Exclusive : BSNL announces special offers for Port-in GSM customers under Mobile Number Portability

Yet again, we are sharing with our loyal readers one more exclusive news. This our first 'Exclusive' in our 3rd year. So here is the news.As Mobile Number Portability (MNP) launch is round the corner, every telecom operator is trying one thing or the other to lure the new customers. BSNL, offcourse, is trying the same. BSNL has announced various Goodies for the Prepaid and Postpaid customers who will port to BSNL from their exisitng operator.
BSNL will waive off porting charges and will provide 32K SIM free of cost, however if you have any specific demand for other SIM then actual SIM price will be charged.
Here is what BSNL going to offer :
For Prepaid Connections :
At the time of activation of all port-in customers, additional talk value of Rs.100 will be offered in addition to the normal free talk value available with FRC.
All port-in customers will be offered 5 GB GPRS for one month free of charge.
For Postpaid Connections :
Activation charges will be waived off.
50% rebate in the FMC of first month after port in.
Freebies attached with the plan will remain same.
For all Telecom Circles except Haryana the above tariff will be implemented with effect from the date of implementation of MNP. In respect of Haryana Telecom Circle, the above tariff will be effective from 01.02.2011.

To attract CDMA users, BSNL has revamped its various offerings for CDMA customers. Here are the details :

This Plan now comes with a talktime of Rs. 200, instead of Rs. 100 which was provided earlier. Alongwith it BSNL also offers talktime worth Rs. 1600, which can be used for making calls to any BSNL number. This addtional talktime of Rs. 1600 will be provided as Rs.200/month for 8 months.

Get ready for 14.4 Mbps speed on BSNL 3G, BSNL will offer 14.4 Mbps speed soon [Updated]

Get ready for higher speeds on your BSNL 3G, the state run telecom operator which is already providing its subscribers with most competitive 3G tariffs will now soon be offering speeds of 14.4 Mbps to its 3G users. According to our sources 14.4 Mbps speed on BSNL 3G is already live in Trivandrum (Kerala), which is the first city where 14.4 Mbps speed was launched. Ahmedabad and Pune will get 14.4 Mbps on 3G by the end of January 2011. BSNL is planning to complete the roll out of 14.4 Mbps on 3G network of all the circles, and not only West Zone, by the end of first quarter of 2011.
This upgrade willl surely earn BSNL a huge number of 3G subscribers at will not just offer 14.4Mbps speeds but will offer it at very competitive prices.

Update : BSNL plans to upgrade its network to provide speeds of upto 21.6 Mbps by the end of year 2011.
BSNL slashes Postpaid tariff of its 2G and 3G mobile services

BSNL has announced further tariff reduction for its 2G and 3G Postpaid customers. The new tariffs will be valid from January 1st 2011. We have complete details of all the revised BSNL Postpaid Plans, check 'em out.



@ The Activation charge of Rs.100 is uniform for 2G and 3G postpaid connections. 200 free SMS within LSA will be allowed to all new activations to be utilized within first two months @ 100 SMS per month.
μ Security deposit:
a) It is non-interest bearing & refundable upon surrender subject to clearance of all dues. Security Deposit of Rs.500 for Local/STD to be refunded Rs.100 per month through adjustment from usage charges from 6th month onward. Security deposit for ISD and International roaming will continue.
b) No security deposit is required for Local/STD facility from the following categories.
i) BSNL employees ii) Existing BSNL subscribers upon request with conditions as per Sub Note-1 iii) Employees of Central/State Government and Central PSUs iv) Bank employees who give ECS mandate from their own bank Central/ State Government & Central PSU's iv) Corporate Customers taking minimum five connections in corporate name.
* Free calls are allowed in Own Network from home LSA only.
$ Reduced call charges facility can be availed on two selected BSNL numbers
i) Option I: Two Intra circle numbers.
ii) Option II. One Inter circle & One Intra circle number.
^ Night calling facility in Own Network @ 50% of the normal call charges applicable in the respective plan:
i) Available during 2300 Hrs to 0700 Hrs.
ii) Not applicable to reduced call charge facility between two selected BSNL numbers.
iii) Applicable only in Home LSA.

BSNL to offer all Calls from BSNL Landline to any Landline at Local Call rate

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has announced the revision of Pulse Rate of its Landline. The pulse rate for BSNL landline users for calling any landline/WLL (except 10 digit numbers) will be 180 seconds. So, now you make local calls or national calls to any landline/WLL (except 10 digit numbers) and you on the basis of 180 seconds Pulse rate.
Here are the revised pulse rates in detail :

This revised Pulse rate will be implemented from 1st December 2010. However in some circles it may be impleted with a delay so confirm with your Customer Care after 30th November 2010 about the revised pulse rate.

