Android is trying to meld in different flavors to make the Ice Cream Sandwich OS even more delicious. Google has just released a Beta version and is trying to bring the desktop Chrome browser to Ice Cream Sandwich phones and tablets. Some new features include seamless signing in and sync. It also comes with an Omnibox for marking your favorite pages and auto-complete in Google search.

Instagram a pretty popular photo editing and sharing application which is available only on the iPhone, is said to be heading for Android. The app won the best iPhone app 2011 and already has about 15 million registered users; just imagine if it hits the Android Market.


The owner, Kevin Systromm had earlier revealed that the company is planning on bringing it to Android, but there wasn’t any confirmation or any launch date.

We all know Android OS uses data almost all the time. Well, Japanese mobile phone service provider NTT DoCoMo will request Google to make changes in the OS to transmit control signals less often.


DoCoMo has identified some Android applications that send out control signals once every three to five minutes even when not in use. This translates to ten times that of a conventional mobile phone which means a lot of load on the network.

Well yes, back on December 28, 2011 an app developer 'Official App' successfully made a submission of an 'official' Siri for Android app in the Android Market, but Google acted soon and now the app has been removed from the market.


The developer who was able to get the app approved from Google even used the Apple's own icon for the app.
