IDEA Cellular covers Assam under its national GSM network

IDEA Cellular has announced the launch of its 2.75G EDGE enabled GSM network in Assam , With this, IDEA Cellular, an Aditya Birla Group Company is in near completion of its pan-India network roll out with presence in 21 telecom circles in India.IDEA has launched its services with the lowest tariff plan all local calls to any network just at 40 paisa and All STD calls will be charged at 60 paisa.The operator also launches One Paisa One Second Tariff Plan for its GSM Prepaid Customers in Assam.
IDEA has launched its services in the largest North Eastern state of Assam circles, which has a population base of 32 million, and a low mobile tele-density of just 22%. IDEA’s services in the remaining circle of North East, comprising of the six states of Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh will be launched later in the year.
IDEA Cellular’s mobile telephony services will be available in 13 districts of Assam – Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Cacher, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Kamrup, Karbi Anglong, Kokrajhar, Nagaon, Nalbari, Sibsagar, Sonitpur and Tinsukia – at the launch phase. The mobile operator will double its network to 500 cell sites to cover 19 districts, including 56 major towns and over 1,400 villages in Assam, by March 2010. IDEA will also set up a network of 450 cell sites in the North East region by March 2010.
The warm yellow IDEA logo, symbolizing strength, vibrancy and vitality, will now cover the entire length and breadth of the country. IDEA’s recent launch in Kolkata & West Bengal, followed by Assam , strengthens its network in the East, and offers unparalleled mobile connectivity in the region.
IDEA will establish several customer service centres and a robust retail network of exclusive ‘My Idea Stores’, ‘Idea Points’ and other outlets. This retail and service network will grow to over 4,420 retail outlets and 35 exclusive showrooms in Assam , by March 2010. Aimed at achieving visibility and real time experience, these customer touch points will significantly enhance IDEA’s distribution network and help reach out to its customers across all segments, and the deepest interiors of the state.
IDEA is the leader in the introduction of value added services in the Indian mobile telephony market. With the launch of services, mobile users in the state will now have a rich experience while using value added services such as Music download, Dialer Tones, Voice chat, web-infotainment, high-speed internet Data Card, and other Internet-based multi-media experiences on their EDGE-enabled mobile phones.
IDEA has started an exclusive portal – Asomi Aai Rupohi – in Assamese language for the mobile users in the region. The portal will offer Assamese songs, movie reviews and other rich content targeted at the youth. IDEA subscribers in Assam can also avail other VAS and GPRS services such as Idea Music Station, Yahoo Messenger, Dialer Tones etc. IDEA will also introduce a range of affordable tariff plans for mobile users in Assam .

Idea (Maharashtra & Goa) launches New Tariff - All calls at 50 paise/min

IDEA Cellular has announced the new tariff for mobile users in Maharashtra and Goa Circle. The new tariff offers all STD, Local calls and SMS rates at just 50 paisa per minute, on any mobile or landline network in India. To avail the special tariff benefits, existing IDEA prepaid subscribers can recharge with the new Value Voucher priced at just Rs. 57, with a validity of 12 months. New prepaid subscribers of IDEA can also avail of the reduced call and SMS rates.
The special call rate of 50 paisa per minute for STD & Local calls on any network in India, will be applicable from the second minute of the day. Regular tariff will apply for the first minute of STD and first minute of Local call of the day.

IDEA Cellular, a recent entrant in Chennai & Tamil Nadu, has announced new tariff plans for mobile users in the state. The new tariff plans will offer more flexibility and freedom of calling to all categories of users – both low and high end – by offering lowest call rates in the market, and a bouquet of free Value Added Services.
IDEA subscribers in the state can now avail lowest call tariffs at 40 paisa per minute for all Local calls, and 50 paisa per minute for all STD calls on any mobile or landline network in the country. Along with reduced call rates, IDEA subscribers availing this tariff plan will also get 100 local and national SMS’ free per day. The first two local SMS’ will be charged at 50 paisa each, to get the free SMS service activated. To avail this tariff, existing IDEA subscribers can purchase a special voucher priced at Rs. 14, whereas new subscribers can get it for Rs.37, with a talktime of Rs.15.
IDEA Cellular has also introduced a Pay Per Second plan offering all ISD, STD and Local calls chargeable on per second basis. IDEA subscribers availing this plan will get to make all Local and STD calls on any network in India, at the lowest tariff of 1 paisa per second. ISD calls will also be charged on a per second basis. This plan also offers 750 local SMS’ free per day, after the first 3 SMS which will be charged at 60 paisa per SMS. Existing IDEA subscribers in Chennai & Tamil Nadu can avail this plan through a recharge of Rs. 15, whereas new subscribers can recharge with Rs. 38 voucher, with a talktime of Rs.15.
New IDEA prepaid subscribers availing any of the two new tariff plans will also get a bouquet of value added services, absolutely free. This includes zero monthly rental for Dialer Tone service for one month; free Song selection for a period of 7 days from the date of activation; and free Missed Call Information for one month.

IDEA Cellular has announced two tariff plans offering lowest call and SMS tariff in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. As per the new value voucher, IDEA subscribers in the state can now avail local call rate for as low as just 40 paisa per minute from Idea to Idea, and 50 paisa per minute from Idea to any other mobile or landline network in the state.

IDEA has introduced “Super 50” tariff plans which offers Local, STD and SMS across India at just 50 paise per minute. Under the “Super 50 L” offer, new IDEA subscribers can call their friends and family anywhere in Andhra Pradesh for just 50 paisa per minute, for a period of one year, through a recharge voucher priced at Rs. 37. Mumbaikars can now make all Local calls for just 40 paisa per minute on the IDEA network for a period of one year. IDEA Cellular has announced a tariff plan for mobile users in the city offering local calls at 40 paisa per minute, and STD and SMS at 50 paisa per minute, on any mobile and landline network.To avail the special tariff benefits, existing IDEA prepaid subscribers can recharge with the new tariff voucher priced at Rs. 47, and validity of one year. New prepaid subscribers of IDEA can avail the reduced call rates from the first recharge itself.
Regular tariff will apply for the first minute of the day. Subsequently, the special call rate of 40 paisa for Local calls and 50 paisa for STD calls will be applicable.
