Huawei India has announced the launch of the Huawei Honor and the Ideos X5 Pro in the sub-continent to strengthen the its hold in the Indian Mobile market.
Huawei Honor has been much appreciated in other countries and the device does pack in some decent specs, most-importantly being capable of supporting Android’s latest 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS (When the upgrade is available).

If you have been eyeing the smartphone market in the recent past, you might be familiar with Huawei Honor. Huawei has been on a mission to show the world that it can build good smartphones with a cheaper price tag than your average Nokia or Samsung.

Huawei has mainly generated waves because of two of its products – the Huawei Ascend P and the Huawei Honor. The Honor is more our cup of tea as it is going to hits Indian shelves soon. It already out there for pre-order on many sites for a price tag of around Rs. 19,000.

Remember we told you that Huawei’s in-house K3V2 quad-core processor proved to be better than Nvidia’s Tegra 3 SoC? Well, it has now met its match. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 has beaten the fastest mobile processor.


Last time we saw the Huawei Ascend D quad XL laden with the K3V2 processor beating the likes of the Asus Transformer Prime, but now some new benchmark results say that it isn’t as good as the Snapdragon S4.

Online retailer, Flipkart is turning out to be an unofficial announcer of new devices that are making their way into India. From Motorola RAZR, Defy+ to Samsung Galaxy Pop Plus, Omnia W and recent of all, HTC One V and One X all appeared on Flipkart before their manufacturers made an official announcement about them.
And another member to join the gang to arrive in India via Flipkart is the Huawei Honor which was announced back in September.

Huawei to move its Indian Corporate Headquarters to Mumbai

Huawei, the Chinese telecom equipment giant, is said to be moving its India corporate headquarters to Mumbai. It currently has its headquarters in Delhi, but is now planning to move to Mumbai as most of its clients are based there.


Huawei’s partners include Tata, Reliance, Vodafone and Idea Cellular which are all based in Mumbai. ET was informed that Huawei's leadership team, including India CEO Cai Liqun, will be moving to Mumbai soon.

Thin is in and everybody’s mad about it. Everyone from Motorola to Samsung is trying to make their phones as thin as possible. But the crown of the world’s thinnest phone currently goes to an unlikely winner – the Huawei Ascend P1 S with an unrealistic 6.68 mm thickness. But its thickness is just the beginning. The Huawei Ascend P1 S has much more on offer. It comes with goodies like Ice Cream Sandwich OS out-of-the box and a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD amongst many others. As everybody goes gaga over the Galaxy Tab or the iPad, here we have Huawei who is challenging the likes with its MediaPad 10 FHD. What’s so great about it? Well the MediaPad 10 FHD runs on a quad-core K3 processor which is introduced by Huawei themselves and also goes on to beat NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 (According to Huawei).
And that’s not where it ends. We keep talking about Apple planning to bring ‘Retina Display’ to the next-gen of iPad but hey Huawei as already packed in a display resolution of 1920 x 1200.

So the official announcements from the most-awaited event of the year, the Mobile World Congress 2012 have begun. On the day one, it was Chinese giant Huawei who has decided to surprise us all and announced what the company claims to the fastest smartphone yet, the Ascend D Quad.

According to Richard Yu, chairman of Huawei devices, the Ascend D Quad will be featuring no Tegra 3 quad-core processor but instead it own-grown and developed K3V2 processor.
