Idea (Mumbai) launches new tariff. Local Idea to Idea Calls at 1p/5seconds

IDEA Cellular has introduced new call tariffs for over 1.2 million customers in Mumbai. As per the new tariff plan, IDEA prepaid subscribers in the city can now make phone calls at 1 paisa for 5 seconds to any other IDEA number in the city, and anywhere else in Maharashtra & Goa.The call rate of 1 paisa for 5 seconds is applicable on the recharge voucher of Rs. 17, for per second billing customers. IDEA customers on the per minute billing plan can avail 15 paisa per minute call tariff for Idea to Idea calling anywhere in the state, with the recharge voucher priced at Rs. 18.
The new tariff will be activated within 4 hours of recharge, and has a validity of 30 days.
Idea Cellular launches new SMS Packs in Kerala

IDEA Cellular has launched exciting ‘Free SMS’ packs for prepaid subscribers, in Kerala. The new offer has been specially designed targeting high SMS user categories such as the Youth who like to stay in touch with friends and family and share jokes and other messages; and young professionals and small entrepreneurs who need to reach out to prospective customers.
As per the new range of special SMS packs, IDEA prepaid subscribers can enjoy sending upto 350 free Local and National SMS, for a period of 30 days, with a special voucher priced at just Rs. 36. Another new SMS pack, priced at Rs. 24 offers 240 free local and national SMS for a period of 10 days. Customers who wish to send only local SMS can opt for Rs. 14 voucher offering 200 Local SMS absolutely free, for a period of 30 days.
In addition, IDEA customers can continue enjoying the existing SMS pack priced at Rs. 60, offering 600 local and national SMS for 30 days. The new SMS packs are available at over 220 exclusive IDEA showrooms, in addition to other IDEA retail outlets, across the state.
Idea's (UP East) New Tariff : All local calls at 40 paise

IDEA has launched new tariff for prepaid subscribers in Uttar Pradesh East. The new special tariff voucher will enable IDEA subscribers to make local calls at the lowest tariff of 40 paisa per minute, on any mobile or landline network.
Over 3 million IDEA subscribers in the region now have a special voucher which offers Local calls rate at just 40 paisa per minute, for a recharge of just Rs. 9, and tariff validity of one year. Customers can also make STD calls to any network in the country, at 60 paisa per minute, with this tariff voucher.
Launching the new product, Mr. N F Aibara, Chief Operating Officer - Uttar Pradesh East, IDEA Cellular said, “We continue to maintain our lead in offering the best value to mobile consumers in UP East, with the launch of lowest Local call tariff voucher. DEA Cellular has expanded its presence in Jammu & Kashmir by launching its services in 9 major Districts in the Valley. IDEA Cellular’s 2.75G EDGE enabled network now covers 12 districts in the state of J&K.
IDEA has expanded its network with nearly 300 cell sites, covering Srinagar City, Badgam, Anantnag, Mattan, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Ganderbal, Patan and Sumbal in the Valley, in addition to its recently launched network in Jammu City, Bari Brahmana, Bishnah, Katra, Udhampur and the Jammu-Katra Highway.
Mobile users in Kashmir will get the ‘freedom of choice’ with IDEA’s ‘Choose your Number’ service, wherein new subscribers can just send an SMS from an IDEA number and get a choice of mobile numbers. IDEA’s ‘Check your Bill’ service offers the freedom to check the user’s bill by simply dialing *147#.
In addition to its ‘Pay in Paisa 60’ plan, IDEA has now launched a special CUG Pack offering call rate of 18 paisa per minute within a group, at a rental of Rs. 18 per month.
IDEA has also introduced a voice portal with content in the areas of News, Sports, Entertainment, and other regional content in Dogri and Kashmiri languages for its subscribers in J&K.

Idea (Gujarat) launches new tariff for Postpaid and Prepaid subscribers

IDEA (Gujarat) has introduced Postpaid plan with free CUG feature (intra-group) and other calls at 1 paisa/second or 50 paisa/min tariffs. With a rental of Rs. 249, customers can enjoy unlimited inter calling within a group with 24,000 local seconds or 400 local minutes and 150 local SMS free. All local and STD calls outside the group can be made at 1paisa per second or 50 paisa per minute depending on the plan. Group size can be anywhere between 3 – 10 members.In a similar initiative, IDEA has launched 1 paisa per 2 seconds and 10 paisa per minute plan for prepaid customers. Customers availing this plan will get to make all Idea Local calls at the lowest tariff of 1 paisa per 2 seconds or 10 paisa per minute. To avail the offer of idea local calls at 1 paisa per 2 seconds tariff plan, IDEA prepaid subscribers can purchase a special voucher priced at Rs.47 where as to avail the offer of idea local calls at 10 paisa per minute IDEA prepaid subscriber need to purchase special voucher priced at Rs. 123. Both the tariff voucher will be valid for a period of 1 Month.

IDEA expands in North East; launches services in Meghalaya

IDEA Cellular has expanded its presence in the North East by launching its 2.75G EDGE enabled GSM network in Meghalaya. The launch in Meghalaya comes close on the heels of IDEA’s recent launch in Assam.IDEA has already set up a network of 69 cell sites in the north eastern states, which will be expanded to 428 cell sites by March 2010, to offer mobile services to over 25 lakh people in the six states of North East.
IDEA has launched two tariff plans for mobile users in Meghalaya. IDEA’s ‘Ek Se Badhkar Ek’ tariff plans offer a choice to mobile users, between per second and per minute tariff plans, depending on their consumption patterns and affordability. Mobile users in Meghalaya can now avail IDEA’s per second tariff plan offering all Local and STD calls at just 1 paisa per second or the per minute tariff plan offering Local calls at 40 paisa per minute and STD at 60 paisa per minute.

Idea Cellular is giving its subscribers the 'freedom of choice' with the launch of a unique service in Jammu & Kashmir. As per the new service, new postpaid Idea subscribers can now select a mobile number of their choice when they take up an Idea connection.To make the number choice, customer just needs to approach the nearest Idea retailer with the request. Retailer will send an SMS to the Idea toll free SMS short code 555666 to enquire about availability of the number.If the number is available, the retailer will immediately 'block' the number in the name of the customer through another SMS.
Existing Idea subscribers can also check availability of a number by simply sending a text message CKNUM

IDEA Cellular has announced the launch of its 2.75G EDGE enabled GSM network in Assam , With this, IDEA Cellular, an Aditya Birla Group Company is in near completion of its pan-India network roll out with presence in 21 telecom circles in India.IDEA has launched its services with the lowest tariff plan all local calls to any network just at 40 paisa and All STD calls will be charged at 60 paisa.The operator also launches One Paisa One Second Tariff Plan for its GSM Prepaid Customers in Assam.
IDEA has launched its services in the largest North Eastern state of Assam circles, which has a population base of 32 million, and a low mobile tele-density of just 22%. IDEA’s services in the remaining circle of North East, comprising of the six states of Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh will be launched later in the year.
