LG to unveil a Triple-SIM handset next month

If two SIM cards were not good enough for you, how about three? Yes, LG is rumoured to be launching it first ever triple-SIM handset. This isn’t a new concept for us Indians as we already have a number of triple-SIM slot equipped handsets by Intex, Olive, Akai, etc.


But, for a large company like LG, will a range of triple-SIM handsets be any good? Or may be LG is just experimenting on its features phones.

Here’s a new LG smartphone that has been leaked thanks to a Swedish online store. The Optimus L3 E400 seems to be a decent budget Android smartphone.


Although not officially announced, the Swedish online retailer CDON.com seems to be selling the handset on pre-order for €145.

LG Electronics had announced the Optimus LTE back in October boasting a nice HD display and LTE radio onboard. Today LG has reported that the sales of its Optimus LTE smartphone have exceeded over one million units, making it one of the largest selling LTE smartphones in the world.

The Optimus LTE was launched in Korea first and had reached 6,00,000 units in the first three months itself and about 8,500 units were sold on the first day of its launch in Japan. The world's first HD LTE smartphone is now currently available in the US, Canada, Japan and South Korea.

LG CX2 leaks, being touted as the Optimus 3D 2

A new handset by LG has leaked and has started making a stir in the smartphone market and is said to be successor of the Optimus 3D. Named as CX2, the leaked image of the handset shows dual-cameras at the back confirming that the handset will support 3D recording of images and videos.

LG Optimus Black owners in India finally get Android Gingerbread update

It was way back in November when we heard LG announcing that the Optimus series will get the Gingerbread update. While only dates for Europe were announced, there was no news as to when the updates will be rolled out in India.


Well, finally we are seeing some update roll out as sources tell us that the Optimus Black is now getting the Android 2.3.4 update via LG's software update tool.

So last year we saw a leaked handset by HTC called the Edge/Endeavor which was presumed to be the company's first quad-core running smartphone. Now itt seems that LG has also joined the quad-core league as PocketNow has bumped into a leaked handset which just might be LG's entry into the next generation of quad-core processor running smartphones.
Called as X3, the handset will have a 4.7 inch display with an HD resolution of 1280x720 and will run on an nVidia Tegra 3 chipset. The handset will have a slim profile despite the awesome hardware and is said to fall around the 9mm thickness profile. It will also have an 8MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front camera for your video calls. OEMs are really getting into the LTE business by launching various devices in countries supporting the 4G network. LG Electronics, for that matter, has unveiled a new LTE device which is its first LTE-capable tablet, the Optimus Pad LTE.
The tablet will make its debut in Korea and will be launched in other countries later on. The tablet has LTE technology and True HD IPS display, which were earlier featured on the Optimus LTE smartphone.

LG is said to be the first manufacturer that will adapt Intel's Medfield chipset that was showcased earlier. News comes straight from Korea Times that says LG will debut an Intel-powered Android smartphone at CES 2012.


Previous joint efforts by the two companies were a complete letdown when LG and Intel together planned to announce an Android handset at CES 2011. The handset was never launched and was eventually cancelled.

LG has made its recently announced PRADA phone by LG 3.0 available in South Korea. The smartphone is now available to Korean customers and will be released in most European countries and other parts of Asia in January.
The handset was in the rumour mill for months and was finally unveiled for the first time at a showcase event in London two weeks ago. The PRADA phone by LG 3.0 is the third handset from the PRADA and LG collaboration following the highly successful PRADA phone by LG 1.0 and 2.0 phones.

We haven't seen the other Korean mobile manufacturer, LG, showing much interest in Windows Phone. The only handset running Microsoft's latest mobile platform was the Jil Sanders E906 which was recently launched in the UK.
