Media sharing via DLNA on Lumia smartphones with the Play To Windows Phone app

Nokia has launched a new beta app that streams media for Windows Phone called Nokia Play To. The app is free to download from Beta Labs for Lumia users and allows you to display photos and videos on TVs, laptops, and other devices wirelessly and will also be supported by Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game consoles.


It uses the good old DLNA technology which has been in use for quite some time and it’s available in a number of smartphones, even in the Samsung Omnia W Windows Phone. But what Nokia has done here is that it has put a very simple UI for DLNA sharing.

Finally a reason to rejoice Windows Phone owners! Yesterday we saw Rovio saying that the new instalment from the Finnish makers of world-popular Angry Birds games, the Angry Birds Space will not be arriving on the Windows Phone platform and the company has taken a full 180 degree turn and goes on to say that Angry Birds Space will eventually arrive on the platform.
This flip-flop from Rovio’s Peter Vesterbacka yesterday statement comes from Rovio Chief Executive Mikael Hed in a conversation to Reuters.
BlackBerry Messenger updated to v6.2.0.24 in the BlackBerry Beta Zone

It was just 10 days back when Research In Motion (RIM) had made available a new beta version of its popular BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. And today again, the BlackBerry Messenger has struck to v6.2.0.24 against the previously available v6.2.0.15 which had a few bugs.
With the v6.2.0.24 RIM has fixed a few bugs and also is aware of bugs still available in the version. Catch the full changelog after the break.
BlackBerry App World updated to v3.1.2.20 in BlackBerry Beta Zone

Research in Motion (RIM), the makers of BlackBerry smartphones has released a beta update to its BlackBerry App World in its BlackBerry Beta Zone. 

With this update the BlackBerry App World has graduated to version 3.1.2.20 and brings in a few new features other than the usual bug fixes.

Angry Birds Space, the next instalment of the ever popular game Angry Birds has just arrived on almost all the platform except Symbian and Windows Phone. The Symbian version will arrive soon but the Angry Birds Space will not arrive for the Windows Phone devices.
Peter Vesterbacka, Chief Marketing Officer of Rovio Entertainment, the maker of the game broke this news in an interview to Bloomberg Television.
