Exclusive : BSNL majorly overhauls its Prepaid Tariff

We have learned from our sources that the state run operator, BSNL has done some major revision work to offer its Prepaid customers a better tariff. BSNL has made lots of changes in its Prepaid Tariff and we are having the complete details of it. After seeing the plans, I felt that this time before revision of its Prepaid Tariff, BSNL did its homework very well. The new and better revised Prepaid Tariff will be applicable from June 10th 2011.Here are the complete details :
1. Separate validity voucher is no more required to increase the validity. Customer will get validity along with talk value as and when he/she top up.
2. Existing prepaid plans have been rationalized to 7 distinct plans.
- One Plan is Life Time Plan and other 6 plans are General plans.
- One plan each is exclusively for 2G and 3G. All other plans are common for both 2G and 3G.
4. Value of freebies offered with plan activation is more than the initial amount paid by the customer for SIM and plan Activation.
5. USP of the revised plans are as under:-
- Saral Anant- Lifetime validity. With every recharge/top-up customer will get validity also in addition to talk value.
- 1p/sec- All voice calls , local on-net/ off net, STD on-net / off- net , roaming will be charged at the uniform rate of 1p/ sec. For Video calls also Per sec pulse has been introduced.
- all@49– All voice calls , local on-net/ off net, STD on-net / off- net , roaming will be charged at the uniform rate of 49p/ Min. SMS Local, National & Roaming will also be charged @49p.
- 2G Special- Reduced local voice call charges on two BSNL numbers @20P/Min and STD call to one BSNL number @30p/Min.
- 3G Special- Attractive video call facility with On-net call charges @Rs.0.70/Min and Off-net calls @ Rs.1.00/Min in Home LSA as well as in National Roaming.
- Pyari Jodi- Unlimited free local calls to one BSNL Fixed/WLL number. All voice calls (Local/STD-On-net/Off-net) @ 1p/sec. No separate validity voucher for extension of plan beyond the initial plan validity which will be extended to customer on top-up for talk value.
- Student Special- Student Special has been made as a separate plan with attractive call charges of Rs.0.40/Min (On-net) and Rs.0.60/Min (Off-net). 5 Friends and Family numbers with Local call charges @ Rs.0.10/Min (On-net) and Rs.0.30/Min (Off-net) are also available. The student will get 300 free Local SMS and 100 MB free data usage on recharge of Student Special Validity voucher of Rs.25 (Incl. of S. Tax) with Nil talk value and 30 days validity. Beyond free usage, local SMS will be charged @ 5 paisa per SMS.
- Reduced call facility on 3 BSNL numbers is available to all the prepaid plans. Reduced voice call charges on two BSNL local numbers @20P/Min and on one STD BSNL number @30p/Min is applicable to 2G Spl, 3G Spl, Pyari Jodi and Student Special plans. The reduced call charges for Saral Anant, “1p/sec” & “all@49” plans are 30p/Min. on two BSNL local numbers and 50p/Min on one STD BSNL number.
7. Modified STV (Rs.17 with validity of 30 days) with Local/STD On-net Night call charges @ Rs.0.05/Min (11PM to 06 AM).and STV (Rs.50 with validity of 30 days) with Local On-net call charges @ 10p/Min have been introduced.
8. Existing STVs “1p/sec” and “all @ 49” are withdrawn. If Saral Anant customer desires to avail these tariffs, he may migrate to “1p/sec plan” or “all @ 49 plan.”
9. Circle specific plans will continue.
BSNL announces 2 New Longer Validity 3G Data RCVs of Rs. 2500 and Rs. 5000

3G War is heating up. BSNL has decide to come up with longer validity 3G Data recharges of Rs. 2500 and Rs. 5000. Both the recharges will come with a validity of 180 days. Rs. 2500 will offer free data usage of 12 GB while recharge of Rs. 5000 will offer free data usage of 30 GB.

The free data usage allowed is also applicable while in national roaming.
The usage charge beyond free usage is same for Home LSA and roaming.
The Data RCVs will increase both main and dedicated account validity.
The above tariff will be implemented with effect from 06.06.2011
BSNL (Karnataka) offers full talk time and announces revision of STV 61 and STV 65

BSNL will be offering its GSM customers in Karnataka circle, full talk time on recharge denominations of Rs. 65 and 605. Recharge of Rs. 65 comes with a validity of 45 days and that of Rs. 605 comes with a validity of Rs. 365. For the same telecom circle BSNL also announced revision of STV 61 and STV 65. This will be applicable to both 2G and 3G prepaid mobile service.
The TOP Ups are available only through CTOP UP.
Validity will be extended only for Saral Ananth / Life Time Customers .

