MWC 2012: LG announces a new Wireless mobile charger

LG Electronics has unveiled its newest advanced wireless charger, WCD-800, at the Mobile World Congress. The WCD-800 is designed in the shape of a cradle to allow to the phone to be positioned vertically to make video calls and send text messages or horizontally to view TV programs and HD movies while charging.

LG’s newest charger allows you to charge your handset wirelessly without the need of any wires. With the WCD-800, charging is accomplished by simply placing the phone on the deck of the 75.8mm wide cradle. The charging area is double the size of LG’s previous wireless charger, the WCP-700.

MWC 2012: First ever Voice-to-Video conversion demonstrated on LTE network by LG

Last year LG had demonstrated Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and video calls. High definition video calls on smartphones were not possible before the introduction of LTE as 3G networks were unable to handle the volume of data at the speeds required for high quality video images.

Now, a whole new chapter in the books of LTE-networks has been written as LG has demonstrated the world’s first voice-to-video conversion over a LTE network at the MWC. The technology enables users to switch back and forth between high quality voice and high resolution video call modes during an ongoing telephone conversation. Also demonstrated was a video sharing service, which enables real-time sharing of videos over a LTE network, as they are being recorded.

LG’s Android line-up for MWC leaks [Videos & Pictures]

We already heard LG making announcements about the first ever quad-core smartphone, a 5 inch phablet, their newest 3D smartphone and their new L series. Well, all of them have made an appearance thanks to the Italian blog Telefonino.net.

LG Optimus 4X HD is the world’s first Quad-Core smartphone

LG was the first to introduce the dual-core smartphone with the Optimus 2X, and now the company has done it again by unveiling the world’s first quad-core smartphone. The LG Optimus 4X HD is the first ever handset to boast Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processor.

The quad-core processor clocks at 1.5GHz and has four main CPU cores along with a fifth core for low power tasks, making it the world’s only smartphone-sized 4-plus-1 core processor fitted in a smartphone.

LG makes the Optimus 3D MAX official at the MWC 2012

After a number of rumours and leaks, LG Electronics has finally unveiled the Optimus 3D Max, successor to the Optimus 3D, at the 2012 Mobile World Congress (MWC). The handset boasts glasses free 3D content and now has a better and expanded 3D ecosystem.

The smartphone has both 2D and 3D mode on a bright 4.3 inch display and also has an enhanced 3D Converter which can be used toggle between 2D and 3D thanks to a 3D Hot Key mounted on the side of the phone. LG also plans to continue expanding video contents, applications and games optimized for the 3D Converter available from the 3D Zone at LG SmartWorld.

LG explains new design strategy, announces L-styled Optimus L3, L5 and L7 Android smartphones

It is raining devices from LG’s side. The Korean giant is not ready to stop with the announcement of Optimus Vu and Optimus LTE Tag in the past two days and has today announced three more smartphones the Optimus L3, L5 and L7 which belong to a new L-Style design strategy adopted by the company.

LG Optimus LTE Tag to accompany Optimus Vu at the MWC

LG has announced its second Android running mobile phone, the Optimus LTE Tag which is arriving this weekend at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) along with the Optimus Vu that we saw yesterday.

As the name suggests the LG Optimus LTE Tag will have the LTE radio on-board and also be Near Field Communication (NFC) capable. LG will with the device provide sticky NFC sheets called the LG Tag+ by which can be used by users to switch between various profiles modes. For example stick the Car mode NFC sheet in your car, bring the LTE Tag near it and turn on the car mode profile, use Bluetooth, turn on navigation and much more.

LG announces Optimus Vu officially, the 5 inch phablet

LG has today surprised us by officially announcing its 5 inch phablet (phone + tablet) the Optimus Vu which is a direct competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy Note. We were expecting the announcement at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) next week. But it seems that LG was itching to launch the Vu.

Going by the specifications, all the precious rumours are correct and the Optimus Vu runs on QUALCOMM’s 1.5 GHz dual-core processor supported by a 1 GB RAM, has a 5 inch IPS display with display resolution of 1024 x 768 and aspect ratio of 4:3. There is an 8 MP camera at the back of the device with Auto Focus and LED Flash With this there is a 1.3 MP camera in the front. The device measures at 5.49 inch by 3.55 inches but it is just 8.5mm thick making it the slimmest device carrying a LTE radio on-board. Well the Vu will also be sporting a special Stylus just like the Galaxy Note.

LG Fantasy/Miracle now caught in a video, WP Tango on-board

The upcoming Windows Phone device from LG which is called either LG Fantasy E740 or LG Miracle has just been spotted in a video. After series of photo leaks and what not, we are finally able to view the device in action. According to rumours this particular device is running on the future Windows Phone Tango OS.

LG X3’s benchmark results and specs leaked, fastest of all

LG’s upcoming device the X3 has had its own share of leaks and rumours and well it is not here to just stop with it. More information on the benchmark test results and specs of the device has leaked out. The LG X3 is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC).

Going by the benchmark results, the X3 scored 4412 points which is an awesome score when compared to its major competitors like Samsung Galaxy Tab which scored a 3818 not exceeding even the 4000 mark. Next in the line below the Tab is the Samsung Galaxy Nexus which managed to stay on the 2000 border. Thus the LG X3 beats more of its like such as Motorola Droid 4 and even LG Spectrum.
