MTNL and DigiVive to launch Mobile TV services

mtnlMTNL has partnered with DigiVive (a mobile-value-added services provider) to provide to offer mobile television and voice-interactive- response (IVR) services to its customers.

The service called ‘nexGTv’ is a mobile TV service offering live TV channels and an exhaustive list of Video-On-Demand (VOD) content on mobile. This service will be available for both 2G as well as 3G users with compatible handsets. It will provide over 50 live TV channels ranging from entertainment, reality, news, religious to popular regional channels.

"This is yet another endeavour to provide to our customers a chance to view a whole range of Live TV channels and VOD. The content has been chosen to suit the need of every customer," MTNL CMD Kuldip Singh said.

nexGTv service would be available on a monthly subscription of Rs.99, weekly for Rs.35 and per day for Rs.8 for all the channels while the subscription charges for Vmotion will be Rs.30 per month, Rs.10 per week and Rs.3 per day with no video call charges.

MTNL Mumbai has introduced new unlimited plans for its triband service with time based speeds. The new plans cost from Rs. 555/- to Rs.1333/-. Time based speed means that users will get variable speeds during day and night and will get full download speed on Sundays. Users will also get a free email id. The plans are effective from the 15th of May 2011.

Push-Mail services launched by MTNL (Delhi) in collaboration with Bharatberry

MTNL has launched a push-mail service for subscribers in Delhi circle in association with Bharatberry. The service will enable its subscribers to get advanced push-mail with over the air backup of their contacts, tasks, calendar and notes along with sync to their outlook through the servers hosted in India. Also a provision of over-the-air synchronisation of calendar and contacts for multiple mail accounts will also be provided.

The service will be supported by all range of handsets carrying Blackberry OS, Symbian, Android, Windows Mobile and J2ME, which will cover all major mobile handset like Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, LG, Blackberry, HTC etc. Since it supports multiple device platform, same account can be used or moved to any other mobile handset. In case of  loss or damage of handset the users don’t lose their emails sent from the device neither their contacts. All e-mails sent from the device  get stored in your original web account sent folder.

The push-mail service will be available for both 2G and 3G MTNL customers and both pre-paid and post-paid subscribers can access to all services including e-mails and Personal Information Manager (PIM) sync for Rs. 80 per month for the combo pack and the individual services will be available for Rs. 50 each per month.

MTNL takes initiative for disaster struck Japan, reduces ISD call rates to Japan

mtnl_logoWith the world praying for the ones in Japan, everybody is doing their part to help the people of Japan. The tsunami and the earthquake took its toll and left Japan in pain. With over millions under peril, the countries of the world are doing their part to help the needy.

With a lot of telecom operators reducing their rates for call to Japan, MTNL have joined this initiative. MTNL has reduced ISD call rates to Japan.  MTNL Landline customers can call Japan fixed line numbers for only Rs 1.25/ min,  while calls to Japan Mobile is at Rs 4/ min. This scheme will be shortly introduced for MTNL GSM Mobile customers also. The special rates will be for a limited period.

Get ready to enjoy Unlimited 3G connection at Rs. 750/month if you are in Delhi and using MTNL, as the operator has annouced a promotional tariff for its Prepaid and Postpaid. Last year in November BSNL also announced similar tariffs as a promotional offer which is valid till the end of this month.

Here are the MTNL (Delhi) 3G tariff details

*Initially a cap of 200 GB shall be placed, however if any customer exceeds the usage, the excess charges can be waived off.

Notes:
(i) Initially the new data coupons will be launched in Etopup system and later the printed coupons may be introduced looking after the market response.
(ii)As per current MTNL Policy, Postpaid discounts will be offered from the date of billing cycle and not from the date of activation.
(iii)Other terms and conditions will remain the same. 

The Promotional scheme shall be implemented for 90 days w.e.f  31.01.2011 to 30.04.2011.

MTNL is offering special benefits to customers porting to MTNL network. The MNP porting charges of Rs 19 is waived off. The customers opting prepaid services can get a prepaid 3G SIM card at Rs 10, with talk time of Rs 91. This SIM also offer host of other Free benefits such as 200 MB data for 30 days, 100 min voice calls, 100 min video calls and Free 10,000 SMS on local MTNL network for 30 days.


Similarly customers opting for Post paid plans will get 3G SIM with Free benefits such as No activation charges, 25% discount will be given on monthly rental for 3months, free 50 MB data per month for 4 months, 500 local and national SMS for one month and 100 min of video calls on local  MTNL network for one month.

These new packs will offer Per second call charges along with talk time for Trump  prepaid customers. Under this scheme customers’ buying Trump  SIM of Rs. 10 along with FTRC of Rs 145 will  get talk time of Rs 160 and FTRC of Rs 301 will offer talk time of Rs 350.

The customers using these coupons can enjoy all calls to MTNL (Mumbai and Delhi) Network just at 1paisa / 2sec. All local calls to other networks and STD calls are charged at 1paisa/1sec. MTNL has branded its Broadband service as “Triband” and claims that "Its Broadband services are very popular amongst high end and internet savvy customers. There is heavy demand of MTNL broadband in Mumbai and there is a huge rush for booking of connections."

According to the company the major attraction of MTNL broadband is that upload is totally free for which many other operators charge at the same rate as download charge.

MTNL (Mumbai) regularize Add-on Packs

mtnl-logoMTNL (Mumbai) has introduced add-on packs for its Landline subscribers sometime back as a promotional offer. This add-packs are now regularized. By using the add-on plans with existing monthly plan MTNL subscribers can avail extra free calls offered under these packs during the month. There are three Add- on- packs of monthly rental Rs 50, Rs 100 and Rs 200.

These packs offer 65, 140 and 290 calls free respectively. MTNL subsribers can avail this facility by dialing the Call center and will be charged for these packs in their bill and the Free calls will be credited to their account. The validity of the packs is only for one month. If the customers wish to continue or change the Add- on – pack they need to subscribe again the next month.
