The Nokia Lumia 800 has been proclaimed as one of the best smartphones of 2011 and even got a phone of the year award. The handset quite literally reflects the partnership of Nokia with Microsoft.


Launched in December, the handset was welcomed nicely by customers. However, users were later not satisfied with the handset as they claimed that the smartphone had battery draining issues.

The Ice Cream Sandwich OS is one OS update that everyone is looking forward to. While many high-end devices have already got the update, some are still lacking behind. How many times have you run out of battery on your phone? Well, there is just one answer to that; numerous. So, here's a phone that will take care of that, almost permanently. The SpareOne phone from XPal runs on a single AA battery and is claimed to keep its charge for up to 15 years.

Samsung had announced the Omnia W, a probable upgrade of the Omnia 7 in October and finally launched the device in December with the new Windows Phone Mango update.


While the handset doesn't have any high-end specs, the Super AMOLED display and the moderate price segment make it a good buy. We got our hands on the device and here are some hands-on pictures of the smartphone in action.

Ever since phones got smarter (i.e. smartphones), one issue that has constantly popped up is battery life. Even high-end phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S2 haven't been able to cope up with battery requirements. But that is set to change, according to Samsung.

In an interview to CNET, Samsung responded, "When you wake up to when you go to bed, we don't want you feeling anxiety about your battery life."

Sony Ericsson has officially made Live with Walkman Android smartphone available to the masses in India. Sony Ericsson is still putting in efforts to revive its walkman series and this is the latest offering by the company.

News has been creeping around that Korean giant Samsung is planning to buy RIM, or rightly a part of RIM in the near future. A source had earlier claimed that RIM co-chief executive Jim Balsillie was meeting with companies interested in either licensing its software or buying a part or all of RIM and the first vendor in line is Samsung.

LG unveils Optimus Pad LTE in Korea

OEMs are really getting into the LTE business by launching various devices in countries supporting the 4G network. LG Electronics, for that matter, has unveiled a new LTE device which is its first LTE-capable tablet, the Optimus Pad LTE.
The tablet will make its debut in Korea and will be launched in other countries later on. The tablet has LTE technology and True HD IPS display, which were earlier featured on the Optimus LTE smartphone.
