Idea Cellular is Kerala’s No.1 operator

Idea Cellular, ranking the 3rd largest operator in India, has reached new heights and has become the No.1 mobile telecom operator in Kerala. The subscriber base of the company in the state has reached 70 lakh customers and this has further strengthened its leadership position both in terms of revenue market share and customer market share.
The mobile network covers over 97% of the population and reaches out to 3,280 towns and villages in Kerala, through an unmatched network of nearly 5,000 sites. With the recent launch of 3G services, Idea is now offering high speed data, gaming and infotainment services to its over 70 lakh subscribers in the circle. In a short span of time, Idea’s 3G services have now extended to 12 towns with a network of 1,004 sites across the state.

No Idea Get Idea is working. Idea Cellular leads MNP Charts

Its been about 6 months since Mobile Number Portability (MNP) became available to mobile users across the country and it seems Idea Sirji is doing his job quite well. To our surprise Idea Cellular is the most preferred Telecom Operator for those who opted to move to another telecom operator. The lead of Idea is followed by Vodafone, Airtel, Aircel and Tata DOCOMO (in the same order) .
The telecom circles in which Idea is doing extremely well are Maharashtra, followed by Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh (in the same order)

Idea subscribers to get emergency Talk time in Kerala, courtesy ‘Idea Lifeline’

Prepaid mobile users often come across a situation when they run out of talktime when they need it the most, and do not have access to a retail outlet immediately. Idea Prepaid users in Kerala can now opt for ‘Idea Lifeline’. Idea prepaid subscribers in the state can now get emergency Talktime anytime, anywhere by simply dialling *444# from the mobile phone.
This offer is available for all Idea prepaid subscribers who have a balance of Re. 0 to 1 only. Idea subscriber can get talktime by dialing *444# from the phone, and Rs. 4 will be instantly credited to the subscriber’s account. There is no validity to the talk time and the same can be used for any call or service.
The credited amount will be adjusted with the next recharge of any of Idea’s top up or full talktime vouchers.
Idea 3G now available in Trivandrum and Nedumangad

IDEA Cellular’s 3G services is now available in 2 more towns - Trivandrum and Nedumangad – in addition to Kochi, Calicut, Trichur, Palghat, Kannur, Malapuram, Alleppey, Pathanamthitta & Kollam in Kerala.
Mr. Dinesh Arora IAS, Trivandrum Dist. Collector flagged off Idea’s 3G services in Trivandrum by making a video call to Dr.Sachidananda Kamath, MBBS, MD (Paed) Welcare Hospital & President IMA Kochi. Local citizens, business communities in Kerala, and domestic and international travelers to destinations like Trivandrum and Nedumangad will be able to avail Idea’s 3G services to connect with the world of faster Internet, Video Conferencing, Mobile TV, IdeaMall Application Store, besides many other infotainment services.
Speaking about the 3G expansion in the circle, Mr. Ramakrishna B, COO – Kerala, Idea Cellular, said: “Idea has constantly endeavored to empower the people of Kerala by making mobile services available across the state of Kerala. Post the launch in these two cities Idea subscribers will get an opportunity to experience high-end data services such as Video Conferencing, Idea Mall Application Store, Mobile TV, Video on Demand, and high-speed Internet Browsing with ease and convenience of use at affordable rates.”
IdeaMall is Idea’s Application Store which offers an entire catalogue of games and applications on Web & Mobile platforms. The application store will give Idea’s customers a superior user interface, transparent and affordable pricing, and all of Idea’s 2G and 3G subscribers using mobile handsets that support web browsing will be able to choose from more than 30,000 applications – both free and paid.
Idea’s national 3G footprint now covers over 400 towns and is progressively growing at the rate of 10 towns per day to cover 750 towns by mid 2011, and 4,000 towns by the end of FY12. Idea has traditionally focused on growth from semi-urban heartlands of India and will continue to drive its 3G services from these industrial, agricultural and educational regions.
Idea’s 3G services are now available in 9 circles - MP, Gujarat, HP, UP West, UP East, AP, Kerala, Haryana and Maharashtra & Goa. Currently, 10% of Idea subscribers in these markets are said to be using 3G enabled handsets. It is expected that these users will be the early adopters of 3G services.

Idea Cellular introduces Special STD & Local Offer in Gujarat

Idea Cellular has announced the launch of Special Prepaid STD & Local Offers in Gujarat. Idea has introduced a special STD & Local calling offer to facilitate its subscribers to stay in touch with their friends and family across the country. In Idea’s, ‘One Country, One Call Rate’ offer, Idea subscribers can now enjoy benefits of making STD & Local mobile calls at a flat rate of 40 paisa per min for 30 days, with a recharge of Rs. 33.
With a special focus on customers who make frequent STD calls, Idea Cellular has introduced a STD calling offer for its subscribers wherein after the recharge of Rs. 31, they can enjoy the benefit of all the STD calls at 25 paisa per min for a period of 30 days.
Idea launches new recharge offers and VAS services in Jammu and Kashmir

Idea cellular has launched new offers for its pre-paid customers in Jammu and Kashmir. Customers can avail calling and value added service benefits across through the new prepaid options being offered.
‘New Customer Recharges’ ranging from Rs. 35 to Rs. 73 have been launched which are valid up to a year. Through these voucher an Idea subscriber can make Local and STD calls at 40 paisa/minute. The ‘More Than Full Talk Time Bonanza’ the customer gets Rs. 99 talk time on a Rs. 90 recharge and Rs. 328 talk-time on Rs. 298 recharge. For the ones who require internet on-the-go, IDEA Cellular has introduced new GPRS/Internet packs offering up to 3GB of Internet usage absolutely free. These come with a day to a month long validity, and range between Rs. 5 to Rs. 97.
Various value added services have also been launched including dialer tones, big radio, astro world, sports pack, comedy junction, Idea music portal and ISD packs with reduced call rates for making international calls.