We all know that BSNL gives great Broadband service at high speed, reasonable support, afforable rate and with no frills. This is the reason behind BSNL being a popular choice amongst Broadband service providers. BSNL have a lot of broadband plans to choose for home, offices, rural, urban etc. Most of us get confused while checking leaflets or reading Broadband plans to choose for our usage but if you go through our article, you will understand BSNL Broadband Plans Terminology in seconds. It will be easy to understand the meaning of any Broadband plan by merely looking at the name.The Following Nomenclature has been adopted for the Broadband Plans across the country:
BB: It is common terminology used to denote Broadband Plan. Hence, BB is used with all plans. For example – BBG 125
G: Stands for General Plan which can be availed by any subscriber i.e. Business, Home, Corporate, institutions, individual etc. in any area (say Urban or rural) For example – BBG 125 is available to any and every customer.
Home: Means it is meant for Home users. For example - BB Home UL 750. This plan is not available to Business customers.
Numerals ‘XXX’e.g. 250:- stands for fixed monthly charges in Rupees (FMC). For example – in BBG 250 (250 denotes the Fixed monthly charges/ rent to be charged from the customer).
Combo: Denotes plan with combined rental/FMC for Broadband and landline. There is no extra rental for landline in this plan. For example – BBG Combo 650. Here the customer has to pay Rs. 650/- as one month rental for his Broadband and Landline rental together in a month.
FN: means free usage at night from 2 AM to 8 AM. For example: BBG FN Combo 500. Here the customers’ usage at night (between 2:00 AM to 8:00 AM) is not counted in his usage for charging purpose.
Speed: means plans with high speed i.e 8 Mbps on ADSL. BBG Speed Combo 4500.
Super Speed: Means plans with high speed using VDSL i.e. 16 Mbps, 24 Mbps. For example: BBG Super Speed Combo 4999.
UL: Denotes plans with unlimited usage at uniform speed. Say BB Home UL 750
ULF: Denotes unlimited usage plans with differential speeds i.e. higher speed upto a limited free data transfer and lower speed thereafter. For example: Say BBG Combo ULF 900. In this plan, the customer is allowed a download speed of 512 Kbps upto 8 GB download. Beyond 8 GB of download, his download speed falls to 256 Kbps. The term was initially coined to mean “unlimited fair usage”. In view of the fact that a separate fair usage policy is proposed for BSNL, the ULF term would now stand for “Usage based differential Speed”
Rural: Special plans applicable in rural areas for which only network subsidy is available from USOF. For example – BBG Rural Combo 999.
Rural USOF: Denotes Special plans applicable in rural areas for which network subsidy as well as Computer subsidy is available from USOF. For example – BBG Rural USOF 99.CSC:- Special plan applicable for DIT CSCs. For example – BB CSC 400. This plan is formulated as a special plan to be offered to the CSCs.

Internet on Blackberry devices has never been truly affordable for the masses. There has been a huge drop in Blackberry internet charges in past 2-3 months and providers are still trying to woo customers with attractive offers just for subscribers to get started with the Blackberry internet services. BSNL has come up with an offer which will allow all Blackberry users to try unlimited 2G data plan (priced at Rs. 399) free of cost for one month. This promotional offer will be available to only those BSNL customers who have Blackberry handsets but not activated Blackberry plan by upto 15.11.2010.The unlimited free trial offer will end on 14.12.2010.
BSNL Mobile launches "Home Unlimited Plan", unlimited free calls to one landline number

This is an attractive scheme for Housewives receiving calls from husbands at home landline, students going to universities can call back parents, Sons & daughters can call their parents back home to keep in touch all day.It is introduced as a promotional offer for 90 days with effect from 07.10.2010. As per this plan unlimited free call facility will be provided to one BSNL home landline from BSNL Mobile connection.
Other call charges as 1 paise per second to BSNL All India Network and 1.2 paise per second to All India Private Operators.
The Home Unlimited plan will be provided only for new mobile connection. The customer may be asked to produce last paid bill of the Landline number also to verify the genuineness of the customer. In case of Assam, J&K and North East LSAs validity of plan is subject to the
guidelines/instructions issued by Govt. of India/Regulatory Authority from time to time.
