The service is currently available for Airtel customers in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, NCR, UP, Uttarakhand, Himachal, Haryana and Punjab. Customers just need to dial 5-44-45 to avail of the facility. This service has been in pilot phase for the past 3 months in these circles and is said to be received well by Airtel mobile users.

Airtel reduces charges on extra Broadband usage

Bharti Airtel has launched a new broadband scheme called 'Smartbyte' for its broadband customers that allows them to purchase an additional quota on a fixed price in case they exceed their data usage under their existing plan.
This new implementation of the scheme will replace the earlier system of paying for every megabyte of additional usage by a new system where the customers will be given the option to buy additional data access at a fixed price. The offered options will include packs starting at Rs 99 for 1GB to Rs 1,499 for 50GB.

The various Smartbyte additional data usage packs include-1GB for Rs. 99/-, 2GB for Rs. 159/-, 5GB for Rs. 299/-, 10GB for Rs. 499/-, 20GB for Rs. 799/- and 50GB for Rs. 1499/-. Users can log in to www.airtel.in/smartbytes from their DSL user-id and opt for their choice of additional data usage pack anytime for the remainder of their monthly billing cycle.

Bharti Airtel has today announced the launch of its new ‘Football Day Alerts’ and ‘Hall of Fame’ packs for Airtel mobile customers. Airtel has also announced a new contest called GO! GO! GOAL. The contest is for Airtel prepaid and postpaid mobile customers who subscribe to the above packs and stand a chance to win a host of prizes including football jerseys, Samsung Galaxy Tabs, Sony Playstations and a 50” LED TV. The contest is now open for all Airtel mobile customers across Rajasthan and will close on October 31, 2011.
To participate in GO! GO! GOAL Contest 2011, Airtel mobile customers need to subscribe to either of the following packs and start receiving the live updates and content from the ongoing football season:

Airtel to offer 2G and 3G service in Rwanda [East Africa]

Bharti Airtel recently bagged the license to offer 2G and 3G services in Rwanda in Africa, expanding its global base to 20 countries. Bharti in a statement said that it would invest $100 million over three years in the country. Airtel now serves 17 countries in Africa and has a stronger presence in East Africa.
Bharti Airtel CMD Sunil Bharti Mittal said “ Rwanda is a key telecom market with immense growth potential and will strengthen Bharti Airtel’s footprint in East Africa” He also said that the telco will offer the best and affordable mobile service and also expand the wireless broadband network to all major towns of Rwanda.