Exclusive : BSNL to offer better GPRS tariff from 1st June

BSNL has announced that it will offers its consumers better GPRS/EDGE tariffs from the next month. Earlier BSNL used to provide unlimited Data usage to its 2G customers, but then it revised its tariff to match the 2G Data tariff of other telecom operator by rolling back its unlimited 2G data plans. We have learned from our sources that BSNL will offer more data usage at a lower rate than what it was offering earlier. Here are the revised GPRS/EDGE tariff plans which BSNL will be offering from 1st June 2011.

BSNL 3G introduces new Data Recharge Voucher for Karnataka

BSNL has introduced a special offer for it 3G customers which is a new data recharge voucher of Rs. 4200/- offering data usage of 6GB/month for 6 months.

The offer is available for 90 days and with effect from the 19th of May 2011. The offer will increase main account and dedicated account validity by 180 days.

BSNL reduces its selling price of its 3G Single Band and Tri-Band USB Data Cards

BSNL’s 3G Single Band and Tri-Band USB data card devices will be available at a cheaper price. BSNL has revised the selling price of the USB data cards. The new rates of the devices will see a reduction from Rs.200 to 500/-

New facilities by BSNL for 3G Post-Paid users

BSNL 3G customers will be offered new facilities making their internet usage on their BSNL mobiles more flexible. The new facilities will be applicable for post-paid customers only and will be effective from the 16th of May.
The new facilities will include the following:
- A special Best Value Plan is introduced under 3G postpaid mobile data plan with the following terms and conditions:-

- Promotional Offer (Free Data Card):- customer who gives an upfront amount of Rs.10,000 (Exclusive of S.Tax) towards FMC of the data plan will be provided with a 3G data card (Make/Model-Linktop/LW 272, Data speed-3.6 Mbps, Single Band, USB Type) free of cost. The customer can choose any postpaid data plan of his choice and the Fixed Monthly Charge of the plan selected will be automatically deducted from the advance amount till the balance in account exhausted. The promotional offer will remain open for a period of 90 days from the date of launch.
- Annual payment option for all 3G postpaid data plans will be available with two months Fixed Monthly Charges (FMC) discount i.e. ten months FMC will be taken as annual charge, when the payment is made at a time in advance.
- Customer who wants static IP address under BSNL 3G post-paid plans, can be provided with one static IP address @ Rs. 250/- per month. Annual payment option as mentioned at para (iii) above will also be applicable to Static IP address charges.
- A discount of 10% on FMC of all 3G postpaid data plan is to be offered to Government Employees (Central Government/ State Government/ PSUs) both existing / new connection after verifying the credential of the officer. The above 10% discount cannot be clubbed with any other special discount/concession.

BSNL announces Special Prepaid Plans for Paramilitary forces

BSNL has introduced a Special Plan for all Paramilitary Forces. Under this Plan BSNL will offer a special prepaid plan for its 2G and 3G mobile services. Here are the full details :

Note:-
* Extension of Validity by 30 days through recharge of denomination of Rs.99 preferably through C-top-up.
# ISD tariff is subject to revision depending upon fluctuation in International Carrier Rates.
^ Circles can suitably adjust the MRP of FRC in the price band upto Rs.4 (+/-) of above price considering the
technical feasibility.
i) The credential of the Paramilitary force personnel is to be verified before activating thev plan by taking a photocopy of his Identity Card issued by his office duly attested by his controlling officer. A self certificate indicating that no other connection is active in his name under this special paramilitary plan any where in India is also to be taken.
ii) The above special plan is to be activated in BSNL, CSC only.
iii) Paramilitary force personnel using BSNL connection and Port-in customers will be allowed to activate the special plan by using the FRC of the plan. On migration to the new plan, the unutilized balance in the customers account will be carried forward. However, validity of the previous plan will not be carried forward.
iv) Rs.5 per number per occasion will be recovered for change in 5 F&F numbers.
The above special plan will be implemented with effect from 19.05.2011.
BSNL offers calls to Saudi Arabia & UAE at 13 paise

BSNL has announced new ISD packs for its Prepaid and Postpaid customers who frequently make calls to Saudi Arabia and UAE. BSNL will allow its subscribers subscribed to this new ISD pack to make calls at just 13 paise/sec and send SMSes at Rs. 2.50/SMS.Prepaid customers need to buy STV 26 which will offer calls at just 13 paise/sec and SMSes at Rs. 2.50/SMS. For Postpaid customers this pack comes with a monthly charge of Rs. 23 and it will also offer calls at just 13 paise/sec and SMSes at Rs. 2.50/SMS.
These packs are available from today and will remain available till next 90 days.
BSNL revises Voice SMS Charges under its CDMA services

BSNL has decided to revise the charges of Voice SMS under its CDMA services. The revised charges will allow its CDMA customers to send or forward Voice SMS to local, National numbers at 75 paise, the charges will remain same even while the subscribers is on national roaming. BSNL will charge 60 paise for retrieval of Voice SMS whether the subscriber is on roaming or otherwise.
