The 'Special 5' feature empowers Airtel customers to select any five Airtel mobile numbers and stay in touch with them at low rates of 20 paise per minute on local calls and 50 paise per minute on STD calls. This feature is available as an add-on to the customer’s current tariff plans in prepaid.

The 'Special 5' feature gives the customer the flexibility to choose any five numbers of his/her choice across both local and STD.

Airtel magic rechargeAirtel has launched Value Magic recharges for its customers in Karnataka. These recharges have been designed taking into account the usage patterns of three key segments of users – youth, rural and urban users - in denominations of Rs 149, Rs 249 and Rs 398, respectively. With these recharges, Airtel customers can call any local Airtel mobile at 50 paise per minute and also get one year validity.

The Rs 149 recharge designed for youth, comes with a talk time of Rs 50, offers local SMS at 2 paise each, community calling at 30 paise per minute, calls to local Airtel mobiles at 50 paise per minute, calls to other local mobiles at 60 paise per minute and national SMS at Rs 1.50 each. In this recharge, the first minute of the first call will be charged at Re 1 every day.

HTC Magic now available for Airtel Customers

Airtel and HTC Corporation today announced the launch of India’s First Android powered mobile phone – The HTC Magic.

For Airtel customers, HTC Magic also allows free data download of 100 MB per month for a period of 6 months. The HTC Magic will be available at a market price of Rs. 29,900/- at Airtel Relationship Centres and authorised HTC resellers across 17 cities. The cities include Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Coimbatore, Cochin, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Lucknow, Bhubaneswar, Patna.

AIRTEL BRINGS CLOUD BASE NET PC

Telecom major Airtel launched its Cloud base Net PC initiative that provides Internet connectivity to users without the need to invest in personal computers (PC). Till now, only the state-owned telecom operators Mahanagar Telecom Nigam (MTNL) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) offered similar products in collaboration with hardware maker Novatium.
Airtel net PC is available for Rs.7,999, the no-frills PC will offer customers the choice of three Internet plans in a monthly price band of Rs.699-Rs.1,199, which would include Microsoft’s Office Suite software.
Airtel is offering net PC with three tariff Pack - Home Pack at Rs. 699 per month, Professional Pack at Rs. 899 per month and Business Pack at Rs. 1,199 per month.
The Home Pack gives 256 kbps Airtel broadband connection with 3GB data transfer limit, online desktop service with 10GB storage and Genuine Microsoft Office standard.

Airtel Joins Hands with Manchester United

Airtel has announced a five-year partnership with Manchester United Football Club. The partnership is first of its kind for both Manchester United and Airtel.


With this, Airtel customers across India, Sri Lanka and the Seychelles will get exclusive access to rich football content of Manchester United (MU) on Airtel mobile phones. In addition, Airtel users will also get an opportunity to participate in the Manchester United Soccer Schools program currently operated by Manchester United Merchandising Limited. Airtel customers will also get an opportunity to watch football matches at Old Trafford and travel to Europe to watch Manchester United play the UEFA Champions League.

Bharti Airtel set to scale 100 milion subscriber mark

Airtel-advantageAirtel is set to become the first Indian operator with 100 million subscribers nationwide, in all probability within a few weeks. At the end of March, Bharti' Airtels overall subscriber base was 96.6 million. After including the subscribers added in April, its total subscriber base is expected to hit 99 million. Bharti added 32.5 million subscribers in 2008-09 with an average of 2.7 million subscribers per month.

Bharti Airtel added a record 8.37 million new subscribers in January-March quarter, according to a statement issued by company on Wednesday. These numbers suggest that Bharti's mobile subscriber base alone is already to 97 million (93.92 million of its 96.6 million subscribers in March were mobile subscribers). Somewhere in the middle of May its overall subscriber base is likely to cross 100 million and by May-end/early June its mobile subscriber base is expected to cross the 100 million mark.
