LG shows off the 5-incher Optimus Vu

LG has revealed a new device which marks its entry to the “ph-ablet” category. The LG Optimus Vu is a 5 inch device which has a 4:3 aspect ratio. The device has made an appearance on video and device does seem pretty sweet with sharp looks.

Mobile phones make up for 8.5 percent of Internet usage, according to Statcounter

While the mobile browsing experience still needs to cover a lot of room to match up with desktop browsing, it seems it is catching up fast. A study by StatCounter reports that smartphone make up for 8.5 percent of downloads and uploads. Mobile usage, it seems has doubled up from just 4.3% last year. Among brands, Nokia raked in the top Internet usage, followed by Apple, Samsung, RIM and HTC.

LG Miracle Windows Phone image leaked

Pocketnow is known for leaking images and information about upcoming devices and they are at it again. This time around they have got us the image and specs information of ‘LG Miracle’ running Windows Phone OS which is a mid-range device. The Miracle is the same device that we saw as the ‘LG Fantasy’ back in December.

With this it’ll also have a front facing VGA camera.

Global variant of Nokia 900 in White leaked by Nokia on Facebook (by mistake)

So just today we saw Nokia announce that its Lumia 800 will arrive dressed in White later this month and today we see the Finnish company accidently post a picture of 800’s big-brother, the Lumia 900 in White. Nokia initially tagged the post as Nokia 800 in White but if we look at the picture closely, we can see the front-camera.Nokia-900-WhiteAnd thus Nokia leaked out a very-beautiful looking Lumia 900 which seems to be a global variant as it doesn’t sport the AT&T logo on it. Also the global variant is expected to arrive sans the LTE radio. It’ll be interesting to see as to as to when this white-coloured device will reach the global shores but with the image leaking out now, expect it to arrive soon. We are expecting an announcement of the same at the upcoming MWC later this month.

Don’t you hate it when you receive pop-ups and ads that constantly bug you? While it does fetch a lot of revenue for people who put up the ads, it isn’t pleasing for users/consumers. Ads have already reached our mobile phones, and now they are going to creep into the social media content on your mobile.

The Financial Times has reported that Facebook will be bringing ads to mobile devices in the next two months. A number of individuals affiliated with Facebook's planning say that it has been in discussions with advertising agencies about displaying "featured stories" in the news feed on mobile devices. These could arrive by early March, ahead of Facebook's initial public offering.
