Idea cellular revised SMS and GPRS packs in Maharashtra & Goa circle

!dea cellular, one of the oldest provider of Maharashtra and Goa circle has finally brought something for the users in Maharashtra and Goa circles. !dea was the only provider offering outdated sms pack in this circle after Reliance communications bombarded telecom industry with their cheap sms packs. There was no pack offering 500 local/national sms per day since more than a year inspite of other operators following Reliance's footsteps.
Following are the details of the sms packs !dea cellular is offering in Maharashtra & Goa circle:
- Rs. 10 :- 100 Local sms valid for 10 days.
- Rs. 23 :- 100 Local/National sms everyday after the first 3 sms at 60 paise/msg valid for 30 days.
- Rs. 31 :- 1000 Night sms ( 11 pm to 6 am) valid for 30 days.
- Rs. 33 :- 300 Local/National sms valid for 15 days.
- Rs. 53 :- 500 Local/National sms valid for 30 days.
- Rs. 79 :- 1000 Local/National sms valid for 30 days
- Rs. 97 :- 500 Local/National sms per day after the first sms at 99 paise, accounting to 15,000 sms valid for 30 days.
Apart from the sms packs, !dea cellular has also launched affordable gprs packs for its subscribers in Maharashtra and Goa wherein the user will get 70 MB Data usage/day (2.1 GB) valid for 30 days with an erecharge of Rs. 98 and 60 MB Data valid for 3 days with an erecharge of Rs. 15.
There is nothing fresh in these offers apart from the gprs packs which are also capped on per day basis. Sms packs are still lot more costlier than other operators but for someone who doesn't want to change the provider, these schemes will provide the necessary relief at the cost of making a hole in your pocket.

IDEA Cellular has launched a new ‘My Gang’ pack for its Orissa Telecom cricle subscribers. This new 'My Gang' pack comes loaded with Tariff & VAS benefits.It offers Local Idea to Idea calling, at 1 paise per 4 seconds. It also allows its users to send free 100 SMS’ nationally or locally everyday, for a period of two months, however the first 3 SMS of the day will be charged at 60 paise.
The pack offers calling rates for other Local calls at 1 paise per 2 seconds.This pack also offers up to 104 MB of Internet usage free, everyday.
The new Idea Pack can be availed by new prepaid subscribers by simply doing a recharge of Rs. 42.

has launched a ‘Student Pack’ for UP West telecom circle. It comes loaded with Tariff & VAS benefits. The new Idea Student Pack offers Local Idea calling within the group, at just 15 paise per minute for 1 year, however the 1st minute of the day would be charged at Re.1. The new pack also allows the students to send free 100 SMS’ nationally or locally everyday, for a period of 3 months however the first SMS of the day will be charged at Re. 1.
All other Local and STD calls will be charged at 50 paise per minute. SMS beyond the free 100 SMS will also be charged at just 50 paise per SMS.
IDEA Cellular's Student Pack is also offering up to 50 MB of GPRS usage free for first 30 days. Students will also get Rs.5 worth of Talktime free every month, for the first three months.

Idea bags 'Telecom Partner' rights of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' season 4

Idea Cellular has obtained 'Telecom Partner' rights of popular TV Game Show Kaun Banega Crorepati’s 4th season. So what does this deal bring in for Idea subscribers? Well, Idea subscribers can register for KBC 4 even after phone lines are closed for registration.KBC phone and SMS lines have been announced open for all Indian citizens, residing in India and of 18 years or above, for registering for the show. The first 7 Questions of KBC will be open for public response till August 9th 20:59:59 Hrs.
Additionally, over 68 million Idea subscribers across the country can access ‘Idea Pass’ to register for the show. An exclusive offer for Idea subscribers, ‘Idea Pass’ will enable users to register for 5 days more, between 21:00:00 Hrs on August 11th, 2010 till 20:59:59 Hrs on August 16th, 2010, in addition to the general dates of registration. While accessing through Idea Pass, Idea subscribers need to respond to 5 exclusive Questions of KBC on the specially designed IVR by dialing ‘55456’ (Add ‘01-04’ for the answer Options A-D. For eg. ‘5545601’ for ‘A’). Idea subscribers can also SMS their response to the short code 55456.
Idea has also struck a deal with KBC to ensure brand visibility during the show. ‘Idea’ signature tune will be heard everytime the contestant on the Hot-Seat calls a friend through the lifeline – ‘Phone-a-friend’. KBC Host and Quiz Master Amitabh Bachchan’s voice will be heard on Idea IVR and will also be available for download as Dialer Tones.

