Loop mobile has introduced a very innovative plan for all Mumbaikars which provides all local calls to Loop subscribers at just 10 paise/min.This plan gives subscriber the freedom to call anyone having Loop mobile connection in mumbai whether prepaid or postpaid at just 10 paise/min regardless of the plan your call receiving subscriber is having.Loop Mobile has further given the freedom to choose per second pulse instead of the traditional minute pulse.Their other plan allows their subscribers to call Loop mobile numbers for as low as 1 paise/6 seconds. This new offer is an extension to the "Dus Ka Gang" scheme introduced by Loop Mobile last year which was a major hit amongst youth. To avail the "10 paise/minute" plan a user has to recharge with Rs 29, Rs 49 or Rs 236 having validity of 15 days,30 days and 30 days with a talktime of Rs 200 respectively and to avail the "1 paise/6 seconds" plan a user has to recharge with Rs 28, Rs 47 or Rs 235 denominations having validity of 15 days,30 days and 30 days with a talktime of Rs 200 respectively.
This plan is good for people having high On-net calling usage.Loop mobile should target consumers by giving more offers on the Off-net front instead in this highly competitive market. All in all an okay scheme for those who burn their pockets calling their near and dear ones on same network.

Mumbai-based GSM telecom service provider Loop Telecom will launch its mobile services in the Tamil Nadu and Orissa circles by next week.“To comply with the norms laid down by the government, we will launch with 10 per cent coverage in Tamil Nadu and Orissa,” said a senior executive of Loop Telecom.Company will roll out in three other circles in South India within 10-15 days of our launch in the first two circles.Loop telecom is not doing a large-scale commercial launch at this point in time. This is to meet regulatory requirements, according to the executive.
Loop Telecom, a subsidiary of Loop Mobile (formerly BPL Mobile Comm), is one of theeight new players given a mobile service licence. Last year, the company got the licence to start GSM operations in 21 telecom circles in the country. It has been allocated spectrum in 20 circles.
The licence says operators are required to cover at least 10 per cent of each district headquarters in a circle in the first year.
Loop recently contracted with Chinese network equipment vendor ZTE. With next week’s launch, the company will become the first new GSM operator to launch its services, in an already crowded market.
Besides the presence of incumbents like Airtel, Vodafone and Idea, the recent entry of CDMA major Reliance has brought a new wave of declining rates in the sector. Aircel also made its foray into the mainstream GSM space with the launch of operations in Delhi and Mumbai.
BPL mobile to morph into Loop Mobile

BPL Mobile, the country's oldest mobile telecom service provider, has changed its name to ‘Loop Mobile', following the expiry of its brand usage agreement with TPG Nambiar-owned BPL Group. The company, which is facing an ownership battle between Ruias of Essar Group and the UK-based Vodafone, does not expect "any issues" to arise from the name change "Loop is an extension of an ongoing campaign, ‘Get in the Loop', and it will be easy for our subscriber to identify with this new brand name. The new name signifies a vibrant company and appeals to the youth of the country," BPL Mobile Director and CEO Sanjeev Chachondia told here today. The new logo of ‘Loop Mobile' has been designed keeping in mind youthful vitality, excitement and freshness that the company stands for, he added. The company is planning a multi-hued campaign - green, purple, pink and blue - for the new brand, as against the conventional mode of a company trying to identify itself with a single hue.
Chachondia said the change in brand would not give rise to any issues, as there is no change in ownership nor in shareholding pattern.
The Essar group-owned company's agreement with the Bangalore-based BPL Group for the use of the brand was being renewed on a yearly basis. For this year, the contract would expire by end of this month. BPL Mobile was paying a fixed fee to BPL Group, which could not be ascertained due to a non-disclosure norm.
BPL Mobile was founded by Nambiar's son-in-law Rajeev Chandrasekhar and was later sold to the Ruias of Essar. In July 2005, the Essar Group had acquired all circles and operations of BPL Mobile for Rs 4,400 crore, and had transferred them (except Mumbai to Hutchison International).
