It's official; Sony buyout of Sony Ericsson approved by EU

It’s done. Sony has finally bought out Ericsson’s share in Sony Ericsson and EU has given the final nod to the $1.47 Billion takeover.
Sony made the announcement that its 10-year partnership with Ericsson had come to an end in October last year. Since then, we have seen Sony’s flagship handsets making an appearance at this year’s CES.
In ten years that they were together, Sony and Ericsson have both pleasant and sad memories to look back upon. Some of their first handsets bombed terribly in the market. Then, they bounced back with Walkman phones. But it was the Xperia range that eventually became their trump card. If there is one thing that has been constant in the Sony Ericsson saga, it is good cameras on-board. In our opinion, it was SE Xperia phones that really made the camera on the phone a viable concept and set the ground for today, when a good camera is an essential feature for a handset to do well.Nokia to offer camera/audio fixes on the Lumia 800 soon

It seems despite having a sky-high price; the Nokia Lumia handset has developed some snags that lead to poor user experience. While Nokia just addressed the battery drainage on the Lumia 800, it just doesn’t enough to satisfy us.

While the battery update, according to Nokia, is meant to “enhance standby time as well as to bring an improvement to the issue reported by some customers in December,” it seems people have voiced their concerns with audio and camera of the Lumia 800.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab range is set to get even more exciting with a 11.6 inch Galaxy Tab. The tablet could actually make its debut at the Mobile World Congress next month. The tablet might also feature a 2 GHz processor and 2560 x 1600 WXQGA resolution. While we wait with hands on our hearts for the S III, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 s what we might end up seeing.

This also raises a question: How big a tablet do we really need? Is 10.1-inches enough or should we dare to go bigger? Personally, I think if tablets are to replace laptops ever, they would need apart from a great OS, a keyboard and at least a 13-inch/15-inch screen.
