Nokia had unveiled the Lumia 900 recently at the CES with LTE and Nokia's re-entry into the US market. While expectations were high from the device, it hasn't made a big impact yet. The specs seem pretty much the same as the Lumia 800 and even in the looks department it seems similar.

Now according to rumours, Nokia will be providing the Lumia 900 to AT&T in the US for an exclusive period. After the exclusive period is over, the company will be providing all the carriers with improved 12MP camera fitted Lumia 900s in May.

Nokia might have switched on to the Windows OS, but it is still raking in huge numbers in Symbian downloads. Not only that, India along with China, Brazil, Russia and Turkey has added to Nokia store's popularity. N8 is the device that ranked in most downloads followed by 5800, 5233, 5230 and C3.

The survey results are no surprise, because even though Nokia's market share has eroded in Europe and U.S., it still has a stronghold in these counties. Also contributing to Nokia's market growth is the factor that its Symbian phones are cheaper in comparison to high-end phones such as Apple's iPhone or high-end Android phones such as the Motorola Droid Razr.

Well sources are confirming that Nokia has bought, Smarterphone, a Norwegian company who develops mobile OS by the same name for feature phones. But what is the OS Smarterphone like? Well Smarterphone makes it possible to deliver a user experience similar to smart phones on affordable hardware, and allows unique flexibility for tailoring handset software to different markets. Thus making any lower end device running on the OS, pose not less than a smartphone.

Back in February, Nokia decided to ditch Symbian and go ahead with Microsoft's Windows Phone OS for all its future devices. So that has left Symbian for development of lower end devices. But now after buying Smarterphone, is Nokia going to introduce a new breed of lower-end Smartphones to expand its hold in some of its emerging market? Well time will tell. Until then we can only keep guessing and run our brains to understand the motive of Nokia buying Smarterphone.

The rumours mills are on a roll and this time they are bringing in information on Nokia's upcoming Nokia 900/Ace. The 900 will sport a larger 4.3 inch screen as compared to Nokia 800's 3.7 inch screen.

According to the latest reports, the Lumia 900 will not be running on Windows Phone Tango OS, but instead will run only on WP Mango 7.5. It will have a 4.3-inch WVGA screen with Nokia's Clear Black Display technology. There will be 512MB of RAM and a 1.4 GHz Qualcomm processor. There'll be an 8MP camera at the rear and a powerful 1830mAh battery to support the LTE radio onboard.
Also the device may weigh about 160 grams, which is just 14 grams more than the Lumia 800, all thanks to the LTE radio and larger screen. The thickness of the device is supposed to remain at 12 millimetres, same as that of the Lumia 800. At the upcoming CES 2012, Nokia is also rumoured to reveal a Lumia 719 which will be a mid-range Windows Phone.
