LG to bring in the Optimus UI 3.0 for its Ice Cream Sandwich devices

Almost every device manufacturer has its own UI over the stock Android ROM and today LG has announced its new UI for its line of Android Ice Cream Sandwich devices. Known as the Optimus UI 3.0, it is said to bring in key features, including Quick Memo, unique unlock functions and other new features.

Optimus UI 3.0 will have a new app called Quick Memo which will enable users to jot notes on the screen using a finger. Quick Memo in Optimus UI 3.0 will also allow users to share their thoughts through social networks, text messages and e-mails more conveniently.

The quad-core games have begun and almost every mobile handset manufacturer is getting into the game. Speaking of which, one of the very first quad-core handsets that was unveiled at the MWC 2012 was the LG Optimus 4X HD, and since it’s unveiling we haven’t heard anything about the smartphone.

LG is all in to take on Samsung. The very next day after Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S III to the world; LG went ahead and announced the LG LTE2 for Korea which came out with a whooping 2 GB RAM and huge 2150 mAh battery.
And now we see another LG device with some awesome specs. The LG LS970 has not been official announced but is probably heading over to Sprint’s network in the US under the name of 'LG Eclipse' LTE 4G.

So everyone out there who has been familiar with Samsung’s Galaxy S III launch and has been thinking that it is the best device launched until now, LG is all here to steal the spotlight. The very next day of its Korean counterpart announce the Galaxy S III, LG has announced the launch of the Optimus LTE2.

Now you would ask us why we are comparing the Optimus LTE2 with Galaxy S III and we would say because LG has launched the device with a giant 2 GB RAM (Yeah that’s 2 GB!). Phew!

LG Optimus L7 to launch in Europe this month

LG had unveiled its new L-series at the MWC 2012 and we even saw the budgeted Optimus L3 making its way to India. Today we have news that the LG Optimus L7 will begin arriving in European stores this week.

The smartphone has a 4.3-inch display, runs on the latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS and is pretty slim at 8.7mm.

LG Electronics has today officially launched its latest LTE smartphone, the Optimus True HD LTE in new markets across Europe and Asia including Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The smartphone was launched first in countries with LTE networks including Korea, Japan, Canada and the US and today the smartphone availability expands. The 720p display on the smartphone uses a full RGB matrix and which is totally different than what we see on AMOLED 720p screens which use a PenTile matrix.

LG has launched the Optimus 3D Max which was announced back at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Europe. The successor to the Optimus 3D, this second-generation 3D smartphone boasts an enhanced chipset and more enticing 3D entertainment.

The Optimus 3D Max includes a new 3D Converter which allows for a greater variety of 3D content as it converts 2D content from Google Earth, Google Maps and other mapping apps into 3D. It also has a 3D Hot Key mounted on the side of the phone which enables users to easily toggle between 2D and 3D.

LG D1L may arrive with LTE and S4 chip; 4.7 inch 720p screen like Optimus 4X HD

According to a leaked presentation slide, it seems that LG is planning to launch a smartphone ‘LG D1L’ which will be similar to the LG Optimus 4X HD but will go on to run on Snapdragon S4 processor instead of the Tegra 3 which is found on the 4X HD.
LG is planning this change in order to bring the much needed LTE support to its devices as the mobile tech world is moving towards it.

LG it seems has finally got its smartphone act together. Just a week after showing off the Optimus L3 handset at MWC in Barcelona. The Optimus L3 is the first in the L-series from LG.


Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications was quoted as saying – “We’ve always believed in the need to offer a variety of smartphone options and many people simply don’t want to pay for a lot of extra bells and whistles. We think the Optimus L3 offers all of basic smartphone-related benefits but in a more premium package that hasn’t been seen before on a smartphone in this category.”
