Remember, we told you about a Patent infringment case that Motorola filed against Apple in German court? Motorola had won the case with regards to the patents it held with 3G standards which had forced Apple to remove its 3G / UMTS-enabled iPads and iPhone 4s from its online German store, in response to a court ruling. But later the products returned. Now Motorola is asking Apple to pay just 2.25% of all the 3G-enabled devices it has sold till date.

Now that looks to be a small amount but if calculated it comes down to $2.1 billion and now that’s too much money.

Back in November we saw Motorola Defy+ available in India via Flipkart. At that time the rugged device was priced at about Rs. 17,990. But now the device has seen a price cut.

Motorola has just decided to cut down on the price of the device, which is not much but just Rs. 2,000 and this brings down the device to Rs. 15,990. Though this cut is not a huge one, but it has brought the device into a much affordable range. Going by the features that the Depy+ has, this device is now a great buy.

Motorola wins preliminary injunction against Apple in GermanyIt seems that Apple and patent cases are made for each other and has too many legal cases going on here and there and where not. And this time it's not against the regular partner in legal cases, Samsung but Motorola who has actually won a preliminary injunction against Apple's products in Germany.
The patent in question is related to GPRS connectivity whose patent is said to be held by Motorola and according to the company is being used by Apple in its iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, iPad 3 and iPad 3GS. Not only that, Motorola says that the same is being used in Apples latest iPhone 4S too. Now if Motorola wants, it can choose to enforce the injunction in Germany thus preventing Apple from selling its product in the country but to do so Motorola requires to provide a €100 million bond to the court. That's a lot of money and if in case Motorola loses this case, then it has to play the amount to Apple.