Idea introduces Prepaid Roaming services in Assam & North East

IDEA Cellular has introduced Roaming services for its prepaid subscribers in the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura. As per the new Roaming tariff plan, Idea subscribers can make all Local calls at Re.1 per minute, STD at Rs.1.50 per minute and SMS at Rs.1.50 per message. While Incoming calls will be charged at Re.1 per minute. Idea’s Roaming services will be made available for all prepaid subscribers in the region, and will be activated automatically.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Alok Malik, Chief Operating Officer – East, IDEA Cellular said, “Idea is amongst the first operators to launch Roaming services in Assam and North East, soon after the opening of Roaming services in the region by the authorities. This has been made possible due to our well planned network, and readiness, enabling our subscribers from the region and across other parts of the country to stay connected while on the move.
Idea Gang Card returns in Maharashtra and Goa

After Airtel and Vodafone, its !dea's turn to re-launch the same scheme they had in the year 2008. All the key players in Maharashtra which includes Airtel,Vodafone and !dea have re-launched their schemes which were a huge hit in 2008. These schemes are launched to give a strong reply to the On-net packs provided by Uninor and Tata Docomo. This scheme of !dea is a ditto copy of Airtel Friendz and Vodafone Campus back. All the three above mentioned providers had stopped providing the original Friendz/Campus Pack/Gang scheme a year and a half back after launching Friendz-2/Campus Pack-2/New Gang schemes which gave the benefit of On-net calling at 20 paise/min. But according to the new scheme a user will be charged just 10 paise/min for calls made to !dea My Gang(old and new)subscribers.Other local and STD calls will be charged at 50 paise/min.Following are the Tarrif details:

!dea has their strong coverage to boast upon in Maharashtra and Goa circle but apart from that this scheme of !dea will find less customers because other providers like Airtel and Vodafone are providing a complete package for their subscribers which includes GPRS packs at cheaper rates than !dea,better sms packs and better value added services.However,good for those people for whom network coverage is the top priority.Grab this scheme before they again stop providing it,before re-launching it again in 2012(Pun intended!)
Idea Cellular records 1 Crore subscribers in Maharashtra & Goa

IDEA Cellular has reached milestone of 1 Crore subscribers in its 14-year-long relationship with mobile consumers in the Maharashtra & Goa circle. IDEA Cellular, an Aditya Birla Group company, was the first to launch mobile services in Maharashtra & Goa in 1996
On this occasion, Mr. P. Laxminarayana, Chief Operating Officer – Maharashtra & Goa, IDEA Cellular said, “Ever since the beginning, IDEA Cellular has been dedicated to the growth of telephony in this region. IDEA Cellular has introduced ‘Reserve Talktime’,for Idea subscribers in Andhra Pradesh to keep a ‘balance in reserve’ on their prepaid account.The new concept in mobility, launched for the first time in India in AP circle, will allow prepaid subscribers to create a Reserve account of Talktime, and use it later when they need it. It offers complete convenience to consumers to get talktime when they need it the most. For Eg. When a user has run out of balance and cannot reach a retailer immediately, but is in urgent need to make a phone call, he/ she can activate the ‘Reserve Talktime’ account and use the balance in reserve.
To avail the Reserve Talktime service, Idea prepaid subscribers can recharge with Rs. 33 and get talktime of Rs. 25 credited into their reserve account. To retrieve the same, the subscriber needs to dial *321#. This balance in reserve account is completely safe and protected from any kind of use until the user dials *321# to use it. On every recharge with Reserve Talktime voucher, subscriber will also get 5 minutes of local Idea to Idea calling absolutely free. The free minutes can be availed during night time i.e. 10 pm to 7 pm, for upto 3 days from the day of recharge.
Idea prepaid subscribers can continue recharging and using their main balance regularly, without using Reserve Talktime.

Under 'Maha Recharge' offer a Idea subscriber will get full talktime on every top-up recharge voucher, without being charged for administration charges or service tax.Idea prepaid customers can avail ‘Maha Recharge’ benefits by doing a recharge of Rs. 34. ‘Maha Recharge’ will allow the user to enjoy full talktime for all the subsequent recharges of Rs. 30 and above, for a period of 30 days.
