Idea Cellular has introduced 'Unlimited GPRS' plans for Mumbaikars. Unlimited GPRS Pack for 30 days is available at Rs. 98. Those who wish to access GPRS services for limited period, can go for Rs. 8 per day plan, offering free usage for up to 70 MB download. The daily plan would remain active, until deactivated by the user, and charges of Rs. 5 per MB will apply for download beyond 70 MB limit. Mr. Sashi Shankar, Chief Operating Officer - Mumbai, IDEA Cellular said, “Large number of mobile users are now accessing data services on their phones.IDEA has taken the lead to address this growing demand by introducing consumer friendly and flexible tariff plans which will give a new dimension to mobile experience for users in Mumbai. Idea cellular has come up with a new campaign called 'Idea Oongli Cricket', this summer. During this campaign question based on the events and happenings of the ongoing match of the day will be asked.‘Idea Oongli Cricket’ can be played by all mobile phone users by SMSing their answer to ‘9594939291’. The number is toll free for Idea subscribers, and standard messaging rates apply for other mobile subscribers. All Idea customers who send in the correct answer will get Idea VAS Packs for three days and participants using other operators will win VAS Packs for one day.

The registered users are linked to www.usemobilesavepaper.in micro-site which enables the user to send unlimited messages and win Blackberry smart phones in return.
As part of the interactive game, every user get a seed to nurture and grow. By sending 15 SMS to unique mobile numbers per day, the user gets 15 points to grow the seed into a tree. By further nurturing, the tree yields fruits which can be redeemed for a Blackberry smart phone. This green initiative was kicked-off on February 15th and will continue till March 10th, 2010 to connect with millions of mobile users across India and engage them in the campaign. IDEA offers paperless ticket travel on Bandra-Worli Sea Link & Delhi Noida Direct flyover

IDEA Cellular’s green campaign has made people think about newer, greener ideas to ‘Use Mobile, Save Paper’. IDEA has embarked upon a major drive to mobilize innovative ways to spread the green message through a complete 360 degree media campaign.To demonstrate such unique ideas, IDEA Cellular is giving Mumbaikars and Delhiites, the chance to experience a day when they can use their mobile phones for paying road toll and to watch a movie, thus doing away with the paper toll tickets. IDEA has come up with a new campaign on Radio urging people to participate in a simple SMS contest which will entitle them to a Code (via SMS) which can then be flashed as their “Mobile ticket” to travel on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link in Mumbai, and the Delhi Noida Direct flyover.
The first 4,000 people in Mumbai, who SMS ‘Idea sealink’ to 58888 and show interest in the initiative will receive a thank you SMS which will enable them to travel absolutely free and ticket less on a single journey, either way, on the Bandra Worli Sea link on Thursday, 25th February between 8 am to 12 noon. Addtionally, 200 people who SMS ‘Idea movie’ to 58888 will win free tickets to the screening of movie ‘Karthik calling Karthik’ at PVR Cinemas on Thursday, February 25, 2010.

IDEA Cellular (Mumbai ) has introduced two new special tariff vouchers for those who talk more at night IDEA prepaid customers can now avail 500 mins of Free calling at Night through a recharge of Rs. 29. This voucher has a tariff validity of 30 days. Another voucher priced at Rs. 23 offers lowest Night tariff of Re.1 per 30 minutes, and comes with a tariff validity of 30 days.

Next time when you visit any Barista or Café Coffee Day outlet, make sure to do your bit for saving paper, by accessing the menu and bill through your mobile phone!Taking its ‘Use Mobile, Save Paper’ campaign further, IDEA Cellular has partnered with the two leading Coffee chains – Barista and Café Coffee Day – to spread awareness about its Green campaign through a unique mobile application that will allow people to download the menu card and bill on their mobile phones. This will eliminate the need for paper-based menu and bill in that particular transaction.
Visitors to these coffee outlets can access the mobile application through a simple download on their phones, browse through the menu, and select the items to be ordered.
