Huawei announced in December that it will be releasing Android Ice Cream Sandwich for its Huawei Honor smartphone and now the Chinese device maker has officially launched the Huawei Honor pre-loaded and running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS upgrade.

The device has been launched by Huawei in collaboration with China Unicom. We are not sure if this release will be limited only to China or not, but we expect the device to reach shores of major markets soon. Also the Honor with ICS has been released in white colour for prospective buyers.

Just last week we saw how Motorola went on to give explanations about why it'll takes 3-4 months to bring the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update to devices currently running Android 2.3 Gingerbread. But now we have Huawei, the Chinese manufacturer who has released a demo version of the Android 4.0 ICS for its Huawei Honor.
It was only in November that Google made the ICS source code official and it took Huawei less than a month to bring out an official release for its device. Though the release says that it only supports Chinese language, it has been confirmed that the 149 MB update supports multiple languages including English.
Indeed this step by Huawei will force other OEMs to speed up the procedure of ICS release update for their devices.

Chinese phone maker Huawei has launched a new Android device called the Vision. It has a sleek aluminium unibody frame and is powered by a dual-core processor. The looks, features and the UI make the handset quite appealing.
The Vision is a light-weight smartphone available in colours like gold silver and charcoal. It has a 3.7 inch touchscreen, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8255 dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash and capable of capturing 720p HD videos, Wi-FI b/g/n, Bluetooth, microUSB and a microSD card slot. It runs Android Gingerbread with a custom 3D UI that might remind you of the HTC carousel.
The Vision will be hitting stores in September in various countries. We hope India is on the list too, as it can be a big seller in the Indian market.
