Nokia may bring slimmer Pureview devices

The recently announced the Nokia 808 PureView comes with a whooping 41 MP camera sensor at its back which is indeed awesome but then it makes the smartphone a little bulky with the hump at the back. But if the latest news is to be believed, we may see slimmer PureView smartphones from the Finnish giant.

This comes in straight from Vesa Jutila, who is the Head of Product Marketing for Nokia 808 PureView who has said that additional handsets featuring the same camera technology are in the pipeline.

Sony Mobile Communications has launched three new smartphones in its NXT range which were showcased in India back in April. The new Xperia U, P and Sola are now officially launched and will start hitting shelves this month.


The Xperia U and Xperia Sola are already retailing and Xperia P will be available in the last week of this month.

Announced just around the Mobile World Congress, the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 is the successor to the Galaxy Ace. But the smartphone still came with Android 2.3 Gingerbread showing signs that it might not get an Android 4.0 upgrade.

Just last week, we shared with you about a rumour which stated that Google may be planning to launch multiple (Read 5) Google Nexus devices which may include both smartphones and tablets, later this year and was in talks with manufacturers for developing the devices.

A company called VIA has launched an ultra cheap Android PC which is a full-fledged computer device that looks like a motherboard complete with ports and integrated chips onboard.


Called the APC, it runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and allows you to run the platform on a PC like environment.

It seems that Google’s much rumoured and much awaited 7-inch tablet may go on to ship from June with an initial shipments of 600,000 units. The news comes in from Digitimes, who is quoting its sources from the upstream supply chain that the device will go on to be released in July.

Nvidia has surely made its mark in the mobile industry by launching the Tegra 3 chipset with quad processor. However it is only available on high end devices, but Nvidia plans to change all of that.


Nvidia’s CEO Jen-Hsun Huang briefly showed off a new 7 inch quad-core tablet back at CES and he claimed that it might be priced at about $250. Since then he has been boasting about the fact that $199 Tegra 3 Android tablets could soon be a reality this year.
S-Voice knows less about Samsung and more about Apple

A couple of weeks back we saw Apple’s Virtual Personal assistant, Siri make a blunder when the app went on to name its competitor, the Nokia Lumia 900 as the ‘Best Cell Phone Ever’. But then, Apple was quick enough to re-program Siri and changed her mind.

So the wait is finally over! Samsung India has finally started rolling out the much-awaited and delayed Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its 5.3 inch Phablet Galaxy Note in India. Our sources in Samsung have also confirmed the same.


The update is currently available for download for all Galaxy Note users through the Kies Software and is of about 319 MB with the firmware PDA:LP8 / PHONE:LP4 / CSC:LP5 (INU).

Are you one of those who are not able to access the leaked S-Voice service which is exclusively for the Samsung Galaxy S III? Well you are not alone. As soon as the personal voice assistant for the S III got leaked, Samsung took no time in blocking users to access the service.


S-Voice makes use of Vlingo’s servers and thus it was easy for both Samsung and Vlingo to block access to non-S III devices and returned a ‘Network Error’ result. Today, Samsung has gone ahead and officially accepted that it has blocked the app
