandable up to 32 GB with a micro SD card and a 5MP camera capable of taking high resolution pictures and 720p video recording. The processor has been upgraded to a 1.2GHz processor with 768MB of RAM to provide smooth performance. Other features include Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, and also features augmented reality thanks to the Wikitude World Browser.
The Torch 9810 is priced at Rs. 29, 990.
Is Nokia Sea Ray actually Nokia 703?

According to a ‘so-called’ leaked image, Nokia just might be launching the 703, which will be a Windows handset. The handset looks a lot like the previously leaked Sea Ray, and the image seems to be an easy Photoshop fluke as well
If the image is genuine, then we can tell you upon close examination that the handset will have a 3.7 inch display with a 480x800 pixel resolution, a 5MP camera with 720p@30fps video, 8GB memory with 512MB of RAM. Other than that we can’t cipher any other detail of the device.
We’ll keep a lookout on the 703.

TRAI says Tata DOCOMO's network delivers on all network quality parameters

In last few days you must have seen the New Tata DOCOMO ads on TV suggesting ‘No getting away from the network that connects always. Everywhere’. The reason behind the present ad campaign is that Tata DOCOMO network delivers on all network quality parameters, as set by TRAI.
Tata DOCOMO claims that since the launch its network has improved significantly and is now comparable with the top players in the category. The company also claimed that over the last 2 years, it has completed the ramp-up of their network to support 2G as well as 3G services. Its network supports superior voice experience on calls & enables richer communication with friends and family by ensuring: Network Availability, Network Connectivity, Call Quality and Least congestion. Backed by globally most advanced network technology, network service delivery is now a key differentiator for Tata DOCOMO.
We say, it's not what TRAI says matters a lot, but what a cusomter of Tata DOCOMO feels, if Tata DOCOMO is keeping its customers happy when it comes to its network, they are doing well otherwise not.

AT&T announces HTC’s first Honeycomb tablet, the Jetstream

HTC’s 10-inch tablet which had been in the rumour mill for quite some time now by the name of Puccini is finally out. AT&T has officially unveiled the Jetstream which will be HTC’s first ever device to be powered by Android Honeycomb.
The tablet has a dual-core 1.5GHz snapdragon processor, a 10.1-inch screen with a WXGA resolution, a rear 8-megapixel camera as well as a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera, microSD expansion slot, and a 7300mAH battery. The tablet will come with the Scribe pen technology, similar to the Flyer tablet.

Sony Ericsson announces the Xperia Arc S

The slim and curvy Xperia Arc has been updated. Yes, Sony Ericsson has announced an updated version of the Xperia Arc at the IFA called the Xperia Arc S which will be hitting markets in October. You won’t see any design upgrade, however the processor has been upgraded. (Still no dual-core though)
The handset will now boast a 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor which will be a boost of about 40% on processing power. The handset will have the same looks; however the software has been updated. It will run on Android Gingerbread along with a few minor fixes and additions in the UI by Sony Ericsson. Also the 8.1 megapixel camera will include a 3D sweep panorama mode that lets you use the phone's 2D camera to generate 3D images for viewing over HDMI on compatible displays.

According to sources, we have found out that the Arc S will also support USB-on-the-go, which means now you can plus in your external storage devices and even USB powered keyboards, mice and more.
